Weekend Plans?

So as I am sitting here thinking of reasons or ways to procrastinate from doing some much needed grocery shopping and house cleaning, I figured hey what's everyone on TB up to this weekend?!

I'm currently watching shows about Disney World Resorts on TLC because I'm a huge Disney fan, but later today DH and I have dinner reservations at our favorite hometown restaurant followed by a concert (Emm Gryner?) We have no clue who she is but the tickets were $25 and the owner of the restaurant talked us into going, it should be fun though! Nothing special set for Sunday yet.

Coffee and breakfast on the patio this am (YEEEEEESSS to fall weather!), working for a few hours (ick), and college football party with friends today. Tomorrow? No plans, and that's glorious.

My weekend is ending!

My weekend is Friday Saturday and it's already 6:30 pm on Saturday. So just doing laundry and watching tv. Didn't do anything special though. Slept late yesterday with an awful headache. Was supposed to go to a special workout this morning but still didn't feel right so slept till 8. Then went shopping and got a new travel pack for our trip this week. Have a 2-day work week and then off to Denmark for my dirty thirty!!!! (Hubby worked yesterday and today)
Hope everyone's weekend is off to a terrific start!!!!

Today I'm gonna volunteer at the science museum for a few hours. I'll hang out in the Energy hall and let little kids touch the types of rocks that we get oil and gas out of. It's an unusually popular topic here in Houston.

DH and I are going out to lunch, then to a distillery that's having their 1-year anniversary, to check out the festivities and buy some more whiskey. We'll probably do the grocery shopping on the way home.

Tomorrow I'm going to the gym, and other than that... I guess doing a bunch of cleaning around the house.

My step mother just dropped off her bedroom furniture, it's like brand new, do we have to set up the king size bed later today. Super excited to have one of those! And then we live in Maryland so we are doing crabs one last time before the season ends. And then Sunday is football!!! Go Ravens!!!

DH & I were at a wedding last night. The open bar was such a great idea at the time, but I feel less enthusiastic about it this morning, haha! We're laying on the couch watching Scandal, & I don't plan to do much else today. Laundry & grocery shopping will have to wait until tomorrow.

Had a sports massage this morning, now watching the rugby with hubby - it's the only time I'll see him this weekend as he's on night shifts

Then out with friends for a meal and maybe drinks tonight - hoping to race in the morning so will try not to drink. I also have shed loads of work to catch up on which will probably get left until Sunday evening...

We're celebrating my grandma's birthday at our house tomorrow, so I'm cleaning and trying to think of a good birthday gift. I was going to buy her mums but during a recent conversation she mentioned that she didn't want any this year.

I'm also trying not to POAS right now, so I'm just sitting here in a half cleaned house not knowing what to do.

I'm going to TRY to catch up on some of what I missed this past week on TB. Hopefully I won't be MIA anymore since I have my whole Tricare/referral mess sorted out. DH and I got mulch yesterday for pretty cheap and now I get to go mulch my flower/plant beds today and it will look lovely. Also watching Heros because I never saw it before and Heros Reborn starts on Thursday.

We made the 6 hr drive from the Twin Cities to the upper peninsula of Michigan on Thursday night, and are currently on our way to DH's cousin's wedding in Marquette. Her mom went BSC in the last 5 years so everyone is anxious to see if she shows up, and if she does, whether she starts serious drama with the family. I'm going to be over here like this:

Tomorrow (the 20th) is our first anniversary. Surprisingly DH agreed to spend both today and tomorrow with me. We don't have big plans, just to hang out together. This morning I looked through our wedding photos and cards. Currently we are watching a movie I picked up from Red box. I bought a new board game (Tri ominos) and hope to play that later. Tomorrow we are going to a bigger nearby city (1 hr drive) to putt putt (we did that a lot on our honeymoon so I hope to keep the tradition) and have dinner at a nice restaurant. Unfortunately I just found out I will be needing my gallbladder removed soon so we have to put TTC on hold until after that. It sucks because I'm currently in my FW and would have been great timing if we did conceive. We are still BDing to celebrate but I'm not laying still after or anything like that.

Today is all about college football and lounging in yoga pants.

I coach 13-year-old volleyball and we have a tournament tomorrow. I love my girls, but they can be a bit much sometimes, so I have to start mentally preparing myself now. They're learning a new offense and it's only the second time they've ever ran it in a tournament. I'm the only coach and I just like run up and down the sideline yelling names and telling them they're in the wrong spot. I can't wait until they figure out this offense so we can get back to learning actual volleyball.

My weekends go so fast

I'm hosting for my dad's birthday tonight so I cleaned the house all day yesterday and baked a cake this morning. Now I'm getting ready to help DH split and stack firewood for my mom and dad. Their only source of heat is wood and my dad hurt his shoulder recently so he can't run the chainsaw. It feels good to help out. Tomorrow I will get as much homework done as possible. I'm in my last semester of nursing school and I'm super busy and stressed about NCLEX.

I'm watching college football (which is NOT going well!) and drinking some bourbon because I got a BFN this morning. DH is at work. Tomorrow I have big plans to upgrade my computer to Windows 10 and do laundry. Super fun, right?

Ah frick, I spoke too soon.... Though I actually don't mind tomorrow's plans - looks like we're going to the gun range! My baby sister just got her first pistol and I'm so jealous. Time to sell my piece of crap and get a better one!

Maybe this should belong in FFFC or UO Thursday, but I am fascinated by people who enjoy going to the gun range. I have never fired a gun in my life and I have no desire to do so.

Just to be clear, not judging, if you like it, that's cool, just definitely not my thing.

Hahaha maybe, I know there are lots of differing opinions on this topic! I have a co-worker that's very anti gun but someone took her to a gun range and it sounds like she actually kinda liked it! Surprised the heck out of me...
Tbh I've fired guns since I was 13 years old, so it's something I'm very comfortable doing.

My husband and I have a bet going as to who will be a better shot tomorrow!

My weekend has been ok so far, I had a cooking class this morning with a friend and we learned how to make savory pies with greens like kale (tons of that in the garden right now).

After that dh and I went to a baby shower for his coworker and his wife. When we were invited a month ago, I was feeling very low and told my dh I just couldn't emotionally handle that right now. But as it got closer, I was reflecting on how they had actually gone through some fertility treatments to conceive and how I was, deep down, excited for them. We ended up having a great time and I got to snuggle another coworkers 4 month old, which was nice. Our time will come eventually.

So anyway the rest of my weekend plans are to hopefully go apple picking and bake a pie

I enjoy going to the gun range, though I've only been a few times. I've had a really hard time finding a handgun that I can handle comfortably with my super short fingers though. I'm not a small person generally, but my fingers sure are! My ski gloves are a girls medium lol.

I'm a little late to the party but I have to finish cleaning the house and then DH and I are going to a home inspection for a house we just put an offer in on.

Right now though I am doing some cyber stalking of a former college classmate. I will call this guy "Joe". He and I were in the same small undergraduate program at a large university. We were in the same social group, took all of the same classes from sophomore year on, and belonged to the same clubs. We were friends in college but drifted apart after graduation. "Joe" got arrested for risk of injury to a minor and voyeurism recently. From what I gathered, he was working as a teacher at a high school and got caught on camera (student shot video) taking up-skirt photos of his freshman female students.

I am horrified at what he has done and having a tough time reconciling what I know about this guy with what happened. "Joe" always seemed normal, well-adjusted guy who was always respectful to women but a little aloof and morally superior at times but I would never imagine he'd do something like this. Hell, I went to his wedding two years ago (they are getting a divorce from what I've heard through our mutual friends).

I'm shocked that he would be capable of doing such a thing to children he was entrusted to teach and I question whether this was something that was always just below the surface of his personality or if this behavior somehow emerged over time. I like to think I am a good judge of character but was I really friends with a pedophile?

1. I envy that you have gotten your house-work/ cleaning all done...I am still procrastinating and have barely made a dent in my weekend to-do list!

2. Congrats on the house offer!! Hopefully the inspection goes well and the everything works out!!

3. That is pretty crazy and scary to think someone you had gotten to know would do such a thing, unfortunately some people are good at hiding their dark secrets

I would be pretty shocked too!
