My first set was fraternal, to be induced at 38 weeks. I ended up going into preterm labor at 33 weeks then delivering at 36 weeks. However, I'm reading they like to induce identicals at 36 weeks...is this true? I have yet to meet with the specialist for this pregnancy (monozygotic twins) but I'm curious...if you were induced at 36 weeks, what kind of NICU time did your twins have?
I was pregnant with identical twins and my obgyn told me they were going to induce me at 36 weeks bc the placenta starts to die. He told me to expect about 2weeks in the NICU. Unfortunately I gave birth at 27weeks due to the rare twin to twin transfusion.
My aunts identicals were induced at 39 weeks. They were very healthy and 7 pounds each. I wouldn't want to be induced at 36 weeks. I wonder why they feel 36 weeks is best.
