Membrane sweep and cramping

Today I am 40w and 3 days. Yesterday I had contractions about 10-15 minutes apart all day long with a little bit of cramping and back pain. Then today I started having contractions again in the afternoon with some cramping as well. Had a membrane sweep around 5pm.. how bad are these cramps supposed to hurt? I'm writhing in pain every time one comes on. Part of me is like "you just had your membranes swept, cramping is normal..." then the other part of me is like "you've been having tons of contractions for more than 24 hours, maybe you are in labor!" It hurts sooo much worse than I was expecting but I've always had pretty severe menstrual cramps so idk. How bad were your cramps afterwards? Did it lead to labor or did they eventually fade?

    Had a sweep yesterday and my cramping wasn't too bad - just like medium level period cramps. Never had any pattern to them either, so I could tell it wasn't labor. I'm 41+1, so I was hopeful! Just going to have to wait a little longer I suppose...sigh...

    I had my membrane swept on monday, the cramps have been really mild but it's also past the window for it to work now. So, hopefully that means its working for you.

    I had my membrane sweep done on a Monday and was crampy on and off after that. The next morning I was very crampy where I could time then but they were not close enough together. Then they kept getting more distant. And like you mine were pretty painful. It's hard for me to say much more though bc I went in to get induced that Tuesday.
