Question for STM+
Do you guys actually use this straw thing to suck snot out of your kids nose?! This sounds and looks like the absolutely most disgusting thing I have ever seen. I know saline drops and a nasal aspirator may not do the best job ever, but I can't imagine physically sucking my kids snot thru a "straw"! Even my hubby, who has a 5yo he took care of since he was a newborn was repulsed by this idea.
Re: Snotsucker
If your child has reflux like mine it is a godsend he had reflux come out his nose daily so we used the nasal saline spray and the nosefrida to keep him clean, clear and comfy. You just can't think about it too hard when you use it.
I lurk. I snark. I offer sound advice if you're not BSC. You may not like me. I'm okay with it.
It might look gross but it works so much better than those bulb syringes.
My husband couldn't handle it though. He gagged every time he used it. It was worth the price watching that alone
As PP said, the baby will react like you are torturing them, but only for a few seconds, then it's instantly much better.
It's completely gross and gag worthy, but still amazing to have and use. It's seriously the best worst baby gadget ever!
Funny story - DD had her first terrible cold and stuffy nose. I used a bulb syringe and saline drops. I needed my mom to watch her for a bit and planned to clean her out one last time before I left her. Mom told me she'd done it a million times and to let her do it. I did. I watched her stick the bulb syringe inside DD's nose and THEN squeeze. DD's eyes went wide and she didn't stop screaming for at least 20 minutes. Yeah mom, you knew what you were doing 20yrs ago but I think you're hazy on the details at this point. Smh.
Wondering if it might work the same way without having to put my mouth on it... I totally think the nose frida is a great idea, but the idea of using my mouth is a bit skeevy still...
He thinks DS does a great job blowing his nose, but I always go and use the snot sucker afterwards, and there is always lots left to suck out.
He sleeps so much better after a good snot sucking.
He would freak out when he was younger and able to fight, but now he lets me use it without putting up a fight.

We loved gripe water. Helped with hiccups and gas. I will buy it in bulk this time!
