My Dr said we would schedule it at my next appt. Last time in had no issues with it. I know most people complain and it but the drink I had didn't taste bad at all and I felt fine. I'm hoping this time it goes the same. I'll be doing mine around 28 weeks.
Scheduled mine after the anatomy scan Monday. It will be on 3rd November at 28+2. I'm not looking forward to it, but the upside is I get another ultrasound scan while I'm waiting for the second blood draw.
Mine is in 3 weeks when I'm 27 weeks. They're letting me drink apple juice at home 45 min before my appointment so it won't be a hassle fortunately. I will have to lay off the ice cream that week though
I have mine scheduled for my 28 week appt the beginning of November. I failed the one hour test with DD but passed the 3 hour test. We'll see what happens this time. I didn't think the drink was awful, I got orange flavored and it was just super sweet.
I had an early glucose test a few weeks ago at 20 weeks. The orange drink was delicious I thought - it was super cold which always helps. If you have a problem with the taste, bring a straw and ask that it be refrigerated in advance--- that helped with my colonoscopy prep. The only bad thing for me was that it made my heart race (I have a heart condition) so when I go back in 2 weeks for the regular glucose test they are having me eat like 21 jelly beans instead of the drink.
Starting next week, 24 weeks, I'm going to the ob every two weeks and she said I can take it anywhere from 24-28 weeks. I don't need to schedule it in advance since they have a lab in their office. Last time it wasn't bad. I drank the drink when I checked in for my regular appointment, saw the dr and had just a short wait till the blood draw.
I had an early test due to diabetes in my family. The drink was not as bad as I expected at all. I did get sick when I got home but if could have been what I ate. I passed so will take another one around 7 months.

What a chore, lol... I would much rather have jelly beans than the drink even though it isn't really that bad. I just love jelly beans. OP mine isn't yet scheduled but will probably be around 28w like most others here, so I'm guessing that'll put it at the end of October. Maybe I'll ask if I can eat a ton of Halloween candy or candy corn instead.
Mine is scheduled for Oct 21. I don't really see the big deal of it. At my 24week (next week) they give me the drink to take home and the sheet of paper about it and then an hour before the apt or whatever the sheet says, you just drink the drink. Then you go to the doc... Idk with my first it was no big deal. I guess if something goes differently this time I may change my opinion.
I'm having mine on the 30th of this month at 26 weeks. The lab is located at the same facility as my OB, so I'll take my drink before my appt and get my blood drawn after. Two weeks after that is the rhogam shot for me and then I'll be on weekly appts. Crazy!

I would have loved to do mine at home. I had to switch doctors due to insurance reasons and the new doctor wanted the early test done. I was at my appointment and he asked if I could go to the lab downstairs and have it done I of course said yes. When I got there I realized I would be sitting for an hour with a phone on 5% battery and two magazines (Budget Travel) in the waiting area. The tech apologized for the lack of magazines and said that since people always steal them her boss decided not to order them anymore. An hour goes by really slow when you are sitting there alone with a dead phone and no reading material staring at a wall. I would have been prepared but my car was in a parking garage and takes at least 20 mins because of high traffic and construction to get I didn't exactly want to have them get it and grab a magazine and bring it back!
I'm doing mine a few days before my next appointment which is October 12. I was being seen by an OB and they were just gonna do the glucola drink which I was totally fine with, but since I've switched to a midwife, she gave me a glucose meter and directions on a drink to make with honey and to take my own measurements before, after 1, and 2 hours. I'm not worried about it at all. I've already done one of the 1 hour ones at 13 weeks
Mine is in 8 weeks. Good news is I get the drink at my next appt, and can drink it at home before my 28w appt. So that sure beats sitting in a lab like I did with my other pregnancies.
Mine is Oct 9th at 28 weeks. I also have the pleasure of having my Tdap and flu shot scheduled during that appointment as well. My OB mentioned this is the one appointment that isn't ideal but threw in another ultrasound to check in on babies size for fun. I cannot complain about that because now DH wants to come and entertain me during the hour so he can attend the ultrasound.
I am opting out of this screen, unless I develope any symptoms of diabetes. I have no risk factors, and even The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists does not recommend every single pregnant woman get screened for this condition (there are specific low risk women who they say do not need it). Up to 24 out of every 100 women diagnosed with gestational diabeters does not actually have it, and for me getting put into this 'high risk' group unnecessarily is not something I choose to do. My urine is tested at every appt for sugar and any symptoms of blood sugar issues would of course change my situation and my decision.
Link to an interesting article with study results of pros and cons of the testing, accuracy and treatment. Lots of citations of actual scientific studies linked.
I haven't scheduled mine yet, but last time (I think pp may have mentioned this) it helped to have the drink be super cold, and then just chug it without a straw if you have to get the nasty tasting drink. My OB doesn't offer flavored ones or anything, so it just tastes awful. The straw takes longer and you tend to taste it more if you don't just chug, so last time I took the lid off and polished in off in a few seconds. Think of it like shot gunning a beer. Or, you know, deep-throating.
Mine is scheduled in 3 weeks. I'll be 26 weeks then. I'm a FTM so I don't know what to expect but a lot of people said it's pretty good..like a flat soda. My mom said it's like drinking maple syrup first thing in the morning. I don't like soda or anything sweet in the morning but I've had to drink colon prep so I doubt I'll have any complaints about this.
I go back sept 30 for my 24 week, then I will schedule my glucose screen for my 28 weeks so sometime right before Halloween. It wasn't terrible with DS but I don't like having to sit and wait for an hour, and not being able to drink any water for an hour.
Mine is scheduled for my 24w appointment. They scheduled me to drink it at 830am, then get my next necessary ultrasound while I wait at 9am which is nice (although I can't imagine what the tech will be able to see, since that baby will likely be moving like crazy!), and then see the doctor at 930am when my ultrasound is done at the hour mark.
I have the order and just need to go to the clinic and have it done. Probably next week. Not looking forward to it so I'll do it first thing in am and get it over with
I did one at 12w and repeat a week later with 3hr. Family history of diabetes and my weight plus twins and history of hypertension... they said it was all for baseline but I have been monitoring sugars (supposed to at least) 4x a day. Sometimes I miss one post meal or wake up hungry and miss a fasting. My sugars are great 2hr post meal, but my failures are always fasting. Technically I have gestational diabetes but only control at night for fasting since double placentas make even more sugars at night.
I took mine a week back and it was alright. They gave me a yucky orange coloured juice BUT I actually liked it !
Those of you not taking it at home, please go prepared/armed with something to kill time.
@ellaxo1 - I totally feel for u !!! I was stuck with crappy magazines and all my lives in Candy Crush Saga ran out in like 10 mins ! I was totally staring at the wall for the rest of the time.
I had mine today .... Blah. The drink is totally fine, I did fruit punch. It's the not eating that sucks. Then drinking that super sugary drink, it gave me the worst headache. Also the lobby chairs get uncomfortable after 2 hours. On the upside (or downside if you ask my dh) I bought a bunch of super cute maternity clothes from Pink Blush. Though I am having some buyers remorse on one dress and they won't let me remove it from my order (
