Hello There! My husband and I have been TTC for almost 2 years now and haven't had any luck. I am 26 years old and he is 28. I am healthy other than a bit overweight. I have been diagnosed with PCOS by some doctors since I was 17 and other Doctors have said I don't have it. No cysts have ever been seen on my ultrasounds. I have irregular periods sometimes I don't get a period for 2 or 3 months and other times it's regular. When we started trying we just did the deed regularly and figured it'd happen when it was supposed to and it never did. After a year we got worried and started taking ovulation tests (none of which have ever come up positive) and spoke to my OBGYN who told me to just keep trying since I'm young it should happen. 1 yr and 10 months later here we are! 2 wks ago I went to a new OBGYN (because my last was kind of an insensitive jerk) who ordered blood work to check thyroid, progesterone, estrogen, glucose, cholesterol, and another to see if my Fallopian tubes are clear and all came back perfectly normal except my progesterone was way too low which means I didn't ovulate she said. She ordered my husband to get a SA (I've never seen my husband so worried about anything!) and he did and that came back normal so she finally gave the go ahead to begin provera and then clomid. I am on day 5 of provera now and I feel like crap but I'm so thankful to finally take a step toward what we hope so much is success! She also ordered another progesterone blood test during my first clomid cycle on day 21 to make sure it is working but I don't have any ultrasounds or anything scheduled which I've heard is common. I am so thankful that this kind of community exists because it's a scary thing to go through and to hope so much every month that this will finally be it and get crushed once again. Here's to hoping for babies and staying sane while waiting. Thank you all for being so open and honest in your posts! It really helps to know someone else out there understands the struggle when everyone around you is falling accidentally pregnant. (Although I am truly happy for them, just a bit jealous). Looking forward to being a part of the community and supporting each other in this chapter of our lives!
Re: New to The Bump. TTC almost 2 years.
If you are annovulatory, you should definitely see a board certified RE rather than an OB IMO... So a few things they might not tell you but you need on your first cycle, (again, IMO): 1) clomid only works a few times then you're SOL and need new meds.
2) clomid thins your lining! They aren't monitoring so do what you can, especially drink red raspberry leaf tea every day (not alternative med, actually proven to work and encouraged by REs).
3) clomid and letrozol both disturb the production of egg white CM needed if you're not doing IUI. Make sure to support with an aid like preseed if you don't notice any fertile CM.

Welcome and good luck to you with the clomid treatment. I am also similar to you in our history, although I'm a bit older (37) but I have PCOS and am slightly overweight, have never ovulated on my own, and needed provera at first to induce my period. I currently take femara which is very similar to clomid, but I've found that the follicles (which they'll eventually check in an ultrasound for you!) don't grow without taking injectibles, so agree with @alqizwik you should ask about those if the clomid alone doesn't help. The only downfall I've found to that is that it can get pricey if you're paying Out of Pocket, but there are ways to save if you look around. I hope your stay on here isn't long but I think you will find it's a great place to get support if you need it: all the girls are very nice and can definitely relate!
TI for 4 cycles: 1 round of femara; 2 rounds femara/ injectables: all ended in BFN.
