My first was a compass rose in the back of my left shoulder. It has multiple meanings go me, I got me degree in outdoor recreation and guided for a while, and it is behind my heart, to remind me to follow my heart and passions. I have a tree on my right leg with the roots at my right ankle, about as big as my hand. It has the initials carved into the bark of a very, very dear friend who lost a long battle with a horrible autoimmune disease. On my the back of my right shoulder I have an ornate bird that my great-grandmother drew. My mom has another of her birds tattooed on her calf. It is for my family. Lastly, I have a Harry Potter quote on my left forearm. "ALL WAS WELL." I grew up with Harry. The first book came out when he was 11, and I was 11. The last movie I went to see with my husband when we were dating. I grew up in that world, it was there through all the pain and awkwardness and hard life decisions young people make as an escape. It didn't end happily ever after or the end.. The last words were "All was well." And it was.
Pink star on the back of my neck Pink and black stars on my right wrist Stars on my right foot
An owl with Charle Anne under it on my left foot (this is also the ONLY tattoo with meaning) owl is for my daughter with her name but it's also the name of my gramps and grams.
I have a nautical star on my left hip. Nautical stars on my right foot. A raven on my left foot. Weird tribal looking wings on the right side of my rib cage that I need to cover with something after I'm done having babies. An almost full back tatto (just the outline so far) of a pair of wings with the Latin phrase for "while I breathe I hope" that my cousin and I both have incorporated into a tattoo. None really have over the top meaning and most were from days of boredom shortly after I turned 18.
I have a rib cage tattoo that's pretty big. It's the beginning part of John 14:27, "peace I leave with you, peace I give to you" in Greek. I won't post a picture because I don't have one that doesn't show my whole belly/side. I like it. I'm curious what pregnancy may do to it, but I'm not too worried.
I gave a small purple bitterly on my back, to remember my BFF who passed away at 18. I have a quote in Arabic that says "one man's meat is another man's poison" it's peach so it's not noticeable, looks like a scar, and it's on my thigh. I'm planning on getting one of all my children and DH but not sure what just yet.
I've been tattooed 6 times, one of them has been covered. I have an asian style fan on my right hip, a four leaf clover on my left hip, my astrological symbol (stupid, was 18 of course and plan on covering with a large back piece once I decide what I want) and my feet are the cartoon version of I Dream of Jeannie (at the beginning of show, if you've ever seen it) and also a cartoon version of Bewitched on my other foot, these are my pride and joy - love them so much! I grew up watching those shows when I was little on tv land.
I have a kanji symbol for serenity on my lower back, I was young and stupid. I have a cat on my inner left bicep because I love cats and my nickname is Cat. I also have a dragonfly on my inner left wrist because after my dad died, I started seeing dragonflies everywhere and I think it's him reminding me that he's still near.
I want to get a beaver above my hip bone because my maiden name is Beavers.
I got some Arabic text I had on my foot covered up (it was boring and spelled wrong) with an olive tree. There's a dove flying away with a branch. It's a reminder to me that God keeps his promises (from the Noah's Ark Bible story)
The first one I got were stars on my foot and ankle, then I got 3 lilies on my rip/hip which I actually want to cover with a big koi fish. I wasn't happy with the guy that did it. And I also have a tribal hammerhead on the inside of my upper arm with zodiac signs of me, my brothers, and my sister around it..annnndd I really want a half sleeve in the future, but don't have it all figured out yet
I have several tattooes. In all I have over 20. All over body. My favorite ones are of cross with rose for my grandmother. Four leaf clovers for my boys. Eeyore and two nautical stars.
I have (I think) around 32. a lot of them were me being young and bored- oh to have that $$$ now!!! My first is a pin up girl that I got done by a guy who was a super hot version of Eminem. I have seashells, anchor, seahorse and flops representing my love for the beach, a dragonfly behind my ear, the word dreamer down my side and lilies on my thigh. A tribute to my uncle that passed from cancer and "Live Like There's No Midnight" on the back of my neck. The rest are just small pieces, some I wish I hadn't gotten.
I have 3 total but here are my favorite 2! The roman numerals along my shoulder are my son's birthday (8.26.2011). My second is a saying with a dove "with pain comes strength" I have been through so much in life and am still young but all the pain has made me a strong person. The bird represents that free feeling I have
I have none..I've been thinking about getting one for awhile, but everything that I think I would like, I don't know placement, or it becomes the "trendy" tattoo to get so I avoid it.
I don't have one but I've wanted the word "love" in my left wrist. I told my mom and she lost her damn mind so I haven't done it. I wanted it for TWLOHA because I've had issues with depression/anxiety/self-mutilation and it would be nice to remind myself of being able to overcome it in those weaker moments.
I have a small koi fish on my ribs, when dd was small our nickname for her was little fishy so the tattoo represents her. I'll get a second koi after little man is born...I might add some color too, not sure yet
I have my kids's first initial intertwined on my left wrist. It is script and dainty and I love it. I left room too so I will get this LO's first initial added after birth. The only problem is that DS starts w/ and "E" and DD's starts w/ an "A" so I have to be sure I don't name this LO w/ something that starts with a "T" or "R"...otherwise that would be just strange. lol
I have 5, all of them I like for the most part except the first which is a hibiscus flower on my lower left back. It's all faded and I want to get it covered up, with some California wildflowers going up my back. When I'm not pregnant or BFing....
Also I have the Chinese word for "endurance" with some plumerias on my right outer calf, two butterflies on my upper left shoulder, a scrolly cross on my left wrist (my sister and I got them together), and my M-dot (Ironman logo... maybe I was too proud after finishing the race) on my left calf.
I have 4 tattoos. One is on my left shoulder, on my back. It was a home tat that was done when I was young and stupid. It needs to be redone. One is on my right shoulder, on my back. It is a cross with a rose in the middle and a ribbon inner twined around the cross. It's only in black ink right now. Needs to be finished with color accents and "In Loving Memory" written in the ribbon. It is for my family and very close friends who have passed on. I have one on my left upper arm that is a blue swirl (which is suppose to represent a storm), the X-men 3 wolverine symbol in the middle, and "Baby" on top of the symbol and "Storm" on the bottom of the symbol. This one was done with my best friend and Baby Storm is my cb handle as I was a truck driver. On my right upper arm, I have a tiger sitting on a snow/ice covered cliff. I love white tigers, bit as white doesn't show up well, I had the tattoo artist define it with blue to be interpreted as white.
I have five. #1 (not pictured) is a cross between my should blades. #2 is across my lower stomach it means the blessed life in Spanish. It's what we had put on my grandmothers headstone when she passed away. #3 is the greater than and less than sign. My husband has this on his ribs. From John 3:30 He must become greater, I must become less. I am wanting to get the text John 3:30 tattooed underneath. People always think it's whiskers #4 is on my shoulder/collarbone it says "One sees clearly only with the heart, anything essential is invisible to the eyes." From the little prince. #5 is a colorful Lily one day I'll add some more and hopefully have a half sleeve!
I have 7. A bunch of stuff, and my most recent was my daughter's name along my collar bone, I will add new DD's name on the oppositte side, and will be adding my nephew's name and something special for him at some point.
Spontaneous pregnancy #1 DD1 July 31, 2011
Trying for #2 since Oct 11
732973 Clomid Cycles
2 IUIs
3 Fresh IVFs= 1 Ectopic treated with MTX Spontaneous pregnancy #2= Ectopic #2= lost left tube Spontaneous pregnancy #3= DD2 January 29, 2016 Spontaneous pregnancy #4= Ectopic #3 Spontaneous pregnancy #5= Baby #3 is a BOY!!!
I have my first two children's names on my right foot, one on each side of my foot. I need to get my other two babies names on my left. I have a cross on the inside of my middle finger (left hand). Then I have a rose on my back, right shoulder. I want many more tattoos.
I have a dove on the inside on my left hip/belly area. It has an olive branch and a little heart by it. It's just the outline/not colored in. I don't plan on getting it colored in. And underneath it says love and peace in Polish. My phone doesn't speak polish so I can't write it lol
I have a star on my ankle. Three stars down my spine that represent three men in my life who have passed away my father, my stepfather and a dear friend. Growing up I had a theory that the stars where the souls of our loved ones watching over us at night. This helped me deal with the loss of my father and stepfather. I have Love tattooed on my left wrist from a love letter my father wrote my mother. It is his Love so it is incredibly special my sister and I have them, My most recent is a black bird on a branch it is on the outside of my right arm and it represents the miscarriage I had last year and my journey of healing.
I have a couple. Across my hip I have a quote that says "Love is an act of endless forgiveness, a tender look which becomes a habit" on my ribs I have a butterfly that I got after my grandpa was diagnosed with cancer. On my left wrist I have an infinity symbol with love written into it and three dots underneath. One for each of my kids.
I have a floral design on my belly under my belly button, a little gem I got about a month after turning 16 which I fully regret. I also have shooting stars on my left side just behind and above my hip bone. A few years ago, my mom went to Vegas, got tipsy with her friends, and got an almost identical tattoo on her side too (with my permission), so my mom and I have matching tattoos now! I may get more, and I may not. I don't feel strongly enough about anything right now to get another, but that can always change.
Mine is written in my sisters handwriting and its a quote from one of our favorite book series. After I had my son I had a lot of body image struggles because of the extreme stretching i underwent while carrying him. A normal range of fluids that you should have around your baby is 7-20 I was at a 28 and it did a lot of scarring and damage to my skin. (As you can see in the pic) but the quote always reminds me of why I did that to myself and that that's what makes me
I have 7, most of them are fairly small but two are larger. The one I got on my 18th birthday I asked a girl in my class to draw some heart inspired designs and I picked one. I love having tattoos that no one else has, therefore only one of them I regret but I got randomly one day my first year of college. All it says is love in cursive and it's on my foot. I think about making it be something else all of the time.
I have a butterfly on my hip my best friend gave me when we were 15 she died 3 months later. A smile face on my shoulder and a skateboard symbol on my back.
I have 3, 2 of which were the product of being 18.
That said, #3 is much more meaningful that I designed from an image I found. (the birds represent people I've lost along the way; the picture is weird because I'm hunched over to eliminate shadows...)
I'm considering a 4th to commemorate completing 30 half marathons before turning 30. The second picture is one I'm seriously considering for tattoo #4. It is Nike, the goddess of victory. I would have it done on my ribs.
I have a shamrock on my left hip that I'm hoping survives this pregnancy, and I've been meaning to get the engraving from a bracelet my grandfather always wore on my foot at some point, but haven't gotten around to it!
I have "He > i" in curly script on my inner right wrist. Nothing else yet, but I have several ideas.
I'd love a half sleeve on my left arm, a watercolor style collection o illustrations from my favorite children's books- the lamp post from Narnia, something representing HP, maybe an original illustration of Alice, something Mary Poppins related... All of the books I read over and over that shaped who I am today.
I also plan to get a quote or symbol from Harry Potter elsewhere on my body, but I haven't narrowed it down to exactly what or where yet. I love tattoos on the back of the neck, under the earlobe, on the inner forearm, ribcage, fingers, top of the foot, and even thigh tattoos.
I have an interpretation of the Celtic knot on my right shoulder. A friend of mine drew it for me. I got it done during a period of intense soul searching. It was done to remind me that time is an illusion . I also have a tribal piece near my hip bone. The pictures are from my wedding day, they're the nicest pictures I have of my tattoo- don't mind the priest in the background

My sister and I have always talked about doing something HP. We ran across this and after baby is here and I can safely get a new tattoo I want to see if we can have something in this style drawn up to do as matching tattoos.
