I was driving with DH today and was thinking about all the things I have had to give up or put on hold sense having kids. so I thought it would be fun to hear about all the other sacrifices you guys have made or foresee making for FTMs on your road to become/ becoming a parent. for me the most recently has been giving up my dream teaching job (for now) to be able to stay at home with DS and soon to be. and also I love hiking and the outdoors but it has been two years now sense I have been to my favorite hiking spots... sigh but I know I will get back to the mountains... someday....

Otherwise, I feel so lucky to have a beautiful daughter who is letting me experience childhood again and look forward to doing it all again with #2!
ETA- I don't do cold cuts because I just don't like them and am also not a huge cheese fan but I'm lactose intolerant.

Our family of 5 is complete!! Love our boys!
Mine too! I catch her talking in her sleep! If I'm napping she walks past DH to come ask ME something he could answer for her! Ugh lol. We could've watched the same movie 20 times in a row, and she will still ask me the SAME QUESTIONS about the movie instead of watching and LISTENING to what they are saying! I can't even get in the shower or go to the bathroom without her following me, to TALK. And she is ELEVEN! I have been kicking her out every time, but she STILL does it! and if I'm in the bath, she will just sit on the toilet and talk to me. She will snap "Your'e not even listening to me!" to which I have to reply, "then stop TALKING!!!" lol.
In her defense, she was evaluated for having difficulty in school. Her verbal IQ is ABOVE GENIUS level lmao! What she has difficulties with is taking her thoughts and turning them into written word. If she could talk her way through homework without having to write- she would be top in her class!
What I actually miss most is pretty weird. I miss other people's teenagers! Ha ha!! I recently switched careers to be a high school science teacher. I LOVED my clinical hours, student teaching experience, and last year my own classroom. I loved it! But being a new teacher with 3 different subjects to prepare for when you have no portfolio or experience with a district's curriculum is very stressful. I was so stressed that I had a miscarriage at the end of the school year. (Little to no sleep, skipping meals, too much caffeine, etc). Doc advised me to not take on so much stress and relax. I was so devastated last year that I turned down an extension on my contract and opted to be an on-call substitute this year. I really wanted to try for a baby and have a relaxed pregnancy. I really miss seeing the same group of kids everyday, miss the daily interactions with kids. They're really all hilarious in their own way and are really a good age group. Teens get a bad reputation. Ugh... Now I'm sad.
