Huggies- good bad and the ugly

I have a couponing opp to get 250 Huggies diapers for 15 dollars. I've only used Honest Diapers and Pampers at this point. What's your take on Huggies? A great deal might not be worth blow outs and stinky smells. Thanks all

I've never had blow outs or terrible smells with huggies. I don't prefer them though because they are extremely bulky.

For that price is buy them and use them though. Good luck

Leaks unless you pull out the ruffles on the legs. I always forgot.

I'm using Huggies Little Snugglers now as we got a lot for our baby shower. Haven't had any issues yet but it's only been three days. I actually prefer them to the Pampers Baby Dry which are scented and I'm pretty sure caused a rash on my LO.

DD was allergic to huggies and found they leaked and you could smell the pee soon after them going.

We had leak issues early on with Huggies so we stopped using them. But it might have just been because of DS" lower weight.

I absolutely HATE Huggies!! We got an economy size box of newborn size Huggies as a gift so I opened them up when we got home from the hospital. We had either a leak or blowout every day. I had DH pick up some Pampers and we haven't had any problems since. I still have 50-60 Huggies but I definitely won't be using them unless there is a major emergency.

I never preferred them as I felt like they smelled like pee as soon as they went. I also didn't like how thick they were. That said, I would likely use them if I got them for a deal or free.

Can't stand huggies! I had a really hard time lining up the tabs and getting the back to lay flat on size 1. When I used the newborn ones, I felt like I was fastening a string bikini.

They always smell .. I mean reek of pee as soon as they pee in them.. Which idk about yall, but I learned my lesson to wait a bit before changing as soon as I notice they've gone. It took being popped on and peed on multiple times before learning this.

At least with pampers, I know they went but I don't have to smell that gosh awful pee smell, along with a wired feeling diaper .. And I don't often get poo-splosions with pampers. I'll be glad when LO is big enough to fit in our Grovia! Love my cloth diapers!! And just got 4 ONES that need broken in!

I've not used them myself, but have never heard a good comment about them from friends and family. I've known a lot of people that had rashes caused by them.

I prefer huggies. They fit DD better than pampers. Walmart had the 112 packs for $15 last week and I thought that was a deal. I stocked up.

I've always had leakage with huggies. We had a huge newborn box. Couldn't wait to get through them. Everyday we had either poop or pee go through all her clothes and bedding. I only use pampers swaddlers. I had a package of luvs too with success. But pampers feel better. I guess it depends on the child because some people only use huggies and some pampers.

Huggies leak for us too unless you pull the ruffles out. They do reak like pee though but it wasn't a big deal, I just change her when I smell it. I do like that they have the line on them that changes color when they are wet.

I always heard pampers works better for thinner babies with string bean legs and huggies works better for chunkier babies. My baby is a string bean though and love pampers.

They had our son on huggies in the hospital. Honestly, I like Huggies. No issues with them. We are using pampers now...only because we brought a ton of the pampers brand before he was even born. But I wouldn't hesitate to go to Huggies once we are done with the pampers brand.

I only use huggies. We returned a couple boxes of pampers to buy huggies because they worked better after the first week. It must depend on the size of the baby, our guy has grown very quickly from 7.5lbs to 10.5lbs in 4 weeks. There may be some truth behind the chunkier babies doing better in huggies.

I don't know about the chunky babies and huggies. My daughter is a little chunker (we call her little moo moo) and huggies are a no go.

I'm a firm believer that diapers, bottles, pacifiers, etc, are very baby specific.

That being said, I used huggies exclusively for DD1. Never had a problem. Never smelled a pee smell like some PPs have said. Never really had blow outs (I mean maybe occasionally if it was a particularly bad poop, but DDs normal BMs were fine).

With DS I used every store brand imaginable. I would just pick up diapers wherever I was and never had problems. With DD2 so far we've used pampers, up&up, and white cloud (Walmart brand). She's only had one blow out in her 6 weeks, and again I don't really blame the diaper, just a particularly large poop.

I would buy the huggies for that deal. If you notice immediately they don't work for your baby you can probably sell the rest on a yard sale site or something.

I was thinking the same thing. It doesn't really matter what worked for another LO, your LO has a different shape and different BM tendencies.

I am willing to try any brand once, for the right price.
