NBR - rec's for 2 year old bday present

Looking for recommendations from BTDT moms. My niece's bday is right around my due date, so I want to order the gift now so I don't forget! She's a big fan of princess stuff, but it can be anything. I would love to get something that has been mom tested, 2 year old approved!

  • I made a dress up trunk for my neice. She loved it. I don't think you can go wrong with a princess dress and some plastic jewelry :)

  • I love Melissa and Doug because it's durable. I just bought my niece some magnetic or wood now I can't remember dolls that had different outfits and acceseries. My DS2 is two and loves their big puzzles especially the floor ones, the fruit and food toys and the puzzles that make noise.

  • When my daughter was 2 I got her a few of the baby Disney Princess dolls. She's almost 6 and still plays with them. The BIG legos are always fun, puzzles, bubbles, pop up books or books with sound are always a hit too.
  • Pretty much anything Melissa&doug. My kids have always LOVED the Melissa & Doug ice cream set. My daughter also has a magnetic wooden dress up Sofia thenFirst doll that she really likes (also M & D).

You also generally can't go wrong with Little People and little people makes princess stuff too.
  • I'm a boy mama, but I have a 2.5 year old and I'm a big fan of non-toy gifts. I love receiving and giving books and gift certificates for activities in town. We have a Sky Zone here and that's been a big hit.

  • DD just turned two and her favorites include: easel with a bazillion craft supply options, tricycle, new baby doll with outfits (the outfit upgrade was a huge hit), toddler trampoline (ages 3+ but for heaven's sakes, just supervise closely or wait), a basketball, a special cup...she's pretty much just happy if she can play outside all the time...so anything that involves being outside!

When I hear "big fan of princess stuff" I think of dress up clothes or dolls with dress up clothes. I like the idea of a costume trunk full of fun, princess-themed items!

  • Some of these may be dated because my DD is 4.5 now, but she was really into princesses at 2 and some of the hits we got her that year were the little people Cinderella and carriage (I think they also have an Ariel one now)  Disney also has plush dolls that my DD still plays with.

  • Great ideas, thank you so much ladies!
  • My little one has loved little people play sets for years we've been getting them for her since about 2 she's 4 and still plays with them almost daily. She has all the princess ones, there's a cars one she likes and the sea world type one with the Dolphins
