NEWCOMERS:
To be added to the Weekly Checkin, please answer the following:
1. How long have you been TTC?
2. What is your diagnosis?
3. What is your current treatment plan?Question
of the Week: What was your favorite toy as a child?
Re: TTTC Checkin - 09/27/2015
QOTW: this might be cheesy, but my imagination. I played make-believe games with my siblings and by myself all the time. It helped that we lived in the woods - a great back drop for make believe games of lost kids, fairies, and hidden villages!
@Drove2u I'm so sorry you had to cancel your trip. I hope everything gets resolved soon. Hugs!
TTC since May 2014.
Aug 2014 BFP, EDD April 22, 2015. Low progesterone, started suppositories. Loss at 5w6d.

AMH results 0.42, 1.2; FSH 12.1, AFC 10, dx DOR.
RPL testing results normal. Nurse recommended progesterone suppositories in TWW.

Favorite childhood toy...love my barbies and JEM doll!
No Folic acid/pharmaceuticals/supplements (too many to list- private message me if interested), IVIL infusion
I go for my IUI this morning. This will be my 4th and I'm hopeful that this will finally be my cycle.
Did Bravelle this month and I wound up with two follicles on Saturday am: a 19 and 16. Triggered Saturday night.
Really really hoping this is it!
ETA: favorite childhood toy was an amazing doll kitchen. It wasn't a Barbie one; it was kind of generic and green but it had everything with extreme detail and was big. It was a little girl's dream.
Good luck ladies!
2. What is your diagnosis? Unexplained Infertility
3. What is your current treatment plan? Had an IUI on 9/24 and if not pregnant, then I will be starting Clomid next cycle with plan for another IUI

Favorite toy: easy bake oven also. I thought it was cool and adult. Meanwhile in my real adulthood I'm a terrible baker. Lol
@Drove2u More Hugs coming >:D< Hang in there, you got this!
@Whiggrrl65 GL with your IUI today
My update: Currently on CD17 and 1DPO. I went in to see RE on 9/24 for u/s and I had 1 mature follicle at 19mm and possibly another grower. Lining was at 10 and I was prescribed BD for Friday and Saturday. Unfortunately only got 1 of those days in, but hey- you take what you can get. Totally natural this cycle, but I was blessed with decent numbers. Hoping for a miracle implantation as I go through my 2ww.
QOTW: Probably my Cabbage Patch kid and Cricket doll. The Cricket doll would talk to me and somehow her hair started coming through her mouth, I thought the doll became possessed. I was really afraid of her after that. Cabbage Patch kid got #1 spot after that incident.
TTC- since we got married (off and on)
TTC with focus: Since July 2015
December 2015: Starting 1st IVF cycle
January 2016: Retrieval
March 2016: Pending Transfer (I have 3 PGS tested embryos waiting for a womb)
April 2016: BFP, the old fashioned way.
I'm just waiting for my cysts to go away. I don't get to go back in for monitoring until 10/6. Luckily, the pain has gone away for the most part. I don't feel my right side anymore, which is the side that had 3 big ones. I'm thinking and hoping this is a good sign. Strangely, though, I started feeling the 2 not as large ones on my left side. That kinda worries me a little since I didn't feel them when I was first diagnosed last week. They only really bother me if I'm placing more weight on my left side when sitting or if I bend to the side. I'm just hoping it doesn't mean they are getting bigger. Maybe the pain from the right was just too distracting and I just didn't previously notice the left. I guess only time will tell!
We refer to the birth control pills I need to take as "irony pills." It keeps me laughing each evening when I take them. My husband set an alarm on his phone so I wouldn't forget, and he'll just exclaim it's irony pill time!
In the meantime, I am heavily investing myself in all your outcomes and living vicariously through your experiences!
QOTW: I can't really remember my favorite toy. I was a huge tomboy and always outside playing baseball, football with the neighbors, and tennis. My childhood memories are pretty much sports-related.
We've been trying for over 2yrs
Unexplained
Had 2nd IUI on 9/21 with 7.5mg femara days 3-7 and triggered on 9/20. Had 3 follicles this month so have FX this works this time
It's so nice not to be in this alone. I wish I could take everyone's struggles and fix them! Including mine :P
I'm on TWW right now. To be honest, not feeling that hopeful because while I managed to TI and trigger when needed- I had no ewcm that I'm aware of. One more thing to talk to the dr about!
Favorite toy growing up, I would have to say my bike. Once I learned how to ride it, it was like a bit of freedom in the neighborhood. I even rode to my friends houses that were miles away! And we used to take it camping, I'd ride all over the campgrounds.
Past Treatment: Clomid + Metformin x 3 BFN
Letrozole 5 mg + Trigger shot + IUI = BFP!
Beta confirmed 8/22
EDD 5/1/17
QOTW: My favorite toy was my Waterbaby. I just remember being a kid and waking up soaked to discover my baby leaked all over the bed. After that my parents patched it and filled it with air.
So I have officially done all the testing and am waiting for the results...based on cd 21 bloodwork I am not ovulating but after the hcg i was told that my tubes weren't blocked so now we are waiting for the results of the u/s and dh's sa...hoping to hear tomorrow this waiting to find out is driving me crazy especially knowing part of the problem...
My fave toy as a kid was my Polly pocket I loved them and had several different ones and liked to make back stories to them all.

@Drove2u I'm so sorry. I'm sending you all the internet hugs in existence.
I'm still trying to get all my ducks in a row for my 1st appointment. Insurance approved my referral but RE office still hasn't received my records from the OB. We were able to scramble and get a SA on DH before he left and his pcp messaged him through their online patient portal and said everything was normal but they didn't tell us any numbers. After my last OB appointment when my AMH came back high (9.5 ng/mL) and I had a lot of follicles during my SIS my OB wanted to check my testosterone and DHEAS to evaluate me for PCOS because of my history of irregular cycles. The nurse called to tell me those came back normal. So I'm just counting down the days until November 12.
My favorite toy was probably my Super Nintendo. But I was also obsessed with barbies and Polly pockets.

I am thinking of all you ladies. Giving hugs to those who need them and keeping my fingers crossed for others.
Trying to stay positive here and as relaxed as possible. I’m on CD16. Our 2nd and final IUI was this past Friday and the OB said to BD Friday – Monday. We were very hopeful as we had 2 follies at 25 and 27 then triggered Thursday. We try every cycle to not get too excited or stressed, but that is so hard. Come Sunday we were so positive, my temp jumped up, hopefully indicating ovulation on Saturday (though with Clomid I hear that’s not always reliable). However, since Sunday we have been hit with an enormous amount of stress within our family which halted our BD and perhaps ruined our chances during this final treatment of IUI before we are referred to an RE.
I am trying to stay positive that we got in an IUI and two great BD sessions before my temp increased, Sunday and Monday weren’t necessary. I say that to DH to help his emotional state, but I am worried and angry that our missed days and stress level may have moved us from our OB to the RE and this cycle is a bust. I know I cannot focus on the “what ifs”, by CD16, we either conceived or didn’t. If by some miracle we conceived this cycle I do not want to harm our chances by stressing about our family, but it is not easy.
QOTW: I loved this teddy bear my mom got as a gift with purchase from a department store, he was nearly as big as I was. I use to sneak in her closet and take the bear, hold him till she drove up the drive way, then run it back to her closet before she walked through the door. One year we were awfully tight on money and for my birthday she wrapped up the bear and gave it to me. That was nearly 30 years ago, he now sits on a shelf in our spare room waiting for the day little arms will drag him everywhere once again.
Paying OOP adds an unfair, extra level of stress to this process, but I can't believe the added cost to you based on your same-sex relationship. Do some research online and see if there are any grants available to same-sex couples in your position. In New Orleans, we have an organization called Forum for Equality. I wonder if you have any similar organization where you live. Maybe you can contact them and they can help you find a grant program or perhaps a funding opportunity. Good luck to you!

I actually have an update of sorts. I spoke to my insurance company today, and they said my initial diagnostic testing, even if it is to diagnose infertility, is covered under my normal plan. I have a high deductible plan with an HSA, $2600 deductible per person or $5000 family max per calendar year. So I'm actually glad now that our initial consultation isn't until December - most of the testing will be in the new year then so we can start fresh. If we go beyond $2600 for either one of us, the plan covers the rest at 100%.
Then artificial reproductive technologies (including IVF of it ever comes to that) to help us get pregnant have a lifetime max of $25,000. So anything before we are trying to get pregnant, that is just for diagnosis, is covered normally, and the fertility drugs, IUI or IVF fall under the $25,000 lifetime max.
I'm feeling better about our next steps, knowing that I have good coverage for testing, some for treatment, and the clinic I'm going to start with is in network so I'll get better pricing. And also now I'm really happy we stretched to put $200/month into the HSA so we have enough in the HSA to cover that full $5000 out of pocket max, should we need it next year! Feeling reall lucky to have coverage like this, if we need it.

I don't know whether I should call my RE or not if I get another one tomorrow. If it will actually help me move forward on Tuesday, I'll take a migraine every day, but I don't want to go through this for nothing. I've given up on only taking tylenol. I'm thinking it shouldn't really matter at this point since I'm not even stimming yet.
