15 weeks... bought a few things early on (some great deals and excitement)... lied to DH and hid them up in the attic where he doesn't go bc I have an aliance with the spiders...
Not saying it's right but everything I got was more than 50% off.... like a twice used jogger for £100 that retails for £270
A rugby playing scientist and educator who is looking to solve metabolic and age related diseases through research
I've bought a few onesies and my MIL has begun buying stuff too (first grandchild, extremely excited, shopaholic). I'm holding off on buying the bigger things though, in part because I don't have the room!
heh, same story here. I got my BFP right after we started renovating, so our home is a mess!!!! so grateful we'll be done in a few months so I can make room for baby! It's my mum's first grandchild too, so she's unearthing tons of baby stuff she had stored away from when she had me & my brothers. lol it feels a bit weird but perhaps there's a lot I won't need to buy.
I'm 12 weeks now and we will probably start stocking up on diapers soon. With DD we bought one box from Costco every 3 or 4 weeks starting around 16 weeks. When LO arrived we didn't need to buy diapers for like 5 months! It was nice to space that cost out over several months.
I bought a set of Aden + Anis bamboo swaddlers earlier this summer because they were on sale and gorgeous. DH didn't say anything but I'm not sure he was thrilled. I am waiting to start stocking up on stuff until we know the gender, although buying diapers when they're on sale and starting a stockpile is a good idea. Diapers aren't cheap!
No. I am patiently waiting for them to call me with me results as to if our baby is low risk and boy/girl. After that I will either go through all of my boys things and see what I am keeping or go in away. If girl then I will get rid of all strictly boys things and get to buy girly things for once

We started buying stuff at 10-11 weeks as well as my mom. Most of the stuff up until the last few days have been gender neutral and we are now starting to buy girl things since we have the results of our harmony test.
So far we have: -2 sets of receiving blankets in gray/white colors and a set that is yellow/lime green both sets have things like lambs, polka dots, stripes etc. -5 gender neutral pacifiers. -4-5 gender neutral outfits in brown, white, grey colors, a pink onsie with teal pants, 2 sets of little pink socks. 1 pair newborn gray shoes. -gender neutral bedding (quilt and sheets) -several cans/boxes of sample formula -a bottle cooler, ice pack and 4 bottles -1 package of pampers wipes And a few more items...
Not at all. Since I had a MMC in March discovered at 12wks, we will not be buying anything until I'm much further along. Honestly when my mom starts talking about baby showers my skin crawls.

Some stuff I've had for about six years now (past attempts) so we have a mini crib with mattress, a few onesies, socks, mittens, hats, jammies, a mini diaper bag with bottle, wipe holder, baby brush and comb, baby bouncer and a few blankets.
Now, I have a few more onesies, three more bottles, crib sheets, baby bath stuff, and yarn I am turning into a blanket.
Stuff other people have given me, that is a whole other story!
I bought a few big items really early on at a sale; play-yard, car seat, receiving blankets, swaddlers, and a few other things... I just recently purchased a swing/bouncer combination on clearance at Target and ordered a deeply clearanced dresser which I plan to also use as a changing table. DH and I have a registry started and know what crib we'd like and have picked out a lot of the other stuff we will need to get before baby arrives. I am hoping that there will be some great black Friday deals on baby stuff, any second time + mom's know about this?
I'm excited to start buying stuff because a. I love shopping and b. I love babies, BUT I need to find out the sex first. If it's another boy I really don't need to buy much, like @torpedogirl said, I will just need to go through all our boy stuff and get rid of some things I know we won't use. However, if its a girl, I'll be shopping like crazy, clothes, nursery, etc. Most of our larger items are gender neutral so I don't really have any large purchases to make. Except 2 new cars that can accommodate 4 kids in carseats...ugh!
I haven't purchased anything yet. My parents did buy me 6 huge boxes of diapers over the weekend to start the collection. Their efforts to cheer me up. I haven't been feeling well.
Yes. I bought a few outfits and sleepers (this weekend) because they were cute or on clearance. It really helped me feel positive about the pregnancy.. I'm keeping the tags and receipts because I just can't be too comfortable yet, but it makes it more real!
A couple onesies and kids books (Dragons Love Tacos!"). I also got this blue Rhino plush that doubles as a little seat. It's mostly just a big plushy with a flat spot on its back. I don't know why but I had to have him.
Really early on I found a pack n' play on sale for 50% off on Amazon. Other than that I haven't bought anything yet. Like OP trying to wait until around 20 weeks.

Lol I am about to buy to all the neccesatities like the baby thermometer and nails clippers and baby soap and save all the rest of the BIG fansy stuff like the bassinet changing table and clothes for last but.. I have a question for a newborn do you ladies think 2 pks of nb diapers is enough the box has 88 diapers in it so that would be 176 diapers just for nb stage.. is that enough??

No newborn is going to be the same. It may be enough, it may not. There will never be a stage in your child's life that you can plan the amount of anything that he/she will need.

To add on my end. If your baby is born over 8 lbs, you won't even need newborn diapers. Chances are they won't fit. I had the opposite problem. I bought newborn diapers first then my baby oops!- came out two months premature and I needed preemie diapers.
I did read somewhere that an average child goes through about 2500 diapers from birth to 2. That all depends on potty training, sickness, etc.
with my next paycheck I plan on starting to buy a box of diapers every paycheck just to get stocked a little.
February Siggy Challenge- Post pregnancy indulgences
We need nothing (2nd kid) but I couldn't resist a JCrew baby hoodie that was on sale. I've started keeping my eye out for stroller deals but will likely wait until much closer so I don't have to store it. If it's another girl I can't justify buying a single thing but if it's a boy I'll definitely start hitting up sales for clothes ASAP
@Lizzngabe one box of newborn diapers is probably sufficient to start with. My first two boys were 8 lbs and we used exactly one pack of newborn diapers then they were ready to move onto 1's. My 3rd baby was only 6lb13oz and lost a good bit in the first few days, with him we ended up using 2 boxes of newborn diapers, but didn't end up finishing the 2nd box before he outgrew them. It's better to start buying 1s and 2s, you can always grab an extra pack of newborn diapers if you need more.
Any cloth diaper moms here? I know buying them can save a lot over a few years, but it's a big expense up front, so I'd like to get started but have no idea where - size or type!

Here is an entire board dedicated to cloth diapering. You should check it out.
Edited to add link - duh!
Edited again, link doesn't seem to show, just do a search and you'll find it.
Just a couple gender neutral things that I found on face books sites. Like a halo sleep sack, looks brand new and was only 2$, a book bag diaper bag a girl bought (new with tags) for 10$
We had our 13 week scan on Friday, and everything looked great. So we went and bought our first pack of diapers and a onesie the other day it's so hard to buy clothes when you don't know the sex yet. I'm on the lookout for cheap baby furniture that we can refinish.
14 weeks pregnant... and I bought a personalized onsie. It's a 49ers onsie and added daddy's last name on the back. Probably going to use that to announce on FB. I don't know why I'm so excited to buy him sports stuff already lol.
A couple onesies and kids books (Dragons Love Tacos!"). I also got this blue Rhino plush that doubles as a little seat. It's mostly just a big plushy with a flat spot on its back. I don't know why but I had to have him.
I just picked up some pocket diapers over the weekend. I can't seem to find anything cute for a baby boy to wear.
I have 4 boys and this is a struggle We find some cute stuff at Old Navy, Target and Children's Place (although I only shop there when they have sales lol).

I bought 2 outfits on an online yard sale still with tags for $3! I have plenty of boy clothes but they were so cute I couldn't resist. I will start buying diapers every payday starting this week. Edited for spelling

We ordered the crib/changing table combo set a few weekends ago and just got it the other day! Other than that, we decided to hold off on buying most things until we find out the gender, however, my mom (this will be her first grandchild) has been going crazy buying boy and girl stuff just in case lol. In addition to the clothes, she's bought a few receiving blankets, a diaper genie and some diapers and wipes!
Lots of diapers thanks to Target sales, pack n play, pacifier clip (deal site), a Moby (also from a deal site). Waiting until we know sex before going too crazy - if boy, don't need much, if girl, hello shopping!

My daughter still needs to sleep in her crib, so I'm going to need a second one for the baby which I was hoping to avoid but c'est la vie. We cut it a little close with the furniture last time (ordered in January, delivered mid March, baby due early April) so I'll keep that in mind for this time. Probably get everything with a potential lead-time ordered before Thanksgiving. We also have the room sitting empty this time around, we put off getting the nursery together last time because we were using it as a den. Now that we've moved, the baby's room only has my daughter's old changing table in it and is all ready to set up.
All our baby stuff is gender neutral, so I'm not going to need anything but diapers and new bottles for a while.
We have most of the big items we need but I have started buying diapers. With DS I bought diapers and wipes every time I grocery shopped and I have been doing the same. It will be nice to have a stock pile while I am on maternity leave and once we add the cost of a second kid going to daycare. Yesterday I celebrated after my ultrasound and bought an auto rocking Rock N play at target and some other small gender neutral things. I plan to spread out the rest of the purchases over the next few months. We still need a new video monitor, pack n play, crib bedding and clothes if we have a girl.
