This is my first pregnancy, and about a week ago I hurt my back and have been basically bed ridden. My dr suggested seeing a chiropractor because she believes it is sciatica and there is not much you can do besides take muscle relaxers. Has anyone experienced this? I know it's safe considering my dr is the one who suggested it, I just dont like the idea of being "aligned" with a baby inside of me..
Re: Treating sciatica with chiropractor
Btw, just tell him/her you're pregnant and they won't go so hard on you. My chiropractor is very gentle and still gets the job done. He's very conscience of my growing little one.
Physical therapy has been working wonders on me, so you can maybe bring that up with your doctor if you're still uncomfortable with chiro..I went the PT route because I knew chiro would be a lot more money than a referral for PT..maybe that's just my area though, doctors usually refer for PT before chiro in my experience.

Depending on the procedure they use, they'll alter it for your pregnancy. Look one up that specializes in women and children, and you should be golden.
Fwiw I will be taking this baby in ASAP after birth. I took DS at 4 months for acid reflux and he was off his meds within a month of going.
I need to go to one soon.. My back is sore from adjusting to the baby weight. Probably the reason why I have trouble sleeping.
I had a bad experience with a chiropractor being too rough in 2012 and have pain to this day. I think the relaxin in our bodies from being pregnant can make us more vulnerable to injuries but don't quote me.
ETA: sorry to be a worry wort but just be very particular about who you see. I'm wishing you the best & hope you feel better soon!
