What are you doing to get KU? Every natural planning method + Metformin 2000 mg + Femara 5 mg
Rants/Raves/CS: I put it on UO Thursday but my husband "cleaned" but didn't really. He just swept all the dirt, dog hair, and ripped up paper products that our puppy got into from the finished portion of the basement to the unfinished portion of the basement. To say I am mad would be a significant understatement!
GTKY: what is something you did as a child that you hope your future LO will also get to experience? We lived in a neighborhood with lots of kids my age and I had a boy who was my best friend from the time I was 6 years old. We rode our bikes everywhere and I mean everywhere. We live in a rural town so we rode all over the place - I think, based on what I know now, we had to have ridden at least 5-6 miles minimum every day we took our bikes out. We went to the park, rode to the pool, explored the old parts of town, and we got stuck in the rain more than once. I think that, by far, was the best part of my childhood and I think he'd probably agree. So many great memories that I always treasure, that's exactly what I would want my little one to experience.
@MNturnsVA Thanks, I am going in next month for my yearly gyno exam and I might mention it if this cycle turns out to be anovulatory. I think the first 4 anovulatory cycles were due to coming off of BCP.
@FrancesGrace630- I can totally see why you would start to think that this cycle may be anovulatory as well, especially after looking at your chart.....have you talked to your dr? I guess I'm not sure if anything can be done about them? I'm sorry though, I'm sure that is super frustrating. I've been kind of kicking myself for not getting off BC sooner and temping sooner to have a much better idea at this point of what's going or to get some of the wonky cycles behind us. You don't know what you don't know.....now I know. On the other hand, the knowing makes me not want to plan stuff. Our anniversary is coming up and if we were to get lucky this month we wouldn't know until 2-3 days before the anniversary. So that makes it hard in some ways.
@DobbysSock- sorry about your frustration for the vaccines. Its so hard to find out this stupid stuff that you think would or should not have that much affect on your plans and then it puts a big road block out there. Are there any mini vacays you've been wanting to do or could do? I would try to do something that you won't be able to do once you actually get your BFP or when a little one is here and make it a priority for this month. A concert or a show you've been wanting to see? Hang in there!! I hope the time will pass for you quickly!!
Thank you! That's a good way to look at things - I'll spend another month enjoying some of the things I'll have to stop/cut back on when I get a BFP!
@FrancesGrace630- I'd mention it regardless of how this cycle goes. just because. You are going to be there anyways, perfect time to mention it and get some one on one time with the dr vs calling the nurse and getting who knows what kind of info back. Good Luck!!
Rants/Raves/CS:so holy temp drop today this day officially sucks. So y question is..with the temp drop could I still have possibly O'd?will i know if it goes back up tomorrow? I was freezing when I woke up this am
GTKY: what is something you did as a child that you hope your future LO will also get to experience?to be able to travel like I did with my grandparents.
What are you doing to get KU? Temping, OPKs (Clearblue Digital, so I don't have to scrutinize whether the dang test line is darker or "as dark" as the comparison...I hate it!!), BD EOD around O
Rants/Raves/CS: They are shaking the almond trees around my house and I am sneezing so much and so forcefully that I honestly think my head might explode! It's only a few weeks, but it seems like it is months and months! God bless our farmers though
GTKY: what is something you did as a child that you hope your future LO will also get to experience? The entire world has changed since I was a child. One thing is that I live in California and we are in a massive drought, and so we have designated watering days. As a child, I LOVED to run through the sprinklers in the summertime (it gets to be triple digits here a lot during the summer). Now, I have to limit the days and time the DD gets to do that, on top of the fact that my lawn is dead because of it, so there isn't really even any nice, plush grass for her to play in. We have to stay inside a lot when it is so hot because if she can't play in the water, there really is nothing to be outside for. It's a bummer, but we're trying our best to help conserve : (
Rants/Raves/CS: Just got back from a Florida vacation with DH which was nice to get away and not think about TTC.
GTKY: what is something you did as a child that you hope your future LO will also get to experience? Hmmm probably family road trips. We used to drive from Florida to New Jersey every summer to visit my grandparents and even though it sounds horrible/boring for a child it was actually a lot of fun.
Me 35, DH 37
Unexplained infertility and TTC since December 2014
February 2016 - May 2016: 3 IUI's -- all BFN
August 2016: IVF #1 (Lupron, Gonal F and Menopur) -- 12 retrieved, 9 fertilized, 3 frozen and 1 x day 5 hatching blast transferred -- BFN. Sent remaining 3 embryos for PGS testing -- 2 didn't survive thaw, 1 was abnormal.
February 2017: IVF #2 (Gonal F, Menopur, and Ganirelix) -- 12 retrieved, 6 fertilized, 3 sent for PGS testing and all were abnormal
March 2018: IVF #3 (Menopur, Follistim, Ganirelix and HGH) -- 14 retrieved, 12 fertilized, 4 sent for PGS testing, and 3 were PGS normal
May 2018: FET #1 -- BFN
August 2018: FET #2 -- BFP!!! healthy baby girl born May 2019!!
July 2020: FET #3 -- embyro did not survive thaw
September 2020 - IVF #4 (Menopur, Follistim, Ganirelix and HGH) -- 1 PGS normal
October 2020 - FET #4 -- BFN
January 2021 - IVF #5 (Menopur, Follistim, Ganirelix and HGH) -- 2 PGS normal
@rrauws- So even though your temp dropped its still higher or right at the higher point. Put a higher temp in for tomorrow and see what happens. Actually, I probably put a few higher temps in for the next few days and see what happens. I'm sitting here and should take my own advice!! My temp went way up this AM but i was really hot or felt hot when I woke up.....So I'm guessing today was a fluke.....I would see what happens when you put higher temps in.
@rrauws -- I agree that you could still get crosshairs for CD45, especially if your temp stays up. They may be dotted, though, because of the missed temp and open circles.
Rants/Raves/CS: Just hoping my body waits until after my MIL leaves to O, bc its a little awkward getting busy with guests in the house
GTKY: what is something you did as a child that you hope your future LO will also get to experience? Growing up I loved all of our holiday traditions and I want to make sure we have lots of fun family traditions with our LOs. Nothing out of the ordinary, just fun memories like picking out pumpkins at a pumpkin patch every year and going to look at the neighborhood christmas lights on christmas eve.
Thanks lalalorelai , I never thought about doing that (even though I've seen people mention it to others before lol) I played around and if I get a temp higher than 36.50 tomorrow I get solid CHs!!! I am/was expecting dotted CHs like you mentioned @lalalorelai because I know my temping has not been the best this month. Oh man I really hope I'm not let down tomorrow, FX!
What are you doing to get KU? Temping and charting
Rants/Raves/CS: I was hoping last cycle's 67 days was a fluke based off of just stopping BCP, but it's not looking that way.
GTKY: What is something you did as a child that you hope your future LO will also get to experience? Mostly just playing outside... Our yard is smaller than my parent's yard was, but I'm hoping that they still enjoy just running around outside and making up ridiculous games.
What are you doing to get KU? Temping, tracking CM & CP.
Rants/Raves/CS: nothing much going on today. I'm sad that our brief taste of fall seems to be over. We'll probably have to turn the ac back on and close the windows. Neither of us can sleep if it's hot inside.
GTKY: what is something you did as a child that you hope your future LO will also get to experience? Space camp! As well as the week long camping/canoe trips we used to take. I agree with PP who said no technology at a young age. We live far from family, but there has been no and will be no dvd watching in the car.
June 2016 April Siggy Challenge: Reasons my kid is crying
Rants/Raves/CS: not much! hoping the sédation for my colonoscopy won't delay ovulation. This weekend would be perfect for timing!
GTKY: what is something you did as a child that you hope your future LO will also get to experience? I use to go to the beach in Maine every summer, well I still do. It's my favorite place and I have such fond memories of my weeks at the beach!
Month/Cycle: 1/1 CD: 6 What are you doing to get KU? Nothing now I have to prevent this month. I posted yesterday in WTO about getting booster vaccines for work, and in WTF Wednesday posted that the nurse told me that I can't get pregnant for a month after the shots I got yesterday (had to get a live vaccine and not recommended during pregnancy) Rants/Raves/CS: I'm super annoyed with myself. I knew I had to get those vaccines for the past 2 months and just put them off because I was busy. I never thought of the fact that I might not be able to get them while pregnant/TTC. They aren't a requirement for employment but strongly recommended due to the nature of my work (healthcare) so I figured delaying by 1 month is better than putting myself and a potential pregnancy at risk by not being protected. Plus if there's an outbreak and I'm not vaccinated I get put off work without pay, so I know I did the right thing I'm just mad I procrastinated. GTKY: what is something you did as a child that you hope your future LO will also get to experience?
Travel! I was so lucky as a child, my parents brought us all over the world and showed us so many different cultures. Financially we won't be able to afford the same types of trips as my parents could, but I hope we can do enough to instill a love of travel into our kids
@DobbysSock if you don't mind my asking what vaccines did you get? I'm also in healthcare and TTC!
Month/Cycle: 1/1 CD: 1 What are you doing to get KU? Temping and charting Rants/Raves/CS: Cycle day 1 on month one of TTC so I figured I'd make my first official post. I'm a little worried as I started BC in 7th grade since my period would be 2 weeks on (and very bad), 2 weeks off, 2 weeks on, etc... I'm very excited to start temping and I eagerly bought the thermometer shamelessly early as I was doing research/lurking here. I never really thought much about my super heavy, fast, cycle so I'm nervous for how the first few months will go. GTKY: What is something you did as a child that you hope your future LO will also get to experience? I played every sport imagineable growing up, and DH and I both received college scholarships for sports. Competing and life long bonds we're so greatful for we selfishly want for our LOs too (especially the free college part).
What are you doing to get KU? waiting for AF to go away, charting
Rants/Raves/CS: working some night shifts this week and next and I just know it's going to make it impossible for FF to interpret my chart for pre-O temps (my temp was sky high this afternoon after I woke up ugghhhh)
GTKY: what is something you did as a child that you hope your future LO will also get to experience?
my grandmother had a lake cottage that we went to in the summers - I hope my future LO will be able to have those same carefree summer days.
Married since 2011 TTC since Oct 2014 DOR + MFI 3 failed IUIs; IVF August 2017
What are you doing to get KU? Waiting for AF to be done and to finish this weekend's big race.
Rants/Raves/CS: I am a little worried about getting good temp readings while traveling this month.
GTKY: what is something you did as a child that you hope your future LO will also get to experience? Similar to others I want my future little one to experience the joy of he great outdoors.
What are you doing to get KU? Lots of penis and preseed.
Rants/Raves/CS: Thoughts on my chart? I'm wondering if I geared up to O on cd18 but it failed so it tried again on cd20 (I was still having quite a few ovulation pains that day). Or maybe I did O on 18 but since I wasn't using a BBT, it didn't record any slight temp elevations? My usual cycles are 26 days so I'm feeling discouraged this month.
Rant...My insurance changed so I called a new RE. They said they didn't have any appts until Oct 28 (wtf?!). So I decide I'll just eat the cost of going to my normal RE if I can get in sooner. She asks what I need to be seen for and I said whatever comes next (hsg was done a couple cycles ago). She's like well the dr doesn't have any treatment plans written down for you so I don't really know what's next for you either. *face palm* Sometimes I feel like these are all signs from the universe that I shouldn't have babies. I need a drink.
GTKY: what is something you did as a child that you hope your future LO will also get to experience? I grew up on a farm so I would spend aaaall day outside exploring, riding my bike, climbing trees, etc. I hope DH and I are able to move out of the city so my kids can experience that.
@Lin&say were you just not using a BBT on one day or this whole cycle? I'm still new to the temping scene but it's possible day 20 could be it. I'm a little thrown off by the exact same temps you were getting in a row, I feel like there should be at least a little variation among temps. Do you track CM as well? That might help with identifying O date.
I'm sorry @lin&say that sounds so frustrating. Hugs to you >:D<
me 30; DH 35 TTC since May 2014. Aug 2014 BFP, EDD April 22, 2015. Low progesterone, started suppositories. Loss at 5w6d. Nov 19, 2015 BFP at 13 dpo, EDD July 29, 2016. MMC discovered 12/29 (9+4). Natural miscarriage 1/16 (12+1). AMH results 0.42, 1.2; FSH 12.1, AFC 10, dx DOR. RPL testing results normal. Nurse recommended progesterone suppositories in TWW. Clomid + trigger + TI cycle August 2016 - failed. Thin lining. Femara + trigger + TI cycle December 2016 - failed. Thin lining. Short LP (8 days). Acupuncture & Chinese herbs starting January 2017, lengthened LP to 10 days
@rrauws I've been using a regular thermometer all month. (I have a bbt but didn't want to switch in the middle of the month.) The repeating temps are a mystery to me too. I know the bbt would give me a little more variation since it measures to the 100th.
Thank you @AL_TwinCities. Getting pregnant seems like such a simple concept and yet...

BFP! EDD 11/29
What are you doing to get KU? Started temping today, will be using opks once AF is done, charting, CM, BD
Rants/Raves/CS: I'm happy AF came so I can start this next cycle with all the knowledge and tools I gained here over the last cycle. Hopeful
GTKY: What is something you did as a child that you hope your future LO will also get to experience? I hope LO loves books and gets to experience the wonderful places you can travel with your imagination by just reading one.
FX @Lin&say your temps stay elevated, when it doubt HIO! **also have you tried putting in a high temp for the next 1-3 days to see if you can get CHs from FF?
@rrauws Thanks girl. I'm so exhausted from HIO lol The only way it gives me CHs is if I take out my +opk. If I do that and my temps stay up tomorrow, it gives me dotted CHs on cd20. Oh the joys of charting.

I hear ya! I was starting to feel like it was almost a chore, yikes! LOL hmm interesting about the CHs if the OPK is removed...now that is something I'm not sure of when it comes to charting, I think I have seen people advise others to remove a + in the past in order to get CHs (I hope someone can correct me if I'm wrong). FX for high temps for both of us tomorrow which means....We move to the TWW (aka more waiting hahah)
What are you doing to get KU? After AF finishes I'm going to finally start temping, plus I do check cm, take prenatals and I'm supposed to start progesterone.
Rants/Raves/CS: FINALLY back in the wto.... Man that was the longest cycle ever!!!! I can't help but think it was because I messed something up taking those damn herbs since maybe I didn't need them. Whatever, this cycle I'm doing everything right.
GTKY: what is something you did as a child that you hope your future LO will also get to experience? Hmmm. Maybe cave exploring! Lots of outdoor stuff, hopefully they won't be too sucked in to video game land....
What are you doing to get KU? temping, CM, CP, OPK
Rants/Raves/CS: starting to see a pattern in my cycle (4th one so far) so today will probably be my O day. Thinking tomorrow will be a high temp.
GTKY: what is something you did as a child that you hope your future LO will also get to experience? I got to travel a lot as a child and I hope to be able to give that opportunity to my future babes. I'm thinking maybe taking a position in a foreign country after we're done here in Hawaii.

@DobbysSock if you don't mind my asking what vaccines did you get? I'm also in healthcare and TTC!
@laurenm2123 I had to get my tetanus/diptheria/polio booster, which is an inactivated vaccine and that alone would have had no effect on TTC/pregnancy. The one that was a problem was the MMR booster. I guess there was a period of a few years that I was unlucky enough to fall into in my childhood, where in my region they did the first MMR vaccine and then for the booster only did Measles and Rubella. They found that Mumps would benefit from a booster as well so they changed the vaccine schedule and now children get MMR for both the first dose and the booster dose. They didn't go back and re-vaccinate all of those kids, but adults working in certain health care fields/areas who fell into that group are advised to get the MMR booster for the mumps portion. That one is a live vaccine and not recommended during pregnancy, so I was advised to wait one month before TTC.
What are you doing to get KU? Just waiting for AF to move out.
Rants/Raves/CS: Nothing today, just excited that I am finally in a cycle where we can actually TTC!
GTKY: what is something you did as a child that you hope your future LO will also get to experience? Horse riding. I loved horse riding when I was a child. Haven't owned a horse in 12 years and recently bought three!

TTC since Oct 2014

CD: 2
What are you doing to get KU? Waiting for AF to be done and to finish this weekend's big race.
Rants/Raves/CS: I am a little worried about getting good temp readings while traveling this month.
GTKY: what is something you did as a child that you hope your future LO will also get to experience?
Similar to others I want my future little one to experience the joy of he great outdoors.
Month/Cycle: Years trying. 2/2 for temping again.
CD: 22

Eta *auto correct fail!

CD: 5
What are you doing to get KU? Just waiting for AF to move out.
Rants/Raves/CS: Nothing today, just excited that I am finally in a cycle where we can actually TTC!
GTKY: what is something you did as a child that you hope your future LO will also get to experience? Horse riding. I loved horse riding when I was a child. Haven't owned a horse in 12 years and recently bought three!
