Boob advice for night time?

hey everyone! I've been using the disposable lansinoh breast pads during the day as they're the only thing that keeps the leaks in. But all the milk against my boobs during the day makes them a bit itchy by night time and I want to give them a chance to air out while I'm sleeping. Washing my sheets every day isn't really ideal, but I've also tried sleeping with a towel over my chest and it is kind of scratchy and annoying. Does anyone have any ideas or solutions that they use that have worked for them?

Re: Boob advice for night time?

  • I do not have an issue with this, but was thinking I would use puppy pads if I did since I still have half a pack and my dog no longer needs them.

  • I would try switching to washable reusable pads. They're comfortable all day and all night, no scratchy boobs over here!
  • Heard of moms using ShamWows (no joke) because they soak up very well. May be a bit softer? Who knows
  • I use the bamboobies washable reusable overnight pads. They are really soft and super absorbent.
  • My bamboobies are on the way, so I can't vouch for their comfort or absorbency. But in the meantime, I am using a burp cloth folded over and stuffed into my overnight nursing bra.
If I feel itchy or sweaty before bed I wash my chest then "air out" without a bra for a few minutes before heading to bed.

  • I got two pair of bamboobies from amazon the other day, and they are great! My only problem with them is that I onky have two pair.
  • Maybe pump before bed? Then you could just give baby a bottle for the next feeding after?
  • Bamboobies are fantastic. Comfy and not at all itchy. I also have some regular cotton ones. I can't wear disposable ones because I have super sensitive skin and they all irritate me, so I 100% recommend some Bamboobies or plain cotton washable breast pads. They're all I wear, day and night.
  • I also use the Lansinoh disposables but also use the cream. My nipples are so sensitive I have to use these two items and a nursing tank to prevent anything brushes my nipples. I tried the washable ones and they are super comfortable but found them almost impossible to wash w the cream.
  • I hate the Lansinoh pads. The Johnson & Johnson ones would a lot better for me and aren't nearly as scratchy.
  • Thanks everyone for the tips!! It sounds like I need to pick up some bamboobies!
