My dad passed away today...

Re: My dad passed away today...

  • I would go. You need that closure. If you go into labor, your baby is already full term.

  • I am so sorry for your loss @gerbies. I can't even begin to imagine how hard this must be right now. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
  • I'm so sorry. I lost my father when I was 13 weeks suddenly from heart, lung, and kidney failure. I'm 22 years old and now 34 weeks pregnant. It's so painful I can't bear saying his name aloud. I'm also having a baby boy. My husband suggested naming him after my dad but I just can't do that. I would cry every time I said his name. My dad was 61. It helps my mom get through it to have her first grandbaby coming. I'm so sorry for your loss and that you are so far away. Your father would understand and not want you to be stressed so far along. Please take good care and try to stay positive even though it's hard to do
  • I'm so sorry for your loss. You will honor your dad by the way you love and raise your son and I know you'll make him proud.
  • I'm terribly sorry for you. It's horrible news to hear but I firmly believe that your dad is going to be watching over that little baby like a guardian for the rest of his or her life. It's never easy- but you can say goodbye in your mind and heart without being there. The days you spent with him are more important than these days are. You're in my thoughts.
  • So sorry for your loss. Your Dad will live on through your memories and all the wonderful stories you can tell your baby about him.
  • Thank you all for the kind words. My dad was only 67...which nowadays isn't really that old. I am over 37 weeks and all of the airlines will not allow you to board and fly (I would be flying from CT to CA). I think my family will do another ceremony when I am able to travel (he is being cremated).
