My husband came to all my ultrasound appointments last time, and maybe 2 of my office visits, but just cause of the way our schedules worked out. The office visits are pretty quick and repetitive, and there's no real reason for him to take time off work for that. The ultrasounds are the most interesting, and especially the anatomy scan where you have a good chance at learning the baby's sex (if your LO isn't a little stinker who shoves his umbilical cord between his legs the whole time.)
DH won't go to appointments with me. Last time he went to both ultrasounds and once when I had some bleeding. It's hard enough to schedule around my work let alone his. Also, I see no point in him being there for me to PIAC, get weight, BP taken and leave.
It is all personal preference, as many have stated above. My husband has gone to the first appointment and ultrasounds for my last two babies. We plan to keep that routine going. It's hard to do every appointment with two little ones to care for, and work schedules to balance.
My boyfriend would go to every appointment if I asked him to, but I feel bad doing that to him. I just really want him at the ultrasounds. This is my first and his second, but he was deployed while his ex-wife was pregnant and missed everything.
My H is planning on going to as many as he can. He knows that the big ones (A/S, etc) he'll have to make #1 priority, but the others is really based on how he can shift things around at work.
My husband will be at EVERY appointment. Inconvenient, and this is my second pregnancy. My first pregnancy, my husband almost didn't come to my second appointment because we had already had an ultrasound. But he ended up coming, thank god. There was no detectable heartbeat on the doppler and the ultrasound confirmed a missed miscarriage. I cannot tell you how glad I was that he was there. There are NO guarantees in pregnancy and its always good to have your partner there if possible. Just my two cents.

I understand what you're saying and am glad that your husband was there for you, but this just isn't realistic for a lot of working families.

Luckily my husband's command supports fathers attending every appointment, so yes so far he has been to the first 3. We live near the hospital though and he's in the military so its not to much of a strain on us. Our first ultra sound is coming up and I secretly want my mom there but I'm not sure if that would be weird.
For our first child, DH came to the first appointment (we knew I was getting a transvaginal ultrasound), to the first and fourth anatomy scans (DS didn't want to cooperate and my OB couldn't see everything she needed to in the first three, so then I went to a perinatologist for the fourth).
This time he was out of town for the first appointment (I had a transvaginal ultrasound this time as well). So he'll be at the anatomy scan at the end of November.
The rest of the appointments are PIAC, weight, Doppler, and eventually fundal height measurements. Those he'll skip again.
