April 2016 Moms

Houston, we have a heartbeat!

Hi everyone! Just had my first ultrasound and was so excited that I thought I'd share on here since we aren't telling people yet. The tech couldn't tell me much but my due date moved from April 6 to 9 (ughhhh). Is that normal? We got to see the little heartbeat which filled me with so much joy and relief. Here's our little blob!

  • Mine has moved from the 12th to the 6th to the 8th. And I bet baby comes some other day. Congrats!

Thank you! I figured the date change was pretty minor and nothing to worry about.
  • Congrats and welcome.

  • Congrats, exciting to see the HB!  That's interesting, usually you don't hear of an OB changing the due date unless it's different by a week or more.
  • Yayyy congrats!!!

Based off of my lmp, I would be 7w6d but I'm measuring at 7w3d. However, they kept me at the 7w6d EDD of April 12th. They said as long as it is within a few days, they won't change it. It sounds like your office just changed that date maybe because of how your baby is measuring, which I think is pretty normal. Especially at such an early stage, so many babies are growing at different rates and OB offices measure things differently. But you saw that all-important heartbeat which is such a huge sigh of relief!!

I saw my babe's last week and I know I sure am relieved (somewhat because I don't think the worry ever goes away). Enjoy this exciting milestone!!
  • My LMP had my EDD as April 1, but I knew when I ovulated, so I was not at all surprised when they moved it to April 4. It is very normal.
  • Sooo jealous. I have to wait until the 28th to see the heartbeat and baby.

It's normal to have the due date move. With DD her date was 4/6 and then got moved to 4/8. It stayed consistent after that.

  • @kaitlyn592 @jules08 thank you!!! I haven't actually seen my doctor as it was an ultrasound tech who just told me the new dates based on the tests she did. I'll see if my doc actually moves the date. Either way, I'm just so relieved. I know what you mean about it never going away but at least I know we've made it this far and hopefully things keep going well!
