One more day from today. Really. My goal is to get through each day. BFing is a struggle. I can't keep up with him no matter how much I nurse on demand, pump after multiple feedings a day, etc. So long as he is getting more than half of his needs from me I will keep it up. I think he's currently getting most from me (maybe 3-4 ounces of formula per day depending on the day).
I hate BFing. I kept it up for 8 months with my first before we got to the point where we were at less than half from me.
My goal pre-birth was until his first birthday. After I started and realized how hard it was, my goal became making it from one feed to the next. Then it changed to day to day. Little man is currently 3 weeks 3 days and my goal is til hes 4 weeks. I reevaluate it each time I accomplish my previous goal.
As for what the plan is when I go back to work (3 13hr shifts/week), I honestly don't know. I'm just trying to make it through now!

I'm aiming for 1yr. I go back to work next week and plan to BF him whenever I can before and after work until he's 6mo. After 6mo I wanna BF him in the mornings the give him pumped the rest of the day.
I'm hoping for at least 6 months. DS1 quit at about 6 months. BF was an awful fight with him. He would scream constantly and then vomit a lot during the time I BFed him. Turns out he was allergic to milk....even mine. DS2 was BFed until about 6 months. DH accidentally sabotaged my BFing. He'd give him formula to give me a break (which was sweet of him) but nursing less caused my supply to tank. DS3 was BFed until almost 8 months. He loved the boob and boob only. I wanted to BF him longer, since it was going so well, but I picked up a bug while we were visiting family that made me so sick (I had a fever for 4 days and was unable to care for myself) that my supply stopped. So far it's going good with DD, so barring anything this time, maybe we can make it past 6 months.
I'm really hoping to make it to a year and then pump milk for bottles for him maybe to 18 months. We have made it through 2 months and it has gotten considerably easier than the first few weeks but it's still not easy! Hopefully I can manage to make it to my goal
My goal is to one year for both nursing and pumping. At that point I will definitely stop pumping. I will see how things are going to decide if I will continue nursing. I nursed DD until she was a little over 2.
I plan to BF until she starts teething and then I may start pumping for milk. I can tell already that she is going to be a biter! She takes bottles with no problems, but the nursing for comfort part is what I'm thinking she will miss the most
I love BF'ing. Honestly. I'd love to do it for a year. We got it down great 3 wks ago. Then last week we took a step back when her reflux got worse and so did her latching on. It's so heartbreaking because I do enjoy it. I pump every 2 to 3 hrs and as many of you heard me bitching and whining about it before, my supply absolutely sucks even with all the pumping, the water, the oatmeal and some other suggestions. I'll be lucky if I make it to 3 months. I give her as much as I can and I'm just happy that for the past 24 hrs, I didn't have to give her formula (which seems to make her reflux worse) but I don't want to give up and I'm going to try my hardest for a year even if it is only a bottle a day.
