For the most part I'm a stay-at-home mom. I own a dog walking and pet sitting company but have enough employees to allow me to stay home with DS all day. My parents take DS on Wednesdays, though, so I can lead group hikes with a bunch of dogs. I also work 2 evenings a week at a local wine store to keep my sanity
ETA: In my "other life" I was in marketing for financial services companies. I landed my dream job as marketing manager for a London-based company before I realized I hated what I did and promptly quit. I started the dog walking company 4 years ago and haven't looked back!
Programmer/Analyst. I work in a department that is mostly all guys. Yay. I love my job, but the hours are long and it's usually pretty demanding. For example, I had to work the entire Fourth of July weekend...
I also have to constantly explain to my parents that 'No, I do not know how to fix your computer.' So that's fun.
DH actually does the same thing too so as a present after we found out I bought him a onesie that says 'Beta Release'.
Mostly a SAHM. I am also a professional blogger and Etsy shop owner but am currently taking a break from blogging. Life is crazy and I'm doing some reevaluating.
Pre-kiddo--- I was a daycare worker for a number of years but was most recently a substitute teacher. I have my B.S. in Child Development and my para-professional (ed tech) certification but I much preferred subbing to an ed tech/teacher's assistant job. I was a full-time sub but loved the variety of different kids, job, schools, etc. Every day was a little different.

I am a graduate student studying counseling. It's a lot of hard work but so rewarding. I am also a graduate research assistant and just got a job working with adults with severe mental illness.
I'm a licensed clinical social worker. I work part-time in an elementary school 3 mornings a week and then I do my private practice in the afternoons on those days. I'm not sure that I'll return to the school after this next baby though. I absolutely love the work but my schedule is otherwise completely flexible and having to get 2 kids out the door by 7:30 for such a short amount of time just doesn't seem worth it. Either way I still get two days home with DS during the week and that's perfect for me. It keeps me sane to get up, shower and interact with adults a few days a week.
I am an elementary school nurse and love (almost) every second of it! My kids are great and I love being a "health detective" - using sometimes very vague and interesting "clues" to figure out what is causing that tummy ache or "yucky" feeling!
I used to work on a pediatric psych floor, which was a 24 hr locked inpatient unit with patients age 4-18. I was the night shift/Baylor shift nurse so I would work 7pm-7am Sat and Sun and then two 8hr 11pm-7am shifts during the week. After getting physically attacked by patients one too many times at 3am with no backup because the other staff were all on "smoke breaks", I figured it was time to move on.
Now I have perfect hours, awesome working conditions, and I still get to use all my mental health assessment skills. Not to mention summers and holidays off! This is totally my dream job and I couldn't be happier! Ok, maybe if the pay was a little better...
I'm a high school English teacher and (sometimes) curriculum writer for a city school district. I have my BA in English Literature and Jazz Music, a cert. in Medieval and Renaissance Studies, and an MA in Teaching. I always thought I would use my music background to perform in the "summers off" of teaching, but when I get down to it, the summer is really only a month after trainings and workshops. Since I had had DS, I have relished that one month as a SAHM and wish I could do that full-time-- or maybe work from home. There are days that I really enjoy teaching though, and I would feel bad leaving the students, my fellow teachers, and a steady job.
I am a radiologic technologist that just graduated with my BS, but i'm currently not working since we're about to move. Not sure if this is where I want to be career wise as I hate being on call. I think i'll try to find clinic jobs only so that it will limit the time away from the kiddos. Thinking about getting my Masters in Healthcare Admin or Management at some point, so that I can get a Department Manager job.
I am a Graphic Disgner for a company that creates collision repair training. So I make illustrations and take/edit photos of cars/parts all day. I do a little photography/design on the side but would like to do more.
@krands7 You should still try to perform if you can! For me, performing is my main way to relax and treat myself.
I have 3 gigs lined up for this month and let me tell you, as a public school employee, I NEED the extra cash! I do mostly funerals (morbid, but surprisingly lucrative) and weddings (a lot more work, what with fussy brides, but still a great way to make a quick $500-$1000 on a night!)
And, for whatever reason, last time I was pregnant, I got booked a lot more. It was weird, but brides-to-be would see the bump and immediately like me, even if I know it wasn't my best audition. Even families hiring me for funerals seemed more interested when I was pregnant. Maybe because my voice is just a touch lower? I don't know, but I am going to really milk it this time!
I'm a clinical social worker at a non-profit. Specifically I supervise a children's program and provide direct services, so it's a nice balance between administrative, supervisory, and clinical responsibilities.
I'm an RN in a labor/delivery/postpartum unit. I love my job and love helping all the little miracles into the world. I currently work full time night shift, but will be going to days sometime in the spring.
I am a research analyst at an IT advisory and consulting firm. I lead the contact center and customer engagement research track and assist with the unified communications research track. Basically - I design a lot of research projects, go out and perform interviews/surveys to gather research, write tons of reports on my research, then do live speaking and such as well. I travel a lot, but when I'm not traveling, I get to work from home 100%.
Social Studies teacher at an arts integrated title one school. I teach 7th and 8th grade so world history and American History. I love my job, now do I still have the problem kids that seems like no matter what I do I cannot reach them. Yep, but all the other kids that I am reaching I love and guess what some of the students I thought I was not reaching in 7th grade came back and said they missed me. Yeah happy moment!

OMG! You have my dream/goal gig. I won't have enough supervised clinical hours to sit for my LCSW exam until next August. I started my social work career in macro/ community focused practice.
I am a listing coordinator for a commercial real estate firm. I market all properties listings on the internet and outside at the properties. I also provide relief for our front desk admins.
(Me) 30 & (DH) 32 {Together 11 years - Married 04.17.15}
I manage internal meetings and events for a consulting firm. Long hours, occasionally annoying people to deal with, but good pay, occasional good perks, and I love my company. Been with them for 18 years.
I'm a sonographer. Two days a week I do OBGYN, and the others days I do a mix of vascular, abdomen, and small parts exams. I love being able to preform a broad range of exams and not being so specialized so that I have to spend every day doing the same exam over and over again. I love doing 1st trimester scans as its so exciting to see the heart beat for the first time. I loathe the 20 week anatomy scans though. Patients are only concerned about finding out the gender and not that I'm trying to rule out very serious abnormalities and get precise measurements. It very often turns into quite the circus with 10 plus relatives looking over my shoulder and screaming toddlers destroying the exam room. But I absolutely love my job and can't imagine doing anything else.
@Charla1224 Ugh getting my hours was TORTURE! I wanted to leave my job at the time SO badly but I promised myself I would stay until I got all my hours. It's definitely worth it in the end, and I'm so glad I stuck it out because the flexibility that I have now (and money honestly!) is incredible, especially with a little one. Good luck finishing up your hours, you're almost there!

I'm a 6th grade Social Studies teacher and I love it! It's my third year teaching the same thing, which makes it easier.
After the baby comes, I'm going to try to get a job with a distance learning school if I can so I can work from home.
