  • My baby doesn't....

Take long naps during the day. We call him the Cat Nap King.

Laugh yet. There have been a few attempts, but no clear laughing. (11 weeks)
  • My baby doesn't like being held much. She is socially smiling and attempting to laugh, but she doesn't like being held for more than a few minutes. She would rather lay on her mat and kick and bat at toys. Just over 12 weeks here.

  • My baby doesn't like tummy time, at all. In fact he screams so loud our neighbors probably think we are torturing him :(( the pediatrician told us we have to leave him on his tummy for at LEAST 5 minutes. Those 5 whole minutes seem like an eternity when he's sitting there screaming. But his neck isn't very strong, he won't even lift it when he's on his belly... Ugh it breaks my heart. 12+ weeks :(

  • My baby doesn't turn his head to the right. Well, he does, but not nearly as often as to the left. Our pediatrician said it's not something to worry about, but we're supposed to work on it, so now of course it worries me.
  • My baby also doesn't grasp her toys she knows her feet can kick things but doesn't know that she can hold things she 12+ weeks. The turning thing reminded me of zoolander. I've heard one giggle but that's it. She seems happy and healthy and maybe I just need to get her some cooler toys... hahaha.
  • My baby doesn't grasp for toys and despises tummy time. Sigh. (14.5 weeks)
  • My baby doesn't ...

    do baby push ups.
sleep through the night (we're back to 4 hour stretches, so not complaining...yet).
  • My baby doesn't grasp toys either. Thankful for this thread! Since he discovered them yesterday, my baby doesn't want to do much of anything but play with/watch his hands.
  • My baby (11 weeks today) doesn't reach for or grasp her toys either. She also doesn't do baby push ups or giggle yet.

@thay33 Mine used to HATE tummy time until I put her on her boppy for a few minutes at the beginning to elevate her upper half and force her to build her neck muscles. Now she's good on her tummy.
  • My baby doesn't laugh. He smiles a lot and breathes fast and hard and looks like he is trying to laugh, but he hasn't quite gotten it yet.

    My baby doesn't roll over.
    (14.5 weeks)

  • Not a my baby can't do this item, but more of a general baby worry. The back of my baby's head is flat, completely flat.

Did your pedi say anything. My neighbor's baby had to wear a helmet due to this. She wasn't doing tummy time. Not sure if that's an issue for you. Ours was turning more to the right and our pedi noticed a difference in the sides of his head. We have to try to him to look left.
  • We do daily tummy time, but he's been rolling over since 8 weeks, so he ends it on his own terms. Pedi says over time head will round itself out on its own.... I don't know, because I've seen other kids with helmets too.

  • Sounds like my LO, she's a champ at tummy time and I put her on her belly multiple times a day but the back of her head is still some what flat. The doctor mentioned she might need to wear a helmet if her head doesn't round itself out by her 4 month appointment. She's 12 weeks now @KonaCoffeeBean

My baby has a flatish side of her head towards the back that makes looking to the right easier/ more comfortable than left. Pedi said just make sure you keep changing her position in the crib. Unfortunately she's a great sleeper and moves herself around whenever I position her and goes back to that flat spot for about two 5 hour stretches at night. She does love to look in the mirror so we sit or do tummy time with the mirror to our left and she turns a ton to look at it, and loves it!

ETA: My baby doesn't .. have a round head...
  • At nine weeks, my baby doesn't sleep nearly enough or through the night. He doesn't seem to be interested in starting to do either, either.

  • My baby doesn't grab things ... At least not intentionally. Just bats at them.

My baby also doesn't roll over, mostly because she absolutely refuses to engage her arms when she's on her tummy.
  • My baby is 9 weeks and he rarely smiles. He also won't take a long nap. He wakes up after 30 minutes and then I have to soothe for about 30 minutes and then only maybe will he go back to sleep.
  • This is comforting. 12 weeks today still no sight of her grabbing her toys, she's just started discovering her hands.
  • My baby doesn't like the car seat. Unless she's sleepy she will cry the entire car ride.

  • At what age are they suppose to reach for things?
  • My baby doesn't sleep through the night. Not even close. She's 10 weeks, and still wakes up 2-3 times between 9-7. Every once in a while we get a single wake up, but then the next day she's back to her old ways. There's not even a schedule. Sometimes she's up at 12 and 4 am, others 2 and 6. I'm hoping moving her to her crib in the nursery will alleviate this.
  • @cait7425  Mine just started sleeping through the night this past week, at 14.5 weeks.  We've gotten 5 nights in a row of 9:30-6 or so.  At 10 weeks, we were also getting 2-3 wakeups as well.  There's still hope! :)

Has your LO found her thumb yet?  As soon as mine found his thumb and realized he could suck on it, that's when the STTN started.  He still wakes up once or twice, but finds his thumb and soothes himself back to sleep.  I never wanted a thumb sucker, but it helps him self-soothe so much that now I'm loving it LOL.
DD can find her fist, not her thumb. But we swaddle her at night. It seems to help keep her from startling herself awake. Maybe we'll start to let her arms out again. Thanks for the suggestion!
  • my almost 9 week old LO doesnt take proper naps in the day time. he will either fall asleep while nursing or while burping the wakes up when i go to move him. and of course when he wakes up he is hungry so he just wants to nurse. thus repeating the cycle.
  • My baby doesn't like my right boob.

He also doesn't sleep through the night or grab for toys.

  • My baby doesn't have full head control at 12 weeks... He does have a giant head though (99%)

  • Jesus that's my baby too! He is also 11weeks
  • My baby doesn't roll over and thank god! Because I leave her on the couch and the bed all the time! I'm actually really scared of the day she figured it out... also is weird about naps.. she's 14 weeks old
  • My baby doesn't do a lot of things: roll over, despises tummy time (still), etc. he has pretty good head control but probably not as good as he should. I'm panicked about his 4 month checkup that is quickly approaching. He is tiny so maybe that's why he's a little behind? Any advice?? I'm a freaked out FTM about milestones...
  • @teather5 I can see his huge social smile and bright eyes even in your tiny signature photo. He's fine! I feel like the physical milestones come at all different times. These babies are so young yet and some will need more time. True physical delays are very very rare, certainly not something to stess over at this young age unless you see something alarming. It would have to be much more than hating tummy time. If he's smiling at you and engaging with you that's great and I would focus on that. The physical stuff will come.

My LO is HUGE, not sure on height/weight but solidly into 12 month clothing. He is also behind on some physical milestones. I do want to talk with Pedi about it at his 4 month but I suspect she'll say he's still on track. If not, we'll get him some help but I just keep reminding myself that worrying isn't productive. I am doing some baby yoga and massage with him because he seemed to have limited neck mobility. That's better but I've tried to keep at it because he likes it. Though frankly I am so busy it slips my mind a lot. Which compounds the mom guilt . . .

  • My baby is 16 weeks and doesn't...

    Roll over

Do tummy time. At all. Won't tolerate it.

I don't know what to do about tummy time. I feel like I've tried everything and she just screams and screams.
