I loved not knowing if I was having s boy or girl last time I was pregnant and plan on not finding out again with this one. Anyone else going to not find out?
We're sort of undecided. We were team green with DD, but it wasn't as fun of a process than we expected, and a nurse also gave it away before her birth, which sort of sucked.
The logical side of me wants to find out so I have more time to do laundry and unpack and sort if we need to, but there were still some definite perks to being team green up until delivery day.
Team Green over here! My mom is going to be so anxious when we tell her lol We haven't even told her I'm pregnant yet, but she is chomping at the bit to buy baby clothes for her future grandchildren. She's going to go nuts!
No way, I couldn't wait that long. I'm anxious already to know...feel like Taylor is singing to me
Do you all have a preference (I know we all likely don't care and just want healthy babies but I'm just curious)? H said he wants a girl because he doesn't want to have to deal with a young him. I thought that was hilarious.
We found out with both my other pregnancies (both girls)...this is hopefully the last kiddo, and after all we've been through I just want to hold a squishy so I just don't care what it is. I know I will love whatever comes out of me. If it's a girl, great, I will need nothing as I already have a June baby. If a boy, the grandmas can go on a shopping spree for me! DH wants to find out, but this is an argument I will win.

Ha! H didn't want to know and I told him the same thing...
Found out with my last 2. I didn't want to know last time but DH really wanted to know and he REALLY wanted another girl. I had a feeling my 2nd was a boy so I agreed to finding out b/c I knew DH would need time to "mourn" not having another girl. I was right and he was a boy and DH went up stairs and cried after he opened the package that contained either a blue or pink outfit.
ETA: All that to say I made him promise to not find out this time. Especially since it's his fault we're pregnant again... :-p
Yikes! I'm too much of a planner that I have to know. Kudos to you team green ladies!
@mkemommy DH wants a son, I think it is just a boy thing. He asked if I had any guess what baby was yesterday. I was like....no. Baby is poppyseed. I just want a healthy baby!!
@mrsschmity did H freak out when you finally got to tell him? Mine just said "told you so - your burps gave it away".
@KOR21 - Ha! My H asked me the same thing when I told him I was pregnant. I have zero clue what baby will be and also don't care so long as baby is healthy.
I couldn't do team green. But I also don't want to find out at the ultrasound like we did with DD. DH was really disappointed and it just wasn't special. I know someone who took the gender envelope to a baker and ordered cupcakes filled with pink or blue frosting. I'd love to do this so its more intimate and fun. Also DD can be involved. DH says no because he doesn't want to wait any longer. But I may not let him win that.
Yes team green here! DH loves the idea of the baby coming out and they say "it's a boy/girl!" Also, I'm a first time mom and I know that if we find out and tell people that they would all just buy baby clothes and honestly I know they grow out of then so fast. I'd rather if someone wants to get something that they buy supplies. For the next baby we can find out because it's be easier to know what the next one will be when you already have a LO.
@MillerMama13 that's sucks that DH was disappointed first time around. I keep trying to mention the benefits of having a girl so mine isn't sad. He comes from a family of only two sons...so that is what he has in mind. Boys and their boys!! I know he would love her anyway, but I don't want to see that look of disappointment. I bet DH loves his girl now!!
Another team green member over here! I always thought I would want to know but we have officially decided to wait. When are we genuinely surprised these days!?!
I am hoping finding out at birth would squash any traces of gender disappointment from either myself or my husband. Not that I am expecting us to have them I just think there would be no other emotion in the world but happiness and love regardless of gender at the birth.
I have two boys and if love a surprise with this one, but I don't think I can hold out. There was no hiding it with DS2. It was the first thing we saw when she started the anatomy scan. The tech didn't say anything I knew it was another boy. I have a feeling this one is another boy, which means we need to buy nothing except a new infant car seat as our old one will be expired.
I'm the opposite of you, @izzyp25 . I used to think that I would be team green all the way, but now I'm not sure I can wait to know. I want to start planning everything!
I'm about 75% sold on Team Green right now, but I'm not sure how on board with that DH is. I have one daughter and would prefer a boy mostly because I grew up with all brothers and can't imagine not being the mother of boys at some point, but my daughter would love a sister so it isn't like I would be upset with a girl, either! I also imagine delaying the reveal will forestall an explosion of shopping on the part of my in-laws (and I like gender neutral stuff anyway, so I'd be happy with that).

I have no patience or willpower, so sooner I can know, the better. DH only wants boys, and I want this one to be a boy, but would love a 3rd someday who is my baby girl.
For me, it is not due to the lack of patience or willpower that I am finding out. I just want to have a nursery decorated and clothes washed beforehand rather than after the baby arrives.
I think a small part of me is hoping for a girl since we already have a little boy, but another little boy is also a blessing and a cost savings on clothes
I think I just really love the thought of little girl clothes, headbands, dolls, makeup, jewelry... All that stuff.
After I got my BFP, one of the first things I did was figure out when the AS would be. :-)
@KOR121 Absolutely! He wouldn't trade that little girl for the world. He was over it in less then a day. The next time we went shopping he was picking out frilly pink outfits for her. He still picks her clothes out! I was just so mad at his reaction but it's definitely just a guy thing. They get over it.

Yup, me too!
This makes me laugh because when I was pregnant with DS, one night (after a few glasses of wine) DH had tears in his eyes as he told me our son was going to be really bad.
I'm on the fence. It is my first, but as I used to work in OB, I remember being in deliveries where they didn't know the gender. They were always my favorite!
Being my first one most likely I will! So I can decorate LOL
We were team green last time and loved it! We are gonna wait to find out at delivery this time as well. Our OB made my husband make the call when they pulled DD out since he knew we waited, and our (my) reaction was something I will never forget!
I plan to find out before. I can't wait! I think it'll be great fun to be able to call the baby by name. And to decorate the nursery. Eek! I'm so excited!! I don't care if it's a boy or girl, I'm just excited to be a mom and have a son or daughter!!
Team green here! The past year has been killer with all the fertility treatments, IVF and Fet cycles where EVERYTHING is planned and predictable (and crappy). We're just so stoked to be expecting our first that gender is the last thing we care about.
Our future mint-and-red nursery already has 2 disparate boy girl bins in it for clothing.
I wish there was a way I could both know and not know. I love the idea of a surprise but I am hoping for a girl because I have no good boys names hahahaha. Maybe I can tell them to only tell me if I need to come up with a name? Lol
Haven't even thought of it yet. After two miscarriages I am just such a nervous wreck waiting for my first appt. I've always thought that I'd want to know for decorating and all but now I'm not sure. I think it would be so exciting to be surprised!
My FIL died when I was 16 weeks with my DD, so finding out the gender shortly after his passing was a nice, positive distraction. At the time, I couldn't imagine NOT finding out.
This time, we're going Team Green! I will be having a scheduled c-section, so it will be nice to have a surprise! It's funny how feelings and opinions change with your second pregnancy!
@KOR121 sorry for the super late response! Well, my original plan for telling H didn't really go as I planned lol I wasn't planning on testing that morning, so when I finally decided to H had already left for work. I had to sit at work ALL DAY LONG trying to think of how to tell him. Longest day ever.
I was going to do something cute like this since I didn't have any elaborate plan....
H: How was your day? Me: Good! Got some interesting news this morning
H: Oh yeah, what's that? Me: Figured out why I was so tired last night and not feeling well
H: What was it? Me: We're going to have a little *insert last name* running around
Instead it went something like this....
*H walks in the door after work, puts his things away, gives me a kiss and starts heading back outside to grab more stuff from the car*
Me as H is walking down the stairs: Hey babe, I gotta tell you something H: What? Me with tears in my eyes: Soooo....we're going to have a little *insert last name*
H looking thoroughly confused: What do you mean babe? *Me crying and just looking at him like a blubbering mess*
He finally picked up on it, came back upstairs and we hugged and kissed. Ever since then he's been so impatient and wants to tell the entire world lol So as far as telling him, it was very simple and he was super happy
