Good Morning ladies. I'm currently sitting in the comfiest chair in my house, wearing the same shirt for 2 days in a row (it's covered in milk leakage stains and I couldn't be bothered with trying to change out of it right now) My one month old DD is "asleep" on my chest and I would rather not move than have her be awake and fussy. It was a long night last night... I'm posting this pic as proof that The Struggle, is in fact, real.
I feel your pain, I'm in the hospital with LO and I know the nurses can smell my sour milk shirt and unwashed hair (thank you BFing night sweats!); yes there are showers here, but every time I get ready to take one monitors start going off and it freaks me out! ( I guess I will shower in about nine days! Haha
It's been a rough morning. Baby cuddles are just what I need.
DH thought it would be a great idea to put turf in his man cave 8 months ago. We have never had any problems until this morning. The stupid dog decided to use the turf as grass and pooped in the man cave. I didn't notice it, stepped in it and tracked it all over the house. I spent my morning scrubbing smeared crap off of the carpet. Then I spilled oats all over the kitchen. The shower will have to wait until DH gets home from work.
@kjandericka oh no! Awww speaking of dogs, I miss my dog someone stole him right out of our yard two weeks before DD was born. And at least you get to shower later! Lol I can only manage a quick bathroom break at the moment since DD is going through a wonder week!
@julesventura so sorry to hear about your dog! Mine have been driving me crazy lately but idk what I would do without them! And yes, I'm very lucky that DH is getting off work early today. We have dinner plans with friends tonight and I would probably be asked to leave the restaurant if I went like this!
I don't even bother with a shirt when I'm home (unless neice is home too). DS just pours milk down it anyway. Though I am feeling slightly more human since I got a hair cut yesterday.
I was all proud of myself since I'm off work today and actually got dressed, brushed my hair, did my make-up and even got LO dressed. Then LO spit up all over us both. Oh well. It was nice while it lasted...
We have made it 1.5 hrs since he ate! This growth spurt is killing me. I am sitting as still as possible (in yesterday's shirt) in hopes that he will stay "asleep" (chewing on his pacifier).
I'm also stuck in my glider listening to classical music with DS on my chest after quite the meltdown! I was lucky enough for my best friend to come over earlier so I could shower though
I'm always able to sneak a shower in and change clothes.. I just have to be lightning fast before she wakes up! I haaaaaate being stinky!!!!! Here's some of her snuggling on Ma and Pop! (She giggles in her sleep)
I'm in sweat pants with spit up all over my black shirt which makes it more noticeable & have what I like to call the "mom bun". Both my little ones are napping at the same time & instead of showering & getting dressed I'm watching reruns for the millionth time of jersey shore... LMAO the struggle is definitely real :-?? :-$
I'm stuck on the couch looking at the dust that's accumulated on the coffee table but not daring to move because Mr. Dissatisfied-at-everything has finally passed out on my chest. Well see how long this lasts. I did, however, shower because the sound of the shower zones him out. FWIW, I think you all look pretty great for not showering or sleeping! And props to those wearing make up! I'm not that advanced these days.
Update: LO decided to stay asleep when I laid him down and I was able to shower and do my hair and makeup. Now I don't have to look like a homeless person at dinner. Praise the Lord!
I had an appointment with my midwife this afternoon so I actually am presentable right now. This morning, though, my shirt had a huge wet spot from leaking while my little man ate from the other side, his onesie was wet from the leakage and my husbands shirt had a spot from holding LO in his wet onesie. Better to be covered in milk than poop or pee though, right?

One small win for you equals one big victory for all tired mommas! I was able to throw on clean clothes and go to Target to get some shampoo and body wash. It's my goal today to have a nice long shower and actually take my time!
I would like to add that even though I fed LO at home, she decided to scream bloody murder while walking through the aisles. I covered up (mostly) and basically walked around Target with my boob out and a content baby hanging off of said boob. Victory!
I change clothes at least 3 times a day due to LO spitting up all over me. She just pours milk out of her after almost every feed. Never fails she'll get me when I pick her up forgetting a burp cloth. But a shower that's a luxury happening every few days with hair washing coming even less. Thank goodness for baby wipes!
Yep, didn't shower until DH got home today. Walked around in a sour spit-up'd shirt until then. My shorts also had sour spit-up on them but they went back in my dresser just now and I'll wear them again tomorrow because they're the only ones my fat butt fits in to (maternity!) and I sweat wayyyy too much in pants. I did wash my hair today but no makeup. However, I also realized that months of not shaving above the knee has resulted in quite a hairy mess, and frankly, I DGAF. I AM DEAD SEXY. Blegh.
I have to take my DH to all of his doctors appointments, so we not so patiently wait in the car wearing the same milk stained outfit for the second day. At least she's cute
I am SO glad I'm not alone. Never in s million years did I think I would appreciate a shower or a haircut so much. My mom has been hanging with us for a few days this week and I've been able to get a few things done for once! This mommy stuff is hard work! Especially because they are so darn cute when they sleep on your chest and I never want to get up or put him down I keep thinking how much I will miss these cuddles someday when he's older. We are all doing a great job ladies!
Haven't showered in 3 days. Haven't changed clothes in 2. I'm a hot mess. But don't worry, baby gets a fresh change of clothes and a bath but just won't allow me to. She is done eating but wants to sleep on my lap while we watch the game...
Also I'm sporting my wrist and thumb brace since I was lucky enough to get this terrible condition lovingly nicknamed "mommy thumb."
Instead of doing laundry to wash the few clothes I'm comfortable in, I put a sweater on over my dirty spit up tank top and went to Walmart and bought a new one. I justified this by saying I was going for diapers anyways lol. Bonus pic of me trapped on the couch. He's awake but doesn't wanna be left alone >:D< So we made silly faces together
