whooping cough while pregnant

Has anyone dealt with whooping cough while pregnant? Even though my five year old was vaccinated, she somehow got it. She is miserable, but the Dr put her on antibiotics. Only thing is, now I am coughing and have a sore throat. It's the weekend, so my Dr is closed but I don't want to visit the er. Any suggestions or ideas to get Me by til Monday?

    If you don't want to go to the ER can you go to an urgent care center?  Or does your dr have a 24 hour line to call in case of emergency?  I think it would be best to err on the side of safety and get looked at by someone.  Best of luck and hope you don't have it!  (And hope your 5 year old recovers soon!)

    You should call your Drs office and see if they want you seen right away. That's not your average ick and I'm sure the sooner you get treated the better- but hopefully it is "just a cold"

    I could be wrong but I think whooping cough when pregnant can be quite serious for bub. I would call ER/midwife and ask, and make sure you are being as germ savvy as you can (disinfecting hands regularly, and gargling mouthwash to kill the virus/bacteria which often first multiplies in ur throat).

    Call the on call dr. They'll probably ask that you come in. Suck it up for the sake of your baby just to be sure!
