@tennisbabymama That sucks. Car repairs and the worst. Inconvenient and expensive at the same time. Hopefully, it's nothing and just related to the recent repair.
Yeah, I'm with you on the first point. Just skip over those posts. Who cares? Nothing on this board is earth-shattering or requires immediate attention. Who cares if the board has multiple posts about the same thing?
@sarahufl I totally agree with you. If you read the heading and see it's a repeat, just skip over it. You're not obligated to read every post, and not every post needs a smart remark. #ijs
@sarahufl I'm one of the people that will say when something has been discussed. It's not to be snarky it's so that people can find answers to their question. If everyone who sees the repeat just skips it then the person who asked never gets their answer. I'd rather someone tell me where to find the answer to my question than just have everyone skip it or miss out on possible discussion if even half of people ignore my post.

Just my two cents.
To some extent, I think it's fine. Sometimes, I see responses that just seem unnecessary. Frankly, nobody gets bullied or anything like lots of people claim, but I do think some folks could stand to just.....not read a post....
What's up with a lot of the snarky comments lately? Seems like every post I look up has a "we've discussed this before, we dont do that here, click on the search bar, etc" comments. Maybe these ladies are new to the group? Idk...they may not know where to look, but saying it in a nicer tone may help.
SN: I am tire of this all day sickness. I'm hoping that I don't throw up at work for at least another 3 weeks when I plan on telling them. I was trying to get to 12 weeks, but seeing that this is my second child, I may not be able to hold it off that long. The MAIN reason I don't want to tell them is because I work with a lot of older women, who LOVE to rub bellies...and I for one, don't like my belly to be rubbed! LOL. Nothing against them, I know it's cultural. I just for one, am not for it.
To your first point, I get that. However, even when you try to play nice and give legit responses in said nice tone you still get posters who get defensive and butt hurt because they didn't hear what they wanted.
All day sickness sucks! Belly rubbing is not okay!
Freaking out a little because this is my 3rd- as if that isn't scary enough (yes I planned this so I don't know why I'm freaking out now), but I have no symptoms other than a 3 month along belly when I'm only 6 weeks. My other two were the same pregnancies- literally from how I could tell to how I felt from the start to the finish, and now this one is so different it's scaring me... plus I lost a lot of weight after my second and for the first time in my life, felt great about myself and was really healthy weight-wise and was conscious of what I was eating and now all of that is out the window- scared to death of putting on too much weight and feeling horrible about myself, my husband is so thrilled about everything and so happy, I don't want to talk to him about it and have him thinking about things too... wow this ended up being more of a vent than I wanted it to, but like I said... I'm freaking out (about everything apparently)!

I totally get your point on answering a question and people still having their feelings hurt; just today I opened up a few posts I might've been interested in reading and the first comments were just like WHOA....ok, let me turn around because I wasn't expecting that! LOL. I remember a few weeks ago I wrote about a Tuesday Ticker change, and was redirected in a nice way to look in the search boxes, but it just seems as the days go by, it's become a little more harsh. For the most part, I think April Month is rounded out already since we will be in September tomorrow, and hopefully everyone has now gotten the hang of it. I just don't see the necessity to always correct someone on sex vs. gender, and calling their child a blob if they ask a question about guesses (or if they're a troll! LOL). Thanks for replying though, and trust me, I get where you come from. I just think that maybe there should be moderators that take care of that instead of jumping on the bandwagon.
Yes, all day sickness sucks. Today has been a good day though, so I wont complain...for now! And...belly rubbing is NOT ok to me from strangers. You weren't rubbing my belly before...if you want to rub it now, just ask!
Ugh how upsetting. I'm sure karma will be back around for the turd that hit and ran.
On a related note, people can't drive for $hit. I was T-boned by some 15 year old driver at the beginning of the summer, and my car was totaled (the girl made an illegal U turn and slammed into me). Thank God my DS wasn't in the car, because I think I would have ripped the girl a new one. Since then I've had like 3 near accidents in the last few weeks. Is it just because people are distracted in the summer? Not looking forward to the winter though. They're predicting an average season where I live at least.
Ugh the hunger struggle is SO real. And also the no working out! My Dr. said light exercise is fine, but I miscarried in April and I am just so paranoid to do anything. I finally got the nerve to go to the gym and got on the elliptical for 30 minutes this weekend. It felt great at the time but I was so nervous all night thinking every little twinge or gas cramp was a sign on m/c. UGH. I'm used to working out 4-5 days a week so this has rough.
And maybe this will sound bad but I miss wine!!!! Oh well. It's ALL worth it.
Anyone go to the chiropractor while pregnant? I started going this spring because my SI joint was KILLING me when I was training for my half marathon. After x-rays, I found out I have two curves in my back and one hip is higher than the other. I had adjustments once or twice a week for two months and my back felt amazing.
Now it's starting to kill me again - running, walking, sitting, sleeping - always in pain. I assume it's because everything is getting relaxed again, but I'm not sure what to expect during a prenatal adjustment (I certainly won't be able to twist my torso the same way for the adjustment) and I don't know if it'll work... anyone have any experience?
I should not be awake right now. I have to wake up in two and a half hours and I have spent the last hour and a half trying to ignore my nausea/headache and fall back asleep.
I feel like a zombie. I am so sleepy. Working two jobs while pg is for the birds. I had planned to quit the second job (part-time retail manager) after the holidays but I don't think I can make it through the xmas season.
How's this for random, and vague: I want to tell you all a ridiculously cool fun fact about my OB, but then creepy internet stalkers would be able to google and figure out who I see.
@KDHB13 I was in a car accident while pregnant with my fourth, and started seeing a chiro twice weekly. It's different, for sure, but immensely helpful. I had almost no sciatica with that pregnancy, and I always have sciatica. Also, my slightly crooked spine straightened because of all the relaxin, and I grew an inch, which I have kept. Yay!
@mojomama6 That's awesome! DS was a csection and at my first appt we had been talking about RCS vs. VBAC. When she did the pelvic exam, the midwife mentioned that my pelvic opening probably would have accomodated DS (he as 9lb 9oz with a head in the 100th percentile), but my cervix or birth canal or something was tilted to the left, which is why he couldn't fit - he was tilted too. When I started at the chiro in March and they did xrays, it turns out that I have two curves in my spine and one hip is higher than the other, so now I'm wondering if that caused my bits to til to the left and if a chiro would fix that. So many thoughts... lol
@KDBH13 I see one twice a week - they are aware that I'm KU. More of the adjustments are with me on my back/side instead of on my stomach now, otherwise no real difference.
That would be so interesting if a chiro could help with the tilting! When I first started, my right hip was about an inch higher, and it is now even with the left.
Ugh. I feel so pathetic, I just psyched myself into working out for 40 minutes for the first time in a week and a half. I literally had to talk out loud to try and motivate my lazy tired nauseated butt. Now time to eat lots of pasta and undo it all haha.
For you veggie lovers out there you should check out this minestrone recipe. Pre-pregnancy I loved veggies, but now they aren't settling well. I'm now able to stomach them with this soup.
I see a lot of 100+ weeks pregnancy tickers. Can't decide if people accidentally put 2015 as their date instead of 2016 (something I've been catching myself at) or if they just haven't changed the ticker from their last kiddo.
I can't even go to Facebook anymore because of the footage and photos of the Syrian boy. It's heartbreaking and I really wish people would stop sharing it and saying "graphic footage enclosed" when they've already shown the bloody footage. OK.

I think I'm likely guilty of this... I only ever logged into the bump from a computer once, and it was to figure out what a "ticker" was ☺️ I made one, then never went back to update it

It is heartbreaking but that's kind of the point. I think censoring something like this would not do this poor baby justice. This is a real issue that needs real coverage imo. Hiding it would be sweeping it under the rug.
Rant: annoyed with my mother in law who keeps telling me the things I need to do...I don't mind the advice, but not when she assumes I am doing everything wrong. -.-

I would never suggest sweeping it under the rug. It's a tragedy and I'm relieved that the tragedy has brought the atrocities into the public eye. What I'm complaining about is being a pregnant, emotional mother who has lost two babies and having to watch actual video footage of a dead child washing up on a beach every 15 minutes. It's not OK. I'm also stating that the entire point of the "graphic footage" warning is to display that instead of the actual footage, thereby providing people with the opportunity to choose to see it or not. I've seen it. Dozens of times now. Seeing it again (and again and again) isn't making me any more aware of the problem.
Why is it that the weeks where you have an extra day off seem like the longest in comparison to normal weeks?? WHAT?! This week is already dragging and its only Tuesday. Is it food-o-clock yet?
My work calendar is intense today! I have a one hour break this morning and that's only because I'm skipping the meeting. Otherwise I'd be in back to backs until 5:00. Who the hell scheduled all these meetings for the day after a long weekend?? ~X(
DH and I went to his grandparent's house to do some clean out as Grandma recently entered a nursing home. His grandfather passed away over 3 years ago when I was PG with DD (7 months pregnant at a funeral shouldn't be legal I never knew I could cry so much). DH is going through paper work and finds this giant Hannah Montana card, opens it, and it's got his grandfather singing Happy Birthday to my Sweetheart... lost it. Instant mess. Couldn't stop, it was so sweet and honestly how often do you get to hear the voice of someone who's passed? Ughhhhhh. Thanks hormones!

How absolutely wonderful and so hard to deal with!!
I'm so freaking excited...I just found out root beer is caffeine free. I wanted a root beer so bad today but I had already had my personal max of caffeine
I just had to back out of being in my friends wedding party. I felt so bad but the baby is due April 18th and her wedding is April 30th. I'll probably end up with a repeat c section and just thought it would be too long of a day with recovering from a c section plus a newborn. (And dripping milk haha)

Depends on the brand. A&W is caffeine free, Barqs is not. Most is caffeine free though. I like fancy rootbeers sometimes .
I made that mistake with Cream Soda before - I had been buying a caffeine free brand and had the thought in my head that it was caffeine free. Then one day I bought a different brand. Once I had one of those, I was like, wow I feel good! Then I figured out why...
