Well ladies I was due 9/9 and I am past due. This is my first so I don't know the norm for pregnancy. Besides some back pain here and there I feel fine.
Any advice or information about how long I could possibly still be pregnant?
My due date is today and the doctor said they will let me go another 2 weeks before inducing.. Just like you, this is my first and I feel great not a single contraction. Hang in there, hopefully not too much longer for the both of us!
My due date was the same as you and the latest they will let me go before being induced is 10 days past (so next Saturday there will be a baby regardless)
My due date was yesterday, at my last appointment (9/9) I was dilated 2cm, whereas the week before I was completely closed, so doc said he feels labor will come in the next couple of days, but if not by Monday we will schedule an induction (I've had spikes in blood pressure at the end of my pregnancy). Here's to hoping he makes and appearance this weekend and all our overdue babies decide to make their way out !
Ah okay thanks ladies! I'm only allowed leave of absence since my company keeps me under hours so they don't have to offer me health care.
So I am actually still working until my Dr (under covered California ) says that I need to stop and then from there I start my 6 weeks of leave (only 6 if I give a natural birth; a little more if I have a cesarean).
Everybody is probably so sick of me posting on these kinda posts but i am 9 days over today! Yes a pretty fed up and past it mamma...2 days until my induction journey starts! Xx
3 days past due and during the worst heat wave of the year! The baby is getting so big his movements are painful at times and put so much pressure on my cervix! I'm very uncomfortable over here!
Just one day overdue which is a huge surprise to me. I've been 3cm dilated for almost 3 weeks. I had my bloody show almost 3 weeks ago. I had two nights in a row of pretty bad contractions after sex that were pretty consistent for hours then just stopped. I'm scheduled to be induced on Friday if he doesn't come out before then but I'm so uncomfortable!
I was due sept 11. My son I had at 39 weeks exactly so i wasn't expecting to go over due. Was 3 cm dilated and 50% effaced 2 weeks ago. Then 4 cm and 60% this past week. They even did a membrane sweep this past appointment also. Pretty uncomfortable. They have not mentioned induction at all to me and next appointment isn't until the 17th. Hoping something will happen soon.
I've read from several sources that first babies are on average 9-10 days late, so you might have a little longer to go. Depending on your age, health, baby, and care provider they will usually start considering an induction (or even a x-section) at about 41 weeks +. For example, my midwife doesn't recommend an induction until nearly 42 weeks unless there is an issue, but I've had a very low key pregnancy and am in good health. The concern once you are "overdue" is usually related to the placenta aging, so they will likely closely monitor that and discuss your options based upon what they see.
Regardless, you are SO close to meeting your little one face to face!! How very exciting!!
It may not work for everyone but sex seems to be working for me! I wasn't dilated at all Tuesday, and had not a single cramp. Been having sex every day since and now I've had cramps and what I think are contractions (painful period cramps with tightening) for the past two days. I also have had bloody show for the past two days... So hopefully I am making progress! It may not be 100% effective, but from what I've heard it's the most effective method to START dilation. I don't know about if it helps continue dilation... There is a hormone in semen that is supposed to help with dilation called prostaglandin. Neat stuff! Hope something starts happening for you soon and that it happens quick so you're not in pain for weeks!! :-bd :-bd
