FFCF 10/2

Didn't see one started yet, so I'll shamelessly go first.

Last night/ this morning during my fit of "I can't sleep" I Facebook stalked my OB. And when i didn't find the answers I wanted, I may or may not have looked at his families facebooks as well :-S

I do that all the time. Stranger danger is a thing bc of people like me.

Edit bc the quote box failed me
  • My mom was in town this week visiting to help me get ready for the baby. I love my mom, but she is very overbearing and our personalities often clash so I'm very relieved she left last night. It was a stressful week for me and my husband!! I have to wonder if she was part of the reason my blood pressure was so high at my doctor's appt today...
  • One of my friends had her baby last weekend and while I'm so happy for her and glad everything went well, I'm quite annoyed with her mommy martyr posts on Facebook constantly! Especially after she was saying how she's such a private person and is going to keep him off of there and not say anything and that on there about it. I get that it probably isn't the easiest right now, but I feel like seriously act a little more appreciative of just how lucky and blessed you are to have a healthy baby!

So, I don't think I'm going to do this again. DH and I have been discussing it a bit and we're leaning towards adopting if we want more kids. My mother has already started mentioning us having more (christ, woman, let me get through this first one before you ask for more) and I told her it wouldn't be for a long time, and even then possibly adopting and she said "you'll forget about the bad things in pregnancy and you'll want your own kids" ... as if adopting a child wouldn't make them my own? What?

I think that's great and an amazing thing to consider!
  • I'm debating about having baby calling me by my first name, that seems like a bit much, maybe something else. But being called "mom" is the scariest thing in the world. I'm sure my opinion will change once she is here and grows up, but not right now!

  • I have eaten about 2 pieces of cake everyday since I made pumpkin spice cake, I regret none of it!
Also, I'm laying in bed, I had a 2.5 hour nap with DD and she's still sleeping next to me!
  • When my Doc told me she recommends modified bed rest and she'll write me a note for work, I was selfishly excited! I watched reality tv all morning :D
  • I just held DS2 for his entire hour and a half nap and my other DS cuddled next to us. I should feel guilty for not doing anything around the house but I don't!

No reason to feel guilty for cuddling with your babies! Won't be like that for long and housework is always going to be there!

  • Its my mom and aunts birthday today (they are twins) and I was in the hospital being monitored this morning so my grandma stayed there with me since my bf went disc golfing, she called my mom and told her I might have to deliver her birthday gift in a few hours (based off past and current medical history we were ready for any possibility) we were only there a half hour and they sent me home, but I use that and coming home to sleep as an excuse to not have to call her myself to wish her a happy birthday (she is 40 today ). I only feel slightly selfish.

I was so hungry and craving chipotle. When I drove in, the line was SO long. I started to cry and couldn't stop, so I drove home.

Edit - because words are hard

I literally did something similar at KFC the other day... I wanted a famous bowl and they were out of the bowls to put them in, so I started crying and left. I feel your pain!
Please tell me you got something else delicious to eat after?

  • I had my follow up appointment today to check on my placenta previa, the placenta has not moved enough and they told me today I had to have to a C section. I cried the whole way home. I know I should be happy that the baby is doing great and I am having no other complications, but i have a fear of surgery and it is just feaking me out. I had a c section with DS also, but t then I only had about half an hour to panic between the time I knew I needed a c section and when he was born.

The Wendy's by my house was out of chili the other day.. I cried because I then had to go get stuff to made home made chili... I was trying to be lazy...
  • I made a late night trip to the store just to get bubble bath. Then proceeded to buy a 10 dollar bubble bath/ body wash. It smells amazing and has no weird chemicals in it and all, but 10 dollars?!
I can't believe I paid for that. And it barely bubbled. But it smells good.
  • I just found out that they make "mattresses" for bassinets. With my first I thought that the thin little pad was what they give u to lay ur baby in & I thought that was ridiculous and uncomfortable so I folded a bunch of blankets to make more padding. Little did I know. Felt like an idiot when I found out.
  • This belongs here in ffcf, twat waffle Tuesday, and wtf Wednesday!!!!!

My mother in law thankfully lives in California, and for some unknown reason, she wasn't coming to see the baby until December 28. Almost 2 months later. My husband has been fairly upset, rightfully so. It's her first grandchild and she is making no effort to see him when he's fresh. His dad and step mom are coming so it would just be nice for his mom to see him before Christmas.

So we just bought her plane ticket. And she is REFUSING to come. She is giving us every excuse under the sun of why she can't come.

At this point, she's being such a bitch I don't even care she won't see my kid, I'm pissed I may be out $300.

My bassinet specifically says NOT to put additional padding in it. Just the little pad that comes with it.

Oh I would be livid. I'd ban her from my home.

Ready for it? She has a conference on Nov 16. We were flying her home on the 14th. If you're failing to see how that interferes with her conference then join the club.

that gives her a whole DAY/NIGHT to deal with any potential jet lag! I'm sorry, that's a rough situation :(

I mean clearly that really messes with her scheduled. How rude of you to buy her a plane ticket to see her grandchild.

  • My OB lectured me on eating too many carbs/too much sugar, because he thinks I've gained too much weight (32 week appointment, I'm up 24 lbs from my wellness trip in January, which is what he was basing it on.  I didn't think that was excessive?).  I was at the mall yesterday looking for a birthday gift for DH (with all the house buying/moving garbage these past 2 months, I don't have anything prepared!  I'm usually on top of this stuff!), and I had Auntie Anne's pretzel bites for lunch, just to spite my stupid OB.  No regrets.

WHOA. What airline did you use? You might not be able to get your money back, but you might be able to get credit to your account that you just need to use within a year. Bonus points if you two (three!) make other plans for Christmas this year.

  • I contacted orbit today about my broken stroller. (The one my husband ran into with his car). The parts are on back order until February at the earliest. I gave them a sob story (basically lied my ass off) and told them I didn't know how the stroller broke. It is still technically under warranty, and they are going to replace the parts for free. They will be here in 5-7 days. I don't feel guilty in the slightest since I tried to pay for said parts.

Glad you are getting it fixed! That says a lot for their customer service!

I'm a day late but hey! Why not. I ordered a Gouda, ham, onion, pineapple pizza last night... Ate almost the whole thing myself and paid for it in heart burn. Totally worth it.

That is an average weight. Tell your OB to suck it. Eat those pretzels!
