Well this is only my second post on here so I guess I should do a little history. I'm 5w 6d with my second. My first was born 12/28/11 at 37 weeks after I had been in bed rest for the last two months due to hypertension. I was in labor with him for 38 hours, pushed for about 3 hours before I gave up and asked for a c-section. The c-section was awful! I vomited through the entire experience and with my phobia of vomit, weird I know, it was one of the worst experiences of my life. After I gave birth I had a very hard time bonding with my son. I wound up having to have a blood transfusion and was later put on a magnesium bag for post-partum preeclampsia while my little one spent time under the lights for high bilirubin. We finally left the hospital after 11 days. I suffered from terrible post-partum depression that bordered on psychosis for a year after that.
I now adore my 3 1/2 year old little one more than I could ever explain in words!
Fast forward to this pregnancy. Im over the moon happy to be pregnant, not at all like my last. However, I have had the worst miscarriage paranoia since I found out. Then last night, I started to bleed. We ran to the ER and had a vaginal US and saw a heartbeat. I was so relieved! Then the doc came in and told us I am having a threatened miscarriage due to a subchorionic hemorrhage. It is small in diameter but I'm still bleeding. I go back to the ER on Monday to recheck my HCG levels to make sure they're going up. On top of all of this I weaning off of my antidepressants and having terrible withdrawal symptoms ( dizziness, brain snaps, flu like symptoms.)
I don't really have a question but am hoping somebody has been through something hint similar and can give some advice. I put myself on bed rest until I can see the doctor again, as I read this can help. The ER doc just said, "take it easy."
TIA
Re: SCH/Preeclampsia
Don't google too much! It made me a little crazy at one point but take it very easy and have as much bed and chill time as possible.
I took arnica and it did help with the bleeding and was put on progesterone injections.
Bleeding while pregnant is horrifying! I have never been so scared and seen so much blood. I suggest getting a home Doppler, it saves my sanity! Every time I had a heavy bleed I would just listen to the baby's heart beat and felt at peace.
All the best!
As PP's have said - take it easy, stay on pelvic rest. Chances are if its small it has a great chance of re-absorbing!
