Just found out at 38 weeks 4cm! If no baby by 39 weeks getting induced.

They won't admit you at 4cm? My hospital will admit at 4cm or more. I guess you'd have to be having labor signs as well

Good luck @proudmama15 !! My Dr doesn't do checks unless I show signs of complications.

I'll be 37 weeks Tuesday and am getting my GBS test, so maybe I'll ask for a check while he's down there lol.

I was 4 cm at 38 weeks with my first and didn't go into labor until 41 weeks 2 days. I'm declining checks with this baby and Dr's office seems to lean that way now too... It's almost an afterthought at my appointments they're like "oh did you want your cervix checked?" lol and FYI they wouldn't send me to the hospital at 4 because I wasn't in labor. Dilation and effacement aren't an indicator of anything more than your body prepping for the real deal, kind of like Braxton hicks....

38|3 and I'm a one! Barely a one with a ton of contractions. Steady at 20-30 minutes apart around the clock. Oh well. Such is life. Baby will decide when he/she is ready to join mama and daddy.

At 38 weeks at my appointment , I was between 4.5 and 5 cm (and 75% effaced and bulging waters). I am already scheduled for induction in 4 days when I hit 39 weeks. I haven't had much in terms if cramping or contractions, so they just want me to wait it out. My doctor did say that if I go into labor, it will likely move very quickly.

Im at 39 weeks and no dialation. Even if it's no real sign of when she may come i wish i could at least feel like i'm making some progress.

At 34 weeks I was 3cm and 70% effaced. I walked around for 4 weeks 4cm dilated with my first so I'm not holding my breath for any action. ..

37+5 days and 3cm dilated 50% effaced. Maybe I'm just psyching myself out after my appointment his early but I'm so much more uncomfortable!! All that rooting around down there made my uterus hurt

38 weeks 4cm, 80% effaced, baby is at 0 station. My doc predicted the baby will be here by my next appointment (next Wednesday). I am not counting on it though. I have heard of women hanging out for a couple weeks this far along.

@McRad Are your contractions braxton hicks or more real-feeling? Im 38+4 and been having tons of BH's, and then just today started getting some menstrual crampy style ones with some back pain.

I'm 38 weeks. I've been 7 cm dilated, 100 % effaced and at station 0 for a week. With a bulging sac! Doc is stripping my membranes today. (She is still in disbelief that I haven't had this baby yet.) This is our second so I'm hoping for a fast labor! But, I've had no contractions in the past 5 days. Not even BH!

@Louisl I wish! They are the real deal, make you sit up a little straighter and grab onto the side of the couch for a second. Cramps and discomfort are with nearly each one. Some are still BH but majority of them aren't anymore. It has pushed the baby so low I'm afraid if my water breaks I'll be catching the little one right after. Eek. I know that's not what's really going to happen but within the week or two of this change, baby has gotten very very low in there.

FTM 39 and 2cm, cervix 1cm long, with lots of BH, especially at night, but nothing "real" (I think...). Got checks cause i opted for membrane sweeps. I wish being partly dilated meant something!:) But comforting (deluding??) myself that maybe it means things will go faster when the time comes. Lol.

At 36 weeks, was at 2 cm. 37 weeks now, Dr. Checked yesterday, 2-3. I have to have a cerclage with each pregnancy, and it was removed at 36. Without would for sure go into early labor.

I'm jealous of everyone who is dilated and effaced, even a little bit. I'm 38w 5d and not dilated, not effaced and he's at -3 station. I don't want to go to 41 weeks!

@julianas1029 you're definitely not alone there. When I got checked they said I wasn't dialated either. I'm 39w 1d. It is a bit discouraging but I do know it doesn't always mean anything. We just gotta hang in there lol

@julianas1029 and @ROritz07 - I am in the same boat at 37w. 0% dilation and baby has not dropped. If my cervix has not ripened by 39 weeks we will have to weigh the options of either induction or c-section. For medical reasons, baby needs to be out by 40w.

36 week appt is in 2 days. It's been 8 years since I've been pregnant. I'm anxious to know if I will be checked or not! Last baby came 12 days early. If he follows his brother than I have 17 days left!
