Know what you mean, I was so excited to find a pair of black leggings to wear under a dress but the elastic was too tight. Decided that I would just have to break out the scissors cut them and hope for the best.
Ugh, I was just lamenting about this today! The rubber-band trick doesn't work well for me (makes me look like I have swamp a**) and I've been doing the ole "keep 'em unbuttoned until the very last second before I'm in public," but at 12W6D now that's even too uncomfortable for me.
I look like this:
My solution the past couple days was to walk around unbuttoned all loosey goosey & I've been irritable enough to feel like IDGAF if people can tell, but I'm realizing this is not a sustainable game plan throughout the winter. I personally LOVED my 3 summer pregnancy's because I could wear a big, loose dress and flip flops for my cankles.
Like someone else mentioned, I think oversized tops with leggings are going to have to get me through. Does anyone know of nice thick leggings that you can't see through in 2 wears?

My friend who is 7months pregnant is wearing leggings/yogapants she got from Target. She said she got em in the very beginning of her pregnancy and they still fit comfortably. She recommended getting em so I'll be on the lookout next time I'm there.
I'm constantly cold, so leggings, yoga pants, sleeping pants and stretchy jeans are a blessing. The only time I wear shorts is when I know I will be outside for an extended period of time since it's still rather hot in Texas
There are so many cute styles now with drawstrings or elastic waists that I find it's been EASIER to find pants that fit nicely than skirts! Usually I hate the casual comfy look day to day (I like to get more dressed up for work) but right now at 12 w 3 d I'm LOVINNNNG IT.
So this thread is super old but I'm hoping to bring it back to life because I'm completely over pants. I want to get some maxi skirts but have no experience with them (even pre-pregnancy I never wore them). Does anyone have anywhere that they found some they really liked or even have a specific skirt that they'd recommend?? I'm 5'7" and I've always felt like I'm just slightly too tall for them to look right but I want to give this another go, for comforts sake.

I've bought some from Gap that I really like. Not maternity, but you could prob wear them pregnant. It's too cold for me to wear mine now, but it's super comfy.

I'm only 5'1" so I have to hem mine, but I don't think at 5'7" you should have too much trouble if you're wearing flats. I still fit in my pre-preg skirts because I wear them under my belly. Also, the beauty of the maxi is that they look amazing on everyone - my BFF is 5'11" and looks great in them!

I'm 5"4', and I found a few maxi skirts from Target and Old Navy that still fit me. I pull the band over my bump, and then make sure I have a tank under my shirt so you can't see that I have a skirt pulled up to my neck, LOL.
