Hey I'm getting my diaper bag together and wanted to know if your baby comin home outfit has to have tags on it or is it okay for the new outfit to be washed and put into the hospital Bag

I am a FTM but I washed everything! Not sure why it would need tags? Or am I misunderstanding the question?

Um, I'm not sure why you'd think baby's coming home outfit needed the tags still on it. You definitely want to wash it first. If you're worried about the size/fit, bring a couple of outfit options to choose from in different sizes.

The hospital will even provide a plain onesie for baby to go home in if you needed. They won't send your baby home naked

Wash your babies clothes. You don't want to know what they go thru before you bring them home.

You don't need to prove you have new clothes to bring baby home. Washed and second hand clothes are perfectly acceptable.

Take the tags off and wash the clothes. Bring a couple of NB and a couple 0-3m outfits, that way you know your baby will fit into something! You don't need brand new clothes to take your child home.

Aren't you supposed to wash all baby clothes before wearing... they ship them with chemicals sprayed to prevent bugs etc

I washed all of his clothes already .. Someone told me that what you bring the baby home in has to still have the tags on it when you bring it to the hospital .. Just curious if It was true

@ineeneecakes29 I think they were messing with you, or they have no idea what they are talking about. Bring a couple changes of clean clothes for your baby and you will be fine!

I don't know who told you that, but no, it's not true.

Edit to add: clothes just have to be washed and you've done that, so you are good to go.
