**Everything Symptoms Goes Here (10/5-10/11)**

If you want to talk/ask about any symptom or non-symptom please use this weekly thread to do so. Do not post new threads as we are trying to keep the board organized. Feel free to use the format to talk about your symptoms (you don't have to, you can just make it more of a discussion). If you have a specific question put some sort of question trigger at the top so people don't skip over it. I'm not going to put a GTKY on this, That way the tread can be focused on symptoms. Im sure there will be plenty.

Re: **Everything Symptoms Goes Here (10/5-10/11)**

  • 9 weeks tomorrow!
    NASEAU:
And the naseau is horrible! I wake up I'm ok but as soon as I start getting dressed and moving, watch out cause the naseau sets in. I have always tried to avoid vomiting even before I was pregnant! But sometimes the naseau is so crazy that you just can't fight it and you end up vomiting! I am an angry vomitter as well, like demons are coming out, so you can imagine the fathers reaction at 7am when it sounds like the world is ending in our bathroom! Lol! This naseau lasts normally until 2p-3pm most days and comes back around late dinner time. Lovely, right?!
    BACKACHE:
When sleeping it's nearly impossible to find a comfortable position. Each side is uncomfortable, stomach is uncomfortable and back is ok but you're not supposed to sleep on your back.... I pretty much can't win!
    FOOD IS NOW MY FRENEMY!:
You need food so you can get over some naseau, and sometimes this works, other times it's vomit city! And the hard part is you really don't know what you can stomach until you can't stomach it and it comes right back up. This trial and error with food, is for the birds!
    BLOATING and CONSTIPATION:
Oh the bloating! Ughhh! Talk about feeling huge already even though the baby's only the size of a green olive! That's all the bloating! Pooping is like an Olympic event at this point, and you're happy when a few nuggets finally release, which are pathetic. (Sorry, TMI, but it's True!) I have an irrational fear that pushing too hard will somehow make me push out the baby ( highly, highly unlikely and unprobable) but I'm pregnant so I rationalize irrational thoughts all day!!

Those are my biggest and most annoying symptoms. But there's also the symptom of Worrying constantly! This one is a biggie and I haven't found a cure for!!!! Also weird dreams are true! And definitely mood swings!!

Hope I hear from others who are experiencing some of the same symptoms!

  • @pibsammyk21 it's sounds like your nausea is awful. Have you talked to your doctor? I think there is some sort of medicine for really bad nausea.

    Progress (week/day): 5w6d

Anything Symptoms: nausea is just starting. It's very minor and only comes once in a while. I really hope it doesn't get worse, but I'm sure it will. Bloating is my other big one, I hate it. I've actually lost a few lbs but I look way bigger because of the bloat. I'm ok with looking bigger if it's lil noodle but it's not right now.

    Rants/Raves/Questions: none right now.

Anything symptoms: Up until this point I haven't had any nausea, but I'm definitely nauseous this morning. It isn't too bad yet though. The bloating and constipation are super annoying and it makes me feel like I'm gaining too much weight too soon. DH told me he is going to throw the scale out this morning because I'm constantly worried about it. I have been having occasional cramping as well (about every other day) which is similar to my worst period cramping. Other than that I have just been extremely tired.

Rants/Raves/Questions: Of course nausea sets in for me this morning when I'm about to have three straight days of meetings at work to kick off a huge project. I'm praying I can make it through. This Friday morning I'm flying across the country for a girls weekend with two of my best college friends and I should be super excited, but I'm just so tired. I just can't wait to get through this week.

Anything Symptoms: nausea, bloating, cramping, stuffy nose, sleep issues

Rants/Raves/Questions: I cannot seem to sleep through the night at all! It's horrible! The smallest things wake me, I toss and turn almost twice hourly, and I can't seem to regulate my temp at night. Once DH leaves for work it's easier, maybe because I'm not worried about waking him. Does anyone else have this issue? Any advice? I'm exhausted all day because of it and I don't have the energy to do anything. :(

I'm also at the 9 week mark and the nausea and vomiting are so draining. It's really having an affect on me psychologically. I have a doctors appointment on Friday, so I'm hopeful they can help me find some sort of relief.

I have one. It's not doing the trick right now - I'm hoping it does soon, though!

@pibsammyk21 @Charla1224 - ask your doc for zofran. It's what is generally prescribed for pregnant women to help with nausea. They gave me some my first pregnancy and I got a prescription this time around to help me fly because my nausea is severely exacerbated by traveling.

    Pregnancy Ticker

  • Progress (week/day): estimated 8 weeks, 5 days. Will get an confirmed dating next Monday!

Anything Symptoms: Just tired. All of the time. Boobs are still tender. Cramping has made a comeback this weekend, which I am taking as a positive. Still no real MS to cry about, but feeling a bit off today. Sitting at my desk and I swear all I can smell is chicken and it is making me want to gag.

Rants/Raves/Questions: I struggled with a cold all weekend. Obviously cant take anything, so I just feel miserable. And when I am sick I get cold sores, and the preventative I have taken for years is a grade C for pregnancy. So woke up this morning with 2 lovely cold sores. GRRR. Was hoping to get to my appointment next week to ask the doctor what I could take, but of course couldn't make it that long without an outbreak. WAHHH :(

  • Progress (week/day): 6w2d (or 3d - somehow TB has two different dates for me. Go figure)

Anything Symptoms: Exhaustion. Pure exhaustion. I slept 9 hours Saturday into Sunday, was sicker than crap all day (headache that made me nauseous), took a 2 hour nap, slept 7 hours last night and still need more sleep. I've never been one to notice nausea so I'm assuming my lack of appetite and the fact that nothing sounds good (except cereal, Gatorade and Coke...awesome) is what mine is right now. And the bloat is real, folks. I'm officially wearing my belly band to work daily because buttoning my pants is just awful.

Rants/Raves/Questions: I'm a little freaked out by the slight cramping/pulling sensation I'm feeling in my uterus (or what I'm assuming is my uterus). I'm telling myself that it is normal and since I'm not bleeding, I shouldn't worry. But still. I'm ready for my doctor's appointment next week. I might be investing in a pregnancy pillow soon. Sleeping on my back feels the best but I know I shouldn't be. Like I shouldn't be drinking this Coke...but I am.
  • Progress: 6 weeks 1 day (I think?)

Symptoms: no MS to speak of, but some afternoons I seem to hit a wall and feel kind of carsick. My back and butt hurt, almost like I pinched a nerve.

Rant: I have the skin of a pubescent teenager. Pimples everywhere. DD was poking them yesterday. :( I also feel bad for DH because I can't stand being touched these days.

  • 8 weeks today and have had nausea for several weeks some stuff stays down others don't. Yesterday right on time full blown all day sickness. Nothing stays down even water at this point. So excited with this ms and a 1 year old running around and two full time jobs
  • Progress (week/day):
    6w1d

    Anything Symptoms:
Last night was my second night of heartburn, bad enough that I had to take zantac for it.  Blech.  I slept all night on the couch so that I could stay propped up and not have to lie down at all since that usually helps (I've had chronic heartburn in the past, but not for several years).  Other than that, rolling waves of nausea and on again off again indigestion after eating.  Extremely tired by the end of the day!

    Rants/Raves/Questions:
Rant:  I honestly don't know what gave me heartburn yesterday... most of what I had was tea.  If tea gave me heartburn, I don't know what to think.

  • Progress (week/day): 10 weeks exactly

Anything Symptoms: My symptoms seemed to be cutting down a ton on Friday and then came back stronger than ever on Saturday and are still going strong. I am nauseous all of the time and have been getting headaches. Also having trouble sleeping but also trouble staying awake. Get it together, body!

Rants/Raves/Questions: I am bloating insanely right now and look much farther along. I have gotten a few maternity items but was wondering where everyone else bought/will be buying their maternity clothes?
  • Progress (week/day): 6w6d

Anything Symptoms: I cannot stop burping! It's disgusting really. The gas has been pretty painful these past few days. I'm so backed up :( No fun. My appetite is gone. I was eating everything under the sun, now I can only eat a few bites at a time. My cravings though have ramped up. DH will get me whatever i'm craving (bless him), but then I can only eat a few bites before I start feeling sick. PB&J sandwiches, Gatorade, chocolate milk, and fruits are the only reliable foods I can eat. I laid on the couch this whole weekend which is so unlike me. I think DH is worried...He just keeps commenting how different i'm acting this pregnancy as compared to our DD.

Rants/Raves/Questions: So happy I'm hitting 7 weeks tomorrow. The hardest part of the whole thing is dealing with the worrying, and fear that something is going to go wrong. I can deal with any symptoms or unpleasantness....but if something happens to this baby.....*sighs* I just can't wait to hear that little heartbeat.

  • Progress (week/day): 8w6d (9 weeks tomorrow! Yay!)

Anything Symptoms: Hang-over variety nausea still. At first, I was worried that today it was getting worse, but now I think it's just because I've had a little less water today so far. I can deal with the nausea, soreness, etc, but managing everything the past few days has been making me more tired and irritable than I have been.

Rants/Raves/Questions: I'm anxiously awaiting my appt. on Wednesday since the one last week got cancelled. I really want to ask for more information about breast changes while pregnant and nursing...and weaning. That's one thing that's different for me this time around.

@sarawifenow my favorite maternity clothes have been from Gap, Old Navy, and the Liz Lange (sp?) Target line.
  • sarawifenow  I bought belly bands so far that have been a life changer. Waiting to buy maternity until after my 1st appointment next week, although there is some stuff I like on Zulilly today that is just waiting in my cart for me to check out. Feel like if I buy before doctor says everything is ok, Ill be jinxing it!

  • Progress (week/day): 8+2

Anything Symptoms: Nausea! Ugh. Unless I eat consistently throughout the day and only small meals I constantly feel nauseous. I told DH this morning I loved sleep and wished I could sleep all the time bc it's really the only time I don't feel nauseous. And aversions galore! Especially in terms of texture. If something is chunky in the slightest (i.e. Oatmeal) then I gag and then I end up feeling worse. I'm starting to run out of breakfast foods. Constipation... Yesterday I finally went after like 3 days and it was amazing. And heartburn. I seriously feel like the only things I want are spicy or acidic so that doesn't help. I need to buy stock in Tums.

Rants/Raves/Questions: Nausea needs to kick it now. I love sleep - daily naps are now my absolute best friend. My dad reacted much differently than I expected him to when I told him this weekend... Not in a bad way, but he was very emotional and started crying, which in turn obviously made me cry. It puts a smile on my face now thinking about it.
  • @FireInWonderland I've been having trouble sleeping, too, but have found a lot of relief by taking 250 mg of Vitamin B1 before bed. It can help a lot with stress and bad dreams, and helps me stay asleep and sleep deeper.

  • Progress (week/day): 10w3d

Anything Symptoms: RLS is one of the most annoying sensations I have ever experienced. Still nauseated and exhausted but maybe (maybe?) easing up a bit today.

Rants/Raves/Questions: Why does no one warn you that the first trimester is a puberty-level awkward phase? Seriously, I was probably less awkward as a tween. I just feel so frumpy and gross. Clothes are against me and I don't like belly bands - they squish all the pant material against my skin and it is uncomfy. Blarg.
  • Progress: 9 weeks tomorrow

Symptoms: Big fat goose egg... I was dealing with some sore boobs and tiredness, but over the weekend this seemed to all go away. I haven't felt any nausea. Some smell aversions but nothing that I can't manage. Bloat has gone away. Just feeling very not pregnant and losing hope but trying to not obsess... Anyone else?

Rants/raves/questions: I know others say it can be normal for symptoms to go away, but curious if others have felt this way their entire pregnancy? (I've had 3 ultrasounds and all have gone great and heartbeat is amazing. Just feeling like maybe I ate something that could've caused me to miscarry/lose symptoms?? No bleeding. Not sure if I did eat something I wasn't supposed to if I would most likely feel those symptoms of being sick??).
  • Progress: 6 weeks and 2 days

Symptoms: fatigue is hitting me the hardest! It doesn't seem to matter how much sleep I get, I still feel so tired. This morning I had to keep excusing myself from the OR room I was working in to go pace the halls because I swear I was going to pass out on my stool. Also in the middle of my first case this morning I had my first real case of nausea that ending in running out of the room and dry heaving in the trash can... joy

Rant/rave/question: so the past few days my stomach has just been feeling weird, but quite nauseas but like the feeling you get when your over coming a stomach bug... your appetite is starting to come back, but food still doesn't sound very good. Maybe that's why all I want to eat is soup, cheese and crackers, and Apple sauce..

This is me. Every day. Ill be 9ish weeks on Thursday. The only symptoms I have consistently had are some boob soreness and major fatigue. I keep telling myself "symptoms are not a reliable indication of a viable pregnancy" but I still cant shake the feeling that when I go for my 1st appointment next week, they wont be able to find anything or Ill be diagnosed with a blighted ovum. And I am freaking out.

    cat fail animated GIF

  • 9 weeks on Thursday, my carpal tunnel has returned like I had last pregnancy. My boobs are still killing me and I am having horrible sinus headaches. Cramping in my right ovary area (since the beginning of my pregnancy).
  • @yogahh I feel like I'm defective... I hope your appointment goes well. Again, I've had 3 US and all have been great, but why all of the sudden is everything so calm and MIA? Soreness of boobs is like a bare minimum now. Everyone keeps saying "you're just lucky". Not really feeling it, but glad I'm not alone. I'm sure your appointment will go great (as mine have and somehow I'm still unsure if it's real...).
  • I am 6w1d and my symptoms aren't too bad in comparison to those experiencing nausea and vomiting. I had dizziness and nausea early on, but that seems to have subsided. Right now I have breasts growing at a rapid rate and they hurt like crazy! My skin is super dry and itchy and my mood swings are insane. Cramping comes and goes and I freak out every time I get them. I saw my OB last week and he said it was completely normal. I'm really starting to learn my limitations and that I can't do everything. If I overdo it I get extreme headaches and feel faint.
  • I just needed somewhere to say.... I'm f*cking over vomiting! I'm over this whole pregnancy at this point.
I haven't been to the hospital for an IV because I am usually able to keep down one meal a day. I've figured that was good enough but this is depressing. I never imagined morning sickness to have such an emotional pull.
Ugh! I just want to crawl into bed and pray that this all subsides week 12.

  • @Kennedy0830 I am 10 weeks tomorrow and have absolutely no symptoms. I really haven't the entire time. I had a good scan at 6 weeks but am now terrified that something happened. I had major anxiety the last week. I have an appointment Wednesday and am just hoping nothing is wrong and I am just a super special snowflake that never gets pregnancy symptoms.... Good luck to you and I hope things are ok!

    Sleep issues, minor cramping, exhaustion

From everything I've read, this is all normal but man is it obnoxious! As a middle school teacher, sleep is a necessity... I wake up multiple times a night, can't get comfortable, and now I actually have to pee during the night.

Has anyone else experienced this minor cramping that comes and goes periodically? I've read that it's normal, but I'm still nervous.
  • @allen4tl thank you for sharing that. I needed to hear it from s few people. I'm sure all is fine, it's just hard experiencing nothing and trying to assume all is ok. I hope your appointment goes well - keep me posted! Mine isn't for 2 weeks so I'm borrowing my sister's Doppler to probably drive myself nuts with until I can find a heartbeat lol.... I know they say finding it before 12 weeks can be tough, but hey, why not...

I agree there is nothing like fresh air. The only problem is it's getting cold where I'm from. Highs in the low 60s and lows in the 40s

I had issues with my sciatic nerve with DD much later in my pregnancy, probably third trimester. I've always heard it happens when baby is big enough to rest on a nerve. However for the past week or so I've had shooting lower back/right butt cheek pain. It shouldn't be sciatic nerve issues this early, right? Has anyone else felt this yet?

I have no experience with this but I recommend going to a chiropractor. I've been going to mine once a month for a few years and it's amazing. I just went yesterday (first time while pregnant) and I think it's going to help so much throughout this journey.

  • Progress (week/day): 8 Weeks 4 days

Anything Symptoms: some Nausea, some exhaustion but nothing too crazy, lack of an attention span (which is super fun at work), gas, food/smell aversions. OH and weepiness, I burst into tears last night after I asked my hubby if he needed a drink because I needed more water and I didn't feel like getting up and he said no, then 5 minutes later I decided to get up and get water and he was like " can you get me a sprite". He ended up getting up and getting both of us drinks because the tears freak him out. I think I was just frustrated with him.

Rants/Raves/Questions: I JUST WANT A SODA but all soda tastes like cough syrup to me. OH AND I REALLY WANT DORITOS! But noooo they have MSG in them which makes me super sick. Stupid cravings making me want things I can't have.
  • Estimated 8w4d

Stomach cramps and diarrhea. For like two weeks straight. Last time I couldn't eat and was constipated. I can eat... I just don't want to because several times a day I get such bad gas and stomach cramps it feels not worth it.

I'm weirded out. Last pregnancy the first trimester sucked so bad. Now it's almost painless (previous symptoms aside) that I almost want to go pee on a stick just to make sure. Which is crazy.

I ate a whole bag of Doritos on Sunday before noon. Made DH go out and get them for me. I love that man. And Doritos.

  • Well I had some mild cramps and mild bleeding over the weekend. And now apart from being hormonal and weepy I'm right as rain! Still don't fancy food (ad a foodie this is really weird!!)

I had some blood this morning so I've made an appointment with the GP tomorrow to still my mind!

I'm 8/9 weeks, first appointment with the midwife is Friday woop!!
