when is everyone having their baby shower? I'm 30 weeks and was planning on having it October 10th but I'm afriad maybe that's too close in case I have the baby like my last at 35 weeks. But having it before October 10th is way too soon -_-
My due date is 11/6. My shower is on 9/19. The rest of September is booked with weddings, I don't want to do a damn thing in October but wait for my baby girl to arrive. I am already so uncomfortable and am happy that I chose to don't in September.
My MIL and my brother-in-law's wife are talking about throwing one for me, but I don't know when. I pretty much told them to just pick any Sunday and give me notice so I can make sure I don't have to work. I'll be 32w tomorrow, and I feel like it's really coming down to the wire. We may have to do a sip and see, instead!
My due date is 11/26 and my shower will be 10/10 at 33 weeks. I've been nesting like crazy so I'm going insane not knowing what I need to buy but I'll live lol
I'm due 11/8 and my shower is Sept 19th. My sister and SIL chose the date so we can have a morning brunch type shower with the ladies and then in the afternoon the Nebraska Huskers play the Miami Hurricanes in football so we are going to have a party with the guys too. (My family are big husker fans and my husband is a canes fan so watching this game together is a must.) I'll be 33 weeks and am so glad we didn't wait until later because I'm starting to feel unprepared but don't want to buy anything else until after the shower.

This is basically my mindset. I want to wait until I know what we need, but I don't even know when my shower will be, and I feel like we are in crunch time and I need to buy all the things!
My due date is 11/12 and my shower is on 9/12. Personally I don't feel that it will be to early as I'm looking forward to having all the essentials whether I receive them or purchase them after the shower. I am one that doesn't like to wait to the last minute though.
I am due 11/15 and my showers are 9/12 and 10/11. The September shower is joint shower with my sister in law who was due the week before but now they have a scheduled section in October and the other my DH family is planning and is just a little sprinkle and an excuse to eat cake! I am a little nervous about waiting so long to finish up things but my niece and other sil have offered to help me finish up the shopping during the day while my other kiddos are in school and DH is at work. Crossing my fingers that this little lady doesn't come early
I'm due Nov. 20 and my MIL is throwing my shower on Oct. 25. I'm a tiny bit worried, but hopefully everything will go as planned.
Similar dates! That makes me feel better! My due date is Nov.23 and the shower is Oct. 24! I'm nervous that I'm going to be huge and cranky and too tired to set stuff up or make returns or buy the rest of what we need! Ah well. Super grateful I'm even having a shower now, lol.

Yessss seriously... I thought I was just being redic. I'm due 11/21 and my MIL is hosting on 9/27. I've been stressing on the short time between our shower and DD. annnnnd nesting does NOT help one bit...
Due date is Nov 7, and I'm pushing both my showers which has me anxious and worried. First shower is Oct 3 at 35 weeks, and second is Oct 17 at 37 weeks. There are so many events in September that they just both worked out that way.
I'm due 11/26. My shower is 9/18. My SIL is throwing it for me. She asked if I wanted it in sept or oct and I requested late sept. #1 not gonna lie but I didn't get a shower for my son 8yrs ago for family drama reasons so now that this is my 2nd and last baby having a shower being thrown is super exciting to me. And I didn't want to wait forever for it lol #2 being that this is my second I wasn't sure if I was going to go into labor early or late, so I wanted it done fairly early in case I delivered early plus by 25 weeks I was so uncomfortable, I can't imagine partying at 35 weeks. #3 being due on thanksgiving, so close to the holidays I know people are busy and traveling and have so many things going on. So to accommodate people's schedules having it earlier was best. And lastly #4 I wanted a big enough gap to budget and purchase what isn't bought for me at the shower.
My work shower will be 9/19 and family/friends on 10/3. I'm due 11/1. We already have all of the essentials, but I'm looking forward to seeing everyone and maybe receiving some "finishing touches."

What kind of partying do you actually do at a baby shower?
OP, I'd say anytime in the 3rd Tri, but before 38 weeks. It's a baby shower, you're going to be eating and opening presents, not tarring a roof. Anything you still need can be ordered online or purchased in a few hours' shopping trip. NBD.
Due 11/8. My shower for DH's side of the family is 9/12, approximately 32 weeks pregnant, and my shower for my side of the family is 10/3, approximately 35 weeks pregnant.
Having to do anything other then resting... Just doesn't sound like the business to me. I know showers are supposed to be low key. But cleaning my house and preparing and having people at my house that late, I don't think I can do.

I thought you mentioned above that your SIL is throwing the shower. Why would you need to do anything ("preparing"?) at your house for it if you're not hosting? Are you co-hosting?
OP - I was thrown a surprise shower for DS at 35 weeks and was perfectly fine. Seriously... You're just eating, opening gifts and socializing with loved ones. The way some folks act you would think it's going to be a bachelorette, but it's not physically taxing. Will you be physically less comfortable than another time? Sure... You're pregnant, but it kind of comes with the territory. I just felt blessed to have a shower thrown for me and everyone was so generous and happy for me that I hardly noticed the third tri growing pains.
She is throwing it but I don't expect her to come to my house and clean before she decorates and throws a party. Plus I have family drama, my side vs the in laws side and it's stressing me out. Id rather get the stress over with early then put it off until later when I have more important things to worry about
Dd is 11/23, my mom, mil and sil are throwing it for us on October 3rd. Mostly because we have relatives coming in town for a wedding October 2nd. I personally don't think there is a too early or too late, it's whenever the host sets it up. If I had a choice in the matter I would say earlier rather than later so you have time to get everything settled in the nursery and you can figure out if there is anything you are missing.

Ditto ! Due 11/8 shower is at 37 weeks, so scary when my first came at 39 weeks .
Due 11/23 and having my showers on 9/12 and 9/19. They are a bit early, but I'm glad and those are the only dates everyone could work with. I'm ready to know what we will have vs. What we need to buy.
