My first appointment was because it was a new doctor for me. Pap smear, boob check, blood draw, urine test.... I've been coming in every 3 days for a blood draw because they are constantly finding something! First was for baseline, second had my hcg levels go up but progesterone slightly dip. Get prescribed progesterone pills. Come in for 3rd blood draw, hcg levels good, progesterone not increasing like doctor hoped, vitamin d low. 4th blood draw on Thursday... Can't wait to see what they find next!! My 7 week ultrasound is also the Wednesday before my wedding/honeymoon so I can't even tell you how many body parts I have crossed over here!!
Thanks for the tips. Puking is about once a day right now, nausea is ALL day. I can sometimes drink and eat, but am down about 6 lbs in the last week. I will probably give it a few more days before I give them a call and let them make the decision if they want to see me earlier.
or just extreme nausea and vomitting throughout pregnancy. It can be a warning signs for other things too, but it is actually very uncommong from what I read.
I know for me, they checked my beta because we did an IUI so they want to make sure everything is progressing smoothly and then at 6 weeks they do an US to find the heartbeat. If they don't find it at 6 weeks I go back at 7 weeks and as long as everything is looking good I "graduate" to my regular obgyn. and who knows when I'll see her.
Also, when did you all start having sickness? The only symptom so far is sore breasts, and man are they sore at night... Can't even sleep on my side. And some acne and dry skin. I've only had one little blip of nausea... I'm not hoping for it, but it would make this all more "real" if my body had more reactions..
@MrsHandler - I don't have MS yet...I've been a little nauseated here and there but nothing bad. I feel terrible for the ladies who have it already...its still real even without the MS, trust me.

That doesn't sound too abnormal unfortunately. HG is usually excessive vomiting. The nausea can be kept at bay with small frequent meals, unisom+B6, preggie pops, ginger or ginger ale, seabands.
Im a first timer so no idea what to expect! I have this kind of annoying rectal pressure. I keep feeling like I need to go to BR but don't. I go to the bathroom every AM no issues and it's not constipated. Although I feel really constipated...some movements I get twinges in my stomach. The rectal pressure and some mild pain is annoying! Is this normal for this early...id expect it later on. I'm only just approaching five weeks!
At what point do you call the doctor if your nausea is so bad? When do you know if you need a prescription?
MS is new for me :-(
I got meds last time and I never threw up. Once the nausea started interfering with my ability to work (basically just wallowed in self-pity all day, lol) I started taking them. Two days later I felt like a new person. I couldn't believe that it was possible to feel human again, but it was amazing!
We saw a heartbeat flickering away this afternoon! I'm so relieved after a scary start to this pregnancy due to my OB's obsession with early u/s. That was my last appt with her as I'm switching to a midwife. Can't wait to meet her on the 20th!!
So I had my initial blood work done a few days ago and just got a call from my dr's office saying my glucose levels were slightly elevated and now I have to go in for a 2 hour fasting GTT. I am freaking out. I had nothing like this when I was pregnant with DS, in fact I passed the glucose screening with flying colors. I don't meet any of the "risk factors" for GD. So WTH?? Does anyone have experience with this?
@mrsmoose5 what did you eat before your blood test? It may just be that you ate or drank something high in sugar shortly before and it showed up. I have no experience with high sugar (I'm actually hypoglycemic, so I have the opposite problem) but I hope it was just a fluke!
@FutureMrsCAF I don't remember specifically, but I know I did eat lunch right before I went, and probably drank a fruity San Pellegrino soda thing (I've been loving those lately and having them with lunch) and I just looked and they are loaded with sugar (33 grams!). I am so hoping that's what caused it. The soonest I could schedule the GTT is for over a week from now, so I'm sure I'm going to be panicking until then. Yay ...

Edited: for my crappy spelling
That prob didn't help ;-) But anyone can get GD, not just peiple at risk. I had it with my last pregnancy and I met zero of the risk factors too. Praying for good results for you!
Anyone else not seeing their doc at all until 12 weeks?? For my first, I went in at 8 weeks so I expected that this time around too. When I called to schedule the appt though, they said they would see Mr November 30th. I'm sure this is completely fine, but I'm a little bummed
I haven't even called my midwife yet, and probably won't until I'm about 8 weeks. Then, my first appointment will probably be in early December, unless she wants to see me sooner for some reason.

My first appt is 10/21, ill be almost 6 weeks. They said no sonogram, just blood work and history. Not sure what the norm is for Kaiser, but i guess I will get more info next week!

This is my third, and though my last pregnancy was 9 years ago, it started about 5 to 6 weeks each time with my first two...I'm enjoying my last few days of food being a pleasant experience, and being able to drink coffee!
I had my first appt due to spotting earlier last week. Everything looked great! Measured 6w1d right on track and saw the heartbeat it was a beautiful little bean. Next week I go in for the consultation with the nurse and blood work. We are going back in two weeks for another u/s, can't wait to see my bean again.

I had my first appointment today. I got to see my tiny little "sweet pea" and hear the heartbeat. After the red blood and severe back pain I was having a week ago I am feeling so much better!!!
I called my OB today to get the results of my HcG draws. They went from 113 to 1376 in 5 days. I am so relieved after having an early miscarriage in June. I go in October 31 for an ultrasound and to see my Dr. I'm getting more and more excited.
So I don't see the doc until the 21st. Seems a bit far off since I see other people posting they go in almost immediately to get blood work, etc. This would be my first so I'm not really sure what to expect. After the visit in the 21st they told me they would schedule my first ob appointment after that. Is this normal?
I feel the same way! I found out Saturday I was pregnant and went in today expecting them to test my blood every couple days to ensure things were moving along (I m/c in March), but she said that's not what they do unless you are a risk case and you have to wait 8 weeks. That's a long suspenseful time!
