  • Just out of curiosity how do you change your little one? @SassetteSmurfling
  • Depends where we are...if she is on the changing pad on the bureau head to my right...on the couch pad or PnP, feet towards me.

I do head to the right. Which everyone tells me is wrong because I'm right handed so like @megvaddi said, it technically makes more sense to have the dominant hand do more of the "work" and the non dominant hand just hold the legs. But I've always changed all 3 of my kids with head to the right. It just feels more natural to me for some reason.

But baths I do head to the left. Haha I guess I can't make up my mind.
  • Lol I've always done feet towards me. I thought that was the "normal" way until LO was in the nicu & was changed by the nurses head to left which then that's how I did it too while she was their. So I say do it however you want to and is more comfortable! :)
  • @SassetteSmurfling oh ok! I agree with @megvaddi as long as they are in a clean diaper what does it matter.
  • I have his head to my right or his feet toward me. I am left handed and have noticed that DH (right handed) puts his head to left.
  • Im left handed and have head to the left. DH is right handed and he does opposite, but screw anyone who says I do it wrong. The diaper is on and secure, I dare you to tell me to do it better, however, ill let you know if youre putting the diaper on MY child wrong. >:)
  • @Lalala2326 both my toddlers were terrified of public changing tables so I used to change both of them standing on the tables.

I can't blame them. They kinda terrify me too! :P

This!! I havent used a changing table in a bathroom yet, they gross me out. I open up the back hatch of our jeep and lay her back there to change her when we are out.
  • I'm left handed so I have her head to the right and change, wipe with my left hand while holding the legs with my right hand.

I never know its wrong until my husband does it and her head is to the left. Which freaks me out since the left has the drop off and when she gets bigger what if she scoots herself and falls! It's never happened with our three kids but I always think it's way smarter to do it MY WAY hahaha. Then her head is towards the counter piece.
  • Shout out to my fellow lefties! :D

I actually change/wipe with my right hand but I'm ambidextrous with a lot of things. But a lot of lefties are due to it being a right handed world. (Seriously, angled spatulas are the devil for us.) But also my hubby is a righty so the supplies are kept on the right side. Not a big deal. I do however leave the coffee pot handle turned to the left which drives him crazy lol :)
  • Quickly! Ppl are crazy. Screw em

Yeah public changing tables aren't for us. I was gifted a Vera Bradley roll-up/ folding wipable mat that matches my diaper bag, I use it everywhere, on the public changing tables, back hatch of the car, on the couch lol... not sure where you could find one but I'm sure it would be worth the search!
