So, I'm not sure if anyone else has this situation. No one is offering to host my baby shower. Everyone (moms, SIL) just keep saying they'll help me. So basically I feel like I'm throwing myself a shower, which feels weird. I thought that throwing the "hey, let's pick a date" conversation out there might spark someone to volunteer, but nothing. What do I do?! Just plan it?
I totally sound like a brat now that I'm rereading this. Bottom line, I'm concerned about looking selfish planning it myself. It looks better when it's hosted by someone else imo. Haha Any thoughts?
If your mom and SIL keep bringing up "helping" you, I would just tactfully let them know that you aren't planning to throw your own shower because you feel that it is poor etiquette.

I am due January 21, 2016 and my first baby shower is on October 10th because it is being thrown by my husband's out-of-state family. The second will most likely be mid November. That way it is before Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. It's up to you, have it when you want.
I'm due January 11 and having our baby shower on October 17th. I know it is a little early, but I wanted more of a baby party than a shower, so we are doing an outside thing with bonfire and games and I didn't want it to be too cold.
