Hello all- This is my official introduction. Up until now I've just been reading everybody's stuff but now that I've had some complications and have had minimal luck finding info I thought I'd post my information hopefully to help others & offer support. Possibly meet some people who have gone through this as well. I'm hoping for a good outcome so that I can report this when my pregnancy is finished. Here's my background I'm 35 years old, I currently have a 17 year daughter who was delivered at 36 weeks due to premature rupture of the membranes. She did well, no problems other than jaundice. She weighed 4 lbs 11 oz and only stayed one extra day in the hospital. They never found out why my membranes ruptures early. In 2013 I delivered a heathy little boy full term, no complications. I was monitored during that pregnancy for complications because of my premature delivery in 1998. Fast forward to this past March 2015 I had a routine ultrasound at 17 weeks + 4 days (suppose to be my 3rd baby) and it was found that the baby's heart had stopped (worst experience EVER). I delivered my little guy the next day in the hospital via an elective induction. There was nothing wrong visually with my baby and the pathology report ect came back normal. I decided I wanted to get prego ASAP and luckily ended up prego April 2015 (I'm 14 weeks today). During my 7 week ultrasound with this new pregnancy they found a subchorionic bleed which was small and went away at 11 weeks. Phewwww I was able to breath after that somewhat but than got a call after my nuchal translucency and blood test that they found a POSSIBLE Circumvallate placenta but that everything else looks great. UGH!!!! This is horrible, I'm so anxious. My perinatal specialist didn't even feel this was important to report this to me. My regular OB called and told me about it a few days later. The perinatal specialist said its not a big deal and she's seen tons of people with this but after reading up on it Im still scared. I mean what else can go wrong?!?! Now I'm at risk for a low birth weight baby, placenta abruption and premature labor and a C section. Ugh well anyways I have my anatomy scan Aug 25th and I'm hoping to report that everything is ok and either corrected itself or it was an incorrect diagnoses. Has anyone else had these sort of problems?
Re: Circumvallate placenta/Subchorionic bleed/missed miscarraige
I go back to mfm every 4 weeks to monitor her growth. I'm trying not to worry, but all of the information out there about iugr and placental abruptions are really scary.
My mom shared this website with me. It has a lot of positive outcome stories! https://community.babycenter.com/post/a27904317/circumvallate_placenta?cpg=1
Overall my appointment went well. We are having a little boy!

I was put on (vaginal) progesterone because my cervix started shortening. I know that they put some women on it in the first trimester to support their pregnancies until their placenta kicks in, though. I found really helpful info about progesterone (and the different methods of administration) on March of Dimes' website.
I was on pelvic rest, too. All of this stuff is an inconvenience, but I'd rather be safe than sorry now.
Saw the perinatal specialist yesterday for another measurement of my cervix and it is now at 2.9, no funneling and cervix is closed.
I also saw my OB and she said she's not too concerned. She said we will do another measurement in 4 weeks and check on how the baby is growing at that time as well. She said in the mean time, no restrictions but don't overdo it.
Overall great news for me and my little boy. I might just get my rainbow baby after all. I'm starting to feel hopeful and excited.
I had another Dr appointment to day to check my cervix and to measure babe. Cervix is now measuring 3.5 and baby is right on track for growth at 1 lb 5 oz. Thank God!!! I won't be getting my cervix measured again and I will get one more ultrasound to check baby's growth at 32 weeks.
