Re: FFFC 9/11/15

  • This is one reason I'm glad I'm a working mom.  I love my showers.  I have to do it in the morning before work or I feel way too gross.

I need a mommy stash. I've been skipping on showers too.
My FFFC is I'm a cliché and have been addicted to pickles this pregnancy. I'm about to go drink some of the pickle juice. I disgust myself.
  • I thought of another one:

I hate my husband's fishing hobby. He has Fridays off of work, and inevitably spends the day fishing. (He left today at 12:30 and isn't home yet - it's 5:00 here.) I know, logically, that it's not fair to demand he spend his days off at home helping me out. But I'm a stay at home mom and I never get a day off to do what I want for hours on end. I think I might start telling him I'm going to match him hour for hour. If he spends 6 hours fishing today, I get to spend 6 hours doing what I want tomorrow! Think that'll fly?
    It's absolutely fair.

  • Here's one. I've struggled with varicose veins since I was 14. (Omg, ikr?!) Today I got my 1st pair of compression stockings (2 other varieties in the mail as we speak) and these things are AMAZING! I feel like the most excited 85 year old (really 31 lol but my left leg just disagrees with that young age) in the whole world! Yay me! Or better, yay my mom because they were a gift from her! :D

Yes, this. I'm not joking either!

I work part-time and dh is full-time. This year the girls' schedule has changed now that our oldest is in kindy, so dh gets 2 to 4 hours of freedom Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays while I go pick the girls up and bring them to the park. So now I'm starting to request at least 6 hours of me-time a week. It's only fair!
  • My confession: I'm a little jealous of the other pregnant woman in my office. She's only about 5 weeks ahead of me, but since it's her 2nd she's already had an adorable little bump for like 6 weeks already. Meanwhile, its my first and I've just entered the "maybe it looks like a bump" phase, but it's more that I can't suck in my belly fat anymore, so I feel like a cow every time I see her at work. It's been a long week.
  • I also have a secret junk food stash. I use it to keep Dh on track. He literally has zero will power and has always struggled with his weight. I might indulge a craving here and there (see below), but I have at least some restraint.

My confession is that I just drove 120 minutes to the next town over so that I could have Taco Bell. Not somethingn I would usually want but I literally could not get it out of my head! It was worth every second!

DH and I were JUST talking about this tonight. He was all caught up in football last night and I guess my mere presence in the living room was annoying him. So tonight he made a comment along the lines of "I've always wanted a man cave but now I understand the importance of it. When we have kids I need somewhere to go so you guys can't bother me."

I went off on this rant about how he can't just hide away from his responsibilities and how I certainly won't get to do that. I ended up just telling him the same thing: I get as much time off on my own as you spend in your man cave!
  • Good luck girl convincing your hubby to give you even time off. I have been trying to do that for 2+ years and no luck yet

It's only fair, I leave my kids with my husband all the time to hang out with my friends or go shopping on my own. I also take time for myself because if I'm not happy no one in the house will be. My husband learned this early on and makes sure to encourage I go do stuff for myself.

Myself and my girlfriends here have similar set ups... I am one of the last to have a baby and there is give and take on nights out etc ... aka who has baby duty

Today we are all going to the men's game, having a couple of pints and controlling the horde of babies... tomorrow is boys duty while we go off and play. This does mean when we want to do something all together it and babysitters need to be scheduled in advance (oct 3rd was booked sometime in Aug)
