so I've been told to avoid too many carbs like pasta and bread and potato etc. yet as I told my obgyn that's all I can keep down with the sickness!!!
Anyone found any different foods to help with the sickness that are not carbs?
I can get away with melon and bananas some mornings but God knows what else haha
My main addiction is mash potato and gravy!!
What foods are you all eating to help?
Re: What to eat....
There are lots of healthy alternatives to refined white pasta. Some ideas: brown rice, whole wheat pasta, quinoa, quinoa pasta, whole wheat or sprouted grain bread, oats. Have you ever tried purple potatoes? They are full of nutrients. Sweet potatoes also as PPs have mentioned. If you're struggling as much as you say you are with food, I'd be more concerned with your protein intake. Are you getting 75g+ per day?
Mashed potatoes usually have a ton of added fat. Could you try a baked potato with plain Greek yogurt (instead of sour cream) and other toppings? Good luck, hope you feel better!
Above all, eat what you can keep down and as pp mentioned, make sure you're getting enough protein.
Good luck!
I am a little concerned with the protein yes as ever since I've been pregnant right from the start all meats have been a trigger to me, seeing or smelling meat is unbearable to me.
But I have been eating a little spinach to try and help this.
