June 2016 Moms

Running Mamas!!

Just finished my 10 mile race this morning. I took it easy, 10 minute mile pace!!

I think I would like to sign up for a few more races before June just to keep me motivated to move, especially over the winter.

What races will you be doing? Any favorites? We like to travel to races too ☺️

Here is a pic for your enjoyment

Re: Running Mamas!!

  • Awesome job @NicknShan!! Cute pic, I'm jealous, my knee won't let me go too far, just did 4 miles with my little guy in a stroller around my neighborhood. I'm just thinking about a 5k though...thinking about it

@Wyattnash00 kudos to you with the stroller. That's impressive. I despise running with that awful thing. We bought a treadmill at a garage sale this summer (hehe) so I could avoid it. Now here's to hoping it stays operating.

  • Haaa, nice work with the treadmill @NicknShan! I'm not sure which is worse pushing the stroller or running forever on a treadmill :D plus I forgot to put more air in the stroller tires, ugh, brutal!

  • Score! I'm a 3-5 miler type, nothing too hardcore. I had signed up for a very hilly 4 mile race next weekend long before I even thought it would be possible that I could be pregnant and I'm still trying to decide if I want to run it. I did 3 flat miles this morning and felt awful...

Yes @redheadbride15 you got this. I felt like shit during this run. Way more mental than physical. Think of us when the going gets tough!!

  • 10 miles is a lot!! I would reward myself with all you can eat cheeseburgers, shakes and cupcakes! You ladies ever wore any sort of knee brace, feels like my knee cap slides over if that makes sense. I like to pretend there's nothing wrong, a solid mentality!

Awesome! I actually got in to Boston but I'm not sure if waking/running 26 in April is a good plan. I'm registered for the Revel Canyon City Marathon in Nov but I'm going to drop to the half and walk/run I think. Definitely taking first tri super easy.
  • I did the Teton dam half marathon in June, and had about a 9 min mile pace (which surprised me ALOT, I had been training at an 11 min mile pace) and I really think training with my jogger is what helped me (I ran the half sans baby stroller)

  • I've been jogging around but nothing consistent or impressive in terms of distance or pace. You all are my inspiration to stay the course. And I second the hate for jogging with the stroller. It seemed like such a great idea when we bought it...
  • You guys are great! I really need some cheerleaders. My husband is totally letting me be a whiney wimp right now. I won't be running any marathons (or even halfs) but if I could keep up the 5k distance at the least while preggo will really help me feel good.

  • @kattyleigh I am a Boston person, usually worker though! I run but not 26.2 miles haha :) Heard Boston was super hard to get into this year so congrats!

I've been keeping to the treadmill 5 miles and doing lots of spin!
  • @kattyleigh, way to rock the stroller! I was part of team rwb in NC, are you military?
