Pediatrician is set, and I still have car seat/stroller/crib plus I have a ton of clothes and blankets. (they do need to be washed)
I would like to do a tour of the hospital, since this is our first delivery at new hospital. Other than that... I am ready to have this baby...... in 5 months.
Everything. No lie. We haven't talked names. We haven't looked at one baby item.
We are in the process of trying to buy a home and so focused on that for the time being we don't have time to worry about baby furniture bc we have no idea where it's going yet.
In the upcoming weeks we will have to get our butts in gear but we aren't there yet.
We are looking at daycares now, once we line that up I will move on to finding a pediatrician. We are moving rooms around and painting the nursery in October. My shower will be November 14 so I will probably register next month and then wait until after the shower to buy what's still needed. But before all that I need to make some space for maternity clothes in my closet!!!
- carpets ripped out and replaced - find a way to cram 3 car seats into my car (fun). - actually buy mentioned car seats - buy a new crib/set it up - wash baby clothes/put away - prep cloth diapers - prepare birth kit/order pool - break in new wraps - mentally prepare for birth
I'm 21 weeks today and feel like there is still so much left to do! I am hoping my baby shower in October helps to check a lot of those things off of my list.
- Find Pediatrician -Baby bedding -Attend breastfeeding class, infant safety class, and baby care class. All registered for though - On two daycare waiting list and need to apply to more -Get nursery artwork and paint it - diapers and wipes galore!! - glider - pack n play for when the baby sleeps in our room - baby monitor.
I could go on and on!! Again, hoping my shower allows me to check off things like bottles, pacifiers, more clothing, diapers, wipes, and all other baby necessities we will need! At least it will get us caught up a bit!
Everything left except pre-registration . Have a couple outfits some books and that's it. Most were happy being pregnant gifts. Figure after I pay the 2500.00 deductible off by the 28th week and have the two baby showers that week we will start in full swing on our buying items:) lots of window shopping done though
Still have a lot to do! Currently the nursery is a disaster that I plan to tackle this weekend. My mom found some really great consignment sales here in Georgia and I was able to stock up on all the expensive stuff for a fraction of the cost, two car seat, stroller, swing. Also bought a bunch of clothes in really good condition. If any of you live in Georgia there is another one in a few weeks called tots, tykes, and teens at the horse park in conyers.A friend from work is pregnant with a boy and this will be her last so she has given me bags and bags I little girl clothes. I think I am set on clothes until 24 months! That bring said it is all piled in mounds in the nursery! One step at a time
I'm waiting until after my shower to buy most things since I'm not sure what we will get. My grandma offered to buy the nursery set so we have a crib, dresser and change table we need to set up, still need to paint the nursery as well. But I've registered for Lamaze class in November which made me feel somewhat accomplished. We're getting married in 2 weeks so once the wedding is done I can focus all my energy on planning for baby!
Uh... pretty much everything? We haven't done anything except clear out the nursery and what will be the play room. Play room still needs new paint and carpet (and furniture), nursery needs furniture, and the babies need everything still!
Honestly, we keep putting things off because this is our first pregnancy and we're terrified. First we were waiting for the anatomy scan to find out if they're b/g, g/g, or b/b... then they found something scary and so we were waiting to meet with a genetic counsellor, now we're waiting for amnio results. It seems kind of morbid but we're very realistic people so to us it just feels like being cautious.
My mom is in the midst of planning my shower and I'm stalling with that too. In the same conversation I was telling her about the amnio, she told me she booked the shower venue and wants me to choose an invitation design. Not my biggest concern right now, Mom!!
EVERYTHING! I have bought paint for the nursery, but that's all I have done. I've bought a few outfits that were on sale for next summer. Luckily I have a lot of what I need, but I still have so much to sort out! I'm feeling overwhelmed, but I'm sure I will get it all done before she comes.
At 21 weeks I am in the same boat as most of you! My main focus is getting our floors redone and several rooms painted. As a FTM I'm panicing bc we have had all the materials since july and it is SLOWLY getting finished. Some floors are tore up and everything is just a mess. My BD is very handy and doing it all but he is taking his sweet time! It is frustrating for me bc I cant do any of it! So, I'm trying to focus on the things I have control over! I have pre-registered and signed up for several classes. I think I have my baby registries done but still need to make a final decision on crib/dresser and car seat system. Have contacted a few daycares and hope to decide on a pediatrician this week. I'm having 3 different showers (3 weekends in a row I might add!) so I'm not buying a ton of stuff until after Thanksgiving.
I have her crib & changing table . I have a carseat for my car (dad will be getting his own for her). We have a ton of clothes, blankets and other little things like pacifiers, a few bottles, and brushes, rattles, diaper cream and the like. I still need a baby bath, a carseat for dad and lots of diapers and wipes. I've picked out a pediatrician, but I have yet to interview with him. I have, however arranged childcare for our little princess I think we've done well preparing, for first time parents, that is.
I'm 21w today and still trying to wrap my head around the fact that I'm pregnant again. New baby will be sharing a room with my son (they will only be 12-13 months apart) for a while. Sharing a room means there's minimal decorating, just a lot of rearranging. I suppose I need to clean and buy another crib. I need to buy a bunch of little things; more towels, blankets, clothes... but otherwise, we are going to make do with my son's things (bath tub, car seat/stroller, etc.)
So much to do! Everything got pushed back due to some house issues but now we should be able to get started. Paint the nursery, decorate, wash bedding and some clothes I've gotten and figure out how to move my old dresser from my dads house. We haven't even registered yet and my first shower is mid October. I make my own laundry detergent so I need to make more of ours then make baby detergent. Luckily, my husband is an amazing cook so I don't have to worry about microwave meals
Buy big sis a big girl bed so the baby can have the crib. Buy diapers, wipes, sheets, a swing and what ever else I've forgotten. Finish putting in our kitchen, it's almost done thank goodness. It doesn't sound like much, but I feel like I have so much to do. My daughters birthday is next week I have her party, then my parents birthdays are next month, then halloween, thanksgiving, and Christmas. Plus a beach vacation next month. I feel like I have no time to get anything finished.
We were on vacation this past week. We took a couple of days to go to Pennsylvania (we live in IN) for an Indy Car race - guess that was out Babymoon, ha ha. Made the hubs spend the rest of the week on his honey - do list! We cleaned out the nursery, painted & assembled furniture (still need a chair). I washed THREE loads of baby clothes/blankets (my Mom clearly doesn't believe in waiting for the shower) and put them away. Registry is done. Starting buying some diapers (Target was offering gift cards with purchase!) Baby Irie will use my regular family doctor once he/she arrives. I'm quitting my job at year end so no day care needed. Signed up for a breastfeeding class in Nov. Trying to do as much as possible now (20w, 3 d) while I'm feeling pretty good and have some energy.
Still need to decorate the nursery, buy whatever we don't get from the showers (they are in Oct & Nov), pack the hospital bag.
Oh my gosh I am a FTM and we still have to do everything, I haven't even made a list yet! Better get going, yikes! I have 3 dogs and they take up so much time and add a lot of extra cleaning to my daily routine. I wish I could wave a magic wand and this was a Disney movie where they helped me set up the nursery.
Honestly not much. DS will be sharing a room with baby once he transitions. The first couple of months he will sleep in the pack-n-play. Clothes, diapers, wipes, breast pump and accessories, tummy time mat and that's really it in terms of stuff. I will order some name blocks to match the boys sides of the room.
I will make two weeks of freezer meals in January, get some more saved for my unpaid leave time, insurance stuff, and of course obsessively purge the junk again. Really not too bad.
I have a list on the fridge of things I need for baby still, I copied off Angie's list. So far we have a small amount of clothes, mostly from target lol. We just received the stroller/car seat combo, we have our crib set up, just need a crib mattress. We cleaned and organiZed the nursery. We need to finish painting the changing table, and we need some more little things like crib sheets, and changing pad covers. But I'm waiting until after my shower to buy anything else. Like diapers and pacifiers. I'll check off one thing from the list as I get it. It sucks getting ready so early (22 weeks) because then you have to look at everything and just be anxious for baby's arrival lol
We have literally done nothing yet. When we moved to this house we painted the room a neutral colour knowing it would be a nursery. We have slowly cleaned out the closer and the dresser in the nursery but thats all.. Havent bought a crib or anything. More so we are waiting to see if its a boy or girl. But we really havent done much
For all the people saying, "everything", you are all going to be just fine! People stress out far too much. It will all come together- you still have south time. This is not our first, and just remember a lot of things will be provided by friends and family at the shower.

Oh, I said I have everything left, but I am NOT AT ALL stressed about it! I have 4 months, I've never done anything in my life 4 months in advance, other than plan my wedding, which was only because it was necessary to book vendors that far in advance. Otherwise, I'm the kind of person who writes a 30 page thesis paper the night before it's due (and slayyssss it), so I am a-okay continuing to do not much of anything until after my shower (which isn't until Dec 20th). I finish my grad program Dec 18th, a full month and a half before she's due (and babies in my family tend to be a week or two late too), I fully plan on doing 90% of what I need to do within that final month

FTM, am I missing anything?! Eek!!
