June 2016 Moms

Is it possible.

This is probably a dumb question, but is it possible to squish you baby at this point? Like if you bend over too far?

Re: Is it possible.

  • Nah. Baby's teeny-tiny, and it has the amniotic sac to keep it cushioned -- not to mention your uterus and abdominal muscles and such. :)

  • Okay good. Before I started trying to conceive, I ballroom danced a ton. My teacher called this week and said I should come to the party this week so I did. When I leaned over to buckle my shoe I realized how bloated I am and I kinda freaked out that I had squished my baby.
  • Totally understandable; I know I'm hyper-aware of my belly right now, too! But it's totally okay! Even once you start showing, the amniotic sac and such will provide a lot of cushion from simple stuff like that. :) Just don't go doing belly flops on purpose after you start showing. ;)

  • Okay. Thank you so much!!! I love having this board. It really helps ease your mind.
  • The uterus is tucked behind your public bone basically the whole first trimester. Our bodies are made to pad and protect everything

Yes. Be extra careful not to bend over for ANY REASON, otherwise you'll squish the baby and give birth to a squash!! GL

  • @WinniethePoohsPants I know I know. It was a silly question. I just needed the reassurance.
  • @amangels2 you ballroom dance?! I used to do that too. Sorry totally random and off topic.
  • I completely get where you're coming from but I have to bring myself back to reality most times and remind myself that baby is just fine in there.  I do find myself being ultra aware of what I'm doing though.  I play sand volleyball and we've been in the playoffs for the past three weeks.  My last game is Monday and while I haven't stopped playing, I'm definitely not throwing myself around like I used to.  It's a balancing act between being both smart and reasonable given where we're at in our pregnancies.

  • @adiaz132003 I do!!! Well not as much anymore. I'm hoping that once my move is done and my iui is fully paid for that I can go back, even if it's just one lesson a month. We'll see. I've been dancing for about five years.

@mrsp2213 I agree. I keep reminding myself that women have been getting pregnant since the beginning of time. Our bodies are made for this.
  • @amangels2 DH have been dancing on and off for four years. Learned an Argentine tango for our wedding!!
  • @adiaz that is awesome! How fun. Argentine tango is a beautiful dance.

It really is. Love dancing, I even had bright red rhythm shoes with a sparkly buckle and those were my wedding shoes so I could dance comfortably all night haha.
