Even just seeing this post continue to pop up makes me anxious!!! I hope people aren't going to change their diet based on what folks on the internet say they have or haven't gained - seems like something a doctor or midwife should be able to help with easily!
I'm 23 weeks today. Pretty sure I've gained about 20lbs if I remember correctly. Last time I was at the doctors office I asked about my weight and my husband ratted me out saying I weigh myself daily. (Which I was) My doctor told me to stop doing that and well, what do you know.... The scale in my house has magically disappeared. I'll find out at my next appointment.
Everyone is so different here for many different reasons...but to back up a previous poster who had gained a normal amount of weight...I'm almost 22 weeks and have gained 15 lbs so far. I'm 5'3 and pretty small, like 110 pre preg. Doc is totally on board. This thread is pointless, but seeing post after post of people who have lost weight makes me inclined to share my numbers. My doc said 10-20 pounds by 20 weeks was considered the normal range.
15 lbs at 20 weeks. I thought I was doing pretty good will I got on here....
It's not a competition to see who can gain the least amount of weight. You're growing a baby, please listen to your doctor's advice about what is healthy and appropriate for you.
I previously posted saying I haven't gained anything, not to rub it in anyone's face. I'm actually concerned that I haven't gained anything but at my ultrasound everything was fine. The normal weight gain rage has been posted and like pp said, we are growing babies so you WANT to gain weight. I just wanted to jump in and say not gaining weight can be worrying and am jealous of you ladies who have gained a healthy amount. I'm mentioning it at my next midwife appointment. But everyone is different and what is normal for me isn't normal for other people.
@shinyspade Ditto...that was my reason for posting about a lack of weight gain...those who are gaining may not realize that those who don't are just as concerned! I've finally started to gain a tiny bit (still at 5lbs tops at the heaviest part of my day) and I REJOICE with each half pound gained, I've been nervous I wasn't giving my baby as much as she needed, despite constant eating. It has given me comfort to see other ladies here haven't gained a lot, since it was something I was nervous about! Looking through ALL of the posts, not just what my brain picks out, I've seen a HUGE range of different weight gains here, which just goes to show how different we all are, and all of it is okay as long as our doctors aren't concerned
The real issue here is that the other day I realized the serving size for Oreos is THREE.... THREE. I don't care if you've gained or lost ten thousand pounds if you can eat just 3 Oreos you deserve a medal.
Speaking of everyone needing to calm their tots about the weight gain..I may or may not have sent our scale tumbling down the stairs the other day after setting it on our ledge and attempting to weigh my boobs. I regret nothing.
Eta- was going to go back and edit "tots" to "tits" but I really ♡ how "calm your tots" sounds and now I want tater tots

) Welp that's settled, I'm having Manwiches and tater tots for dinner! I know it doesn't sound healthy, but there are little bits of veggies in the sloppy joe sauce, and tots are technically a veggie, amirite??? Also, my digital scale always errors out on the first try, so I might need to put it out of its misery!
Oh yes, my boobs are sooo much bigger! Enjoying the weight gain on them, I didn't have that much before, I feel like a proper woman now :-)! They rest nicely on my bump now when I'm sitting down, Good Times! Xxxxxx
Our new favorite quick meal at home is turkey sloppy joes over a baked potato with plain Greek yogurt. It counts as most of the major food groups, right?

Nobody else's numbers matter.
