Re: How to deal with annoying pregnancy skin issues

  • Im super itchy. Dont remember my skin being such a pain in the butt with my last two pregnancies.

  • I have had terrible skin since started fertility treatments last November. I started getting medical facials and it has helped with both skin and relaxation. Figure I am going to treat myself while I still have time and a little money
  • I've suffered from acne and had doctor prescribed treatments for it since I was a teenager. I've only found my acne cleared within the last year and I finally went off the meds. Now that I'm pregnant it's back! Gah! This time I'm just using tea tree oil as I only want natural things while I'm pregnant.

Sorry about your skin... mine is awful right now too. I get pretty embarrased about it some days.
Do you just dab the TeaTree on pure? Hows it working?

  • Yeah, I just dab it on. So far I'm not sure it's working that great. It brings down the redness and swelling a little I guess. Just not as powerful as stuff I used before. But that's to be expected I suppose.
  • My face is broken out horribly the past couple of weeks (I'm in my 5th week) I haven't found anything to help it.

But, I did have some eczema on my arms and legs, and have been keeping it hydrated with cerave cream and using cortisone cream for the itch. It has since completely cleared up.
  • I havent had any issues except itching my boobs
  • Im on my 5th week and my skin is the same i have been using a hydrated cream and its been good so far x
  • I used a face mask tonight and restarted my advocare skim regimine. Time to get this skin back under control. I'm not 12!!!
  • I've been dealing with breakouts since having IVF. It's crazy, but dabbing Listerine on zits helped soo much!
  • Ugh. Acne. I've usually had clear skin until my periods or if I'm pregnant. I'm not sure what I can do because some medications aren't very safe. But I will definitely be trying your recommendations. My mom had acne when she was pregnant with my brother but clear skin with my sister and I. Maybe it's a sign?
  • I am so happy to see I'm not alone on the acne boat, here! I've had clear skin all my life and this is my first pregnancy... Now I'm battling BOTH dry/itchy skin and acne like a 16 yo teen! I have been afraid to put anything on my skin BC I didn't know how it might effect the pregnancy, especially since I'm so early in the 1st tri. I like the humidifier idea. I'm going to looking into buying one asap!
  • I have terrible acne when I'm pregnant. I just bought some probiotic face wash through Lemongrass Spa and the facial mist. It's all natural ingredients and so far it's actually working. I'll have my fingers crossed I won't look like an adolescent boy this pregnancy.
  • My face was breaking out like crazy, so I went to the store and bought Burt's Bees tea tree oil that you just roll the oil onto your acne spots. Never used it before, but it's almost completely cleared up my face!

  • I personally love my clarisonic mia. I've battled acne for years and so far it's been the only thing that helps. I use it with cetaphil (for normal to oily skin). I have a small pimple or two every once and awhile, but no more deep cystic zits. I'm shocked that so far my skin has been the best it's ever been considering I'm 6 weeks preggo, but I probably just jinxed myself :) Right now I'm battle itchy skin (scalp) and bug bites mostly
  • Try using Belli products. I've been using the face wash and it's been working great! They also say it's safe during pregnancy
  • Does tea tree oil really work? My acne is terrible and I've never really had an issue with it.
  • I always had breakouts and it only worsened once I got pregnant. I started using the Biore charcoal bar and it has worked wonders! The best part is the price (only $7) is far less than the expensive kits I was using before that barely worked.
  • So happy to hear everyone's in the same boat as I am.....my face is embarrassing.  Looks like I will be going to the store tomorrow to pick up that charcoal bar and some tea tree oil.  :)
  • I am having the same problem. I never had an acne problem and now I have a new pimple every day! Is it bad to use the clean and clear acne spot treatment while prego?!
  • I was having the same problem! Make sure you're staying hydrated and try to watch the sugar you intake. Also, I will swear by virgin coconut oil for skin! It also helps with stretch marks too! Hope this helps.
  • I love Lush. They're all natural, they have tons of different types of facial and body products.
  • Me too. I don't have the best skin anyways but wow it flared up so bad. I found out I was pregnant at exactly 2 weeks 6 days lol ... And so far a sea salt charcoal exfoliate and misting my face with apple cider vinegar water mix before bed has been helping . Crazyy
  • My cheeks are super dry! Like dry enough I feel like they're going to crack. I've been using coconut oil and it's helping, but I forget to use it everyday.
  • I use Young Living Lavender Essential oil. It's amazing. My skin loves it, and it's all natural, therapeutic-grade, so safe for me and baby. :)
  • How do you guys feel about little dabs of salicylic acid treatment? I've heard differing opinions about this...
  • I've been finding using my clarisonic has helped keep my skin pretty clear, plus i love the pampering it provides!!
  • Hey ladies, I'm 5 weeks 4 days and getting some acne as well. But, something more frustrating for me is a itchy rash I have developed inside my belly button. The rest of my body feels itchy also, but no rash...Has anyone else experienced this? This is my first pregnancy... Help!
  • I use Simple with my Clairsonic Mia... I used Belli 6 years ago with my daughter. I plan on investing in it again if my skin gets horrible again. Tea tree is great for random breakouts!!!
  • I use the Epionce skincare line with my clarisonic and am totally clear!!! Love it :)

I've probably passed this board 20 times before and never gave it a second thought until yesterday when I got a bad pimple right under my chin right along my jaw line and it was painful so I tried to pop it and now it's red and infected looking and so painful! Any recommendations? I finally just took Tylenol because I was ready to cry

My psoriasis & eczema flared up to a whole other level since I got pregnant! I'm trying to stay away from my topical ointment. My dr said pregnancy brings EVERYTHING out. Yay!
  • I've never had acne in my life, at 3 weeks my face totally broke out and my fiancé kept asking me why. At that time I had not taken a test yet but now I can see that was a key indicator.
  • Coconut oil &a apple cider vinegar !!! You will thank me later trust me my skin is flawless !
  • All thanks to coconut oil and apple cider vinegar
  • My skin is so itchy all over and my face is breaking out!! What should I do
  • Is anyone having zits that last like, a week? I never had skin issues before but I'm a week 7 and have one right on my cheek that does not appear to be going anywhere anytime soon. Help.
  • A pregnant gf turned me on to half apple cider vinegar, half water. Dab on cotton and clean face morning and night. Smells gross but cleared me RIGHT up!
  • Ok ladies someone else mentioned this and I found my solution! Burt's Bees all natural blemish stick. I found it at Walmart. It has literally saved my face, chest, and back
