    Weeks: 14 (on Wednesday)

What's new with baby?: Apparently he can grimace...not sure if that's a good thing! Size of a lemon (well, on Wednesday, for now a peach, which honestly seems larger than a lemon, but whatever).

What's something new you are doing for baby?: We're starting to tell people. Also, we're close to finalizing a name and are planning what we need to do to get the nursery set up.

Symptoms/Rants/Raves: I am going to try to incorporate some light yoga over the next week. I feel gross, out of shape, and super unattractive. I'm not on pelvic rest anymore so I really need to get back at it.

Questions?: Shooting boob pain, normal or just super annoyingly specific to me? Discuss.

GTKY: What is your favorite animal, or what animal best represents you, and why? I love horses, and always have. We live on a farm now (well, in farm country, on a lot of land, and have chickens so I say it's a farm, hubby disagrees, but he's not on this website, so it's a farm) and could technically fence in a pasture and get one, but don't have the money. I think when both kids are out of college I may finally be able to realize my dream of riding across the downs on my sweet sidekick, Shakespeare. We'll see.

ETA: I don't know why mine is italicized...sorry.

What's new with baby?: Baby is getting stronger and getting chubbier :)

What's something new you are doing for baby?:Eating lots of fruit and veggies. Still cannot eat any meat. I am on a clothing/item hiatus for shopping until we find out the sex on 10-8 I cannot wait.

Symptoms/Rants/Raves: It feels like my stomach is being stretched like how you pull the arms on a stretch armstrong doll from the 90s.

    Questions?:

GTKY: What is your favorite animal, or what animal best represents you, and why? A Lion.

What's new with baby?: LO is twice the size of last week and has a strong heartbeat of 140/min

What's something new you are doing for baby?: Going on hour long walks with my mom or DH in the evenings and still working on getting the nursery prepped!

Symptoms/Rants/Raves: Appetite is definitely coming back, my lower back is starting to hurt and have been having a few sleepless nights.

    Questions?:

GTKY: What is your favorite animal, or what animal best represents you, and why? I've always loved flamingos and elephants. Flamingos because I've found them fascinating since I was a little girl and elephants because they are absolutely beautiful, strong and intelligent and I love what they represent.

What's new with baby?: Avacado size I think? And I felt some movements today!

What's something new you are doing for baby?: I went to a class on baby wearing over the weekend and I'm super excited about trying it out when LO arrives. I'm drooling over a maya ring sling now and have an ergo lined up from a friend :)

Symptoms/Rants/Raves: Starting to feel better, slowly but surely. Not enough to stop taking the B6/unisom, but when I take it I feel pretty good and I'm getting my energy back.

    Questions?: None at the moment

GTKY: What is your favorite animal, or what animal best represents you, and why? My daughter asks me this all the time. I usually go with elephant, but for no real reason... baby elephants are pretty adorable though.

  • Weeks: 18!

What's new with baby?: sweet potato is moving up a storm... tiny ninja!

What's something new you are doing for baby?: trying to get more exercise in my day.

Symptoms/Rants/Raves:  I'm tired.  Could be from work though.  I can't believe I am signed up for a 5k in two weeks (walking,) what was I thinking??

    Questions?:

GTKY: What is your favorite animal, or what animal best represents you, and why? I like cats... wish I could lay around and get cuddles in the sun all day.
  • Weeks:
    18 on Wednesday

    What's new with baby?:
Movement is definitely more obvious now. Sometimes it catches me by surprise and I find myself freezing and forgetting what I was doing.

What's something new you are doing for baby?: lots of exercise. Need to work on our name bracket before my anatomy scan. People are starting to ask about it.

Symptoms/Rants/Raves: The leg cramps have officially started. I was woken up twice this week with severe leg cramps and spasms. Ugh! I also am feeling like belly is starting to really stretch.

    Questions?:

GTKY: What is your favorite animal, or what animal best represents you, and why? I have always loved and been fascinated by wolves. I used to want to be a zoologist and live in the arctic studying them. I am also one of those weird people who like the cold.

What's new with baby?: I've been hosting a private dance party for the last three nights!

What's something new you are doing for baby?: We're now waiting until our 19w anatomy scan before we start on anything else in baby's nursery or purchases.

Symptoms/Rants/Raves: I suffered from Hyperemersis from week 5 through to 14, now, I'm having some relief but I am still nauseous and vomiting at least Once a day and I am SO. OVER. IT. I'm at my wits end with it and my poor husband has been dealing with the brunt of my emotional state surrounding it. I'm also feeling a bajillion degrees all the time and it's really hard to sleep feeling so hot. Also, so much bloody mucus every time I blow my nose! Which seems to be rather frequently although I'm not sick! Ugh!

    Questions?:

GTKY: What is your favorite animal, or what animal best represents you, and why? Cat lady. I'm so down for the life of being lazy in the sunshine sleeping all day and being snugged on demand.
  • 18 w (on Thursday)

What's new with baby? Getting eye lashes. Hopefully dad's.

What am I doing for baby? Researching baby gear. I am a planner and have a lot of anxiety about being prepared. It's my first and I guess that's why everyone else seems more excited than me.

    Symptoms/ raves / rants:
Headaches!!! They spread to my jaw and my teeth hurt! My sister said all your joints tend to loosen which sucks because I was born with joints that are too loose. Also starting to notice slight appetite increase and lots of belly stretching.

    Questions?:

GTKY: What is your favorite animal? What animal represents you? I love all animals. I was a wildlife major and I train service dogs. But I think my favorite animals are birds in general. Love their songs, their behavior and the amazing intelligence of some species. I think a cat represents me better. Lots of resting and plenty of exploring and hunting.

What's new with baby?: he/she is the size of an onion (I personally think that would be a BIG onion lol)

What's something new you are doing for baby?: I got all my baby gear this weekend, had my 16 week appointment a little late, and I went to the perinatal center in Syracuse to have a consultation on strategies to prevent preterm labor. I finally got my 20 week a/s appointment and started my Makena shot (one of the strategies discussed regarding preterm labor prevention).

Symptoms/Rants/Raves: my biggest symptom right now is gaining weight. I've had one or 2 b-h contractions but they were like 2 weeks apart.

    Questions?: nope

GTKY: What is your favorite animal, or what animal best represents you, and why? OMG my favorite animal is my doxie Sherman! He is such a sweetheart and no one understands how much he means to our family. 4 years of ttc with no luck, so he has become our make - shift second child :). I love him to pieces!

What's something new you are doing for baby?: Kind of starting to look at diaper bags.  I have one but it will be too small for 3 kids (lets face it, diaper bags are not just for baby).  Kind of waiting until we find out sex to really make a decision.

Symptoms/Rants/Raves: Lots of stretching going on in my belly - I can't believe how much bigger my belly will get but it gets there every time.  BH ctx are showing up and can be painful.  Lightning crotch.  Nausea is almost a distant memory thank goodness.  I'm finally able to eat dessert again.  Still overly exhausted.

    Questions?: nope

GTKY: What is your favorite animal, or what animal best represents you, and why? I love dogs, especially golden retrievers and labs.  We had to get rid of a big beast of a black lab last Christmas because something inside of his head snapped and he was way too unpredictable around our kids.  We have another lab mutt who is on her last legs with major hip problems. I'll be so sad to see her go when it's time - she was my baby.  We probably won't do dogs for a looooong time after she's gone.

Amen to that. They are already E's (started at D's) and I keep bumping into them, which isn't helping with the stabbing pains. Grr...I thought I remembered a blissful period of non-boob pain/ boob hating in my last pregnancy...but this one seems to be determined to prove me wrong. (Don't get me wrong, I'm happy they are doing their "thing" but just wish it didn't have to be so uncomfortable.)

  • @klgiles12 I wouldn't call myself a yogi, but I have had to modify by resting more on my forearms or just going back into child's pose (with my knees a little further apart than usual to accommodate belly!) instead of Sphinx/Cobra (or whatever pose that is at that point in the sequence)...does that make sense? There's one other pregnant lady in the class with me; she's at 34 weeks and laying flat on her tummy!! (At least that's what it looked like from my angle!) I asked her how on earth she was doing that, and she said she did modify by going up on her arms more.
