Can't Keep Prenatal Down

Sorry if this has already been mentioned but I couldn't find it.

I've been feeling nauseous all the time but only getting sick once a day and it's about 30 minutes after taking my prenatal every time. I've tried taking it different times of day, with food, without food etc. Nothing has worked :(

Has anyone else had this problem?

Re: Can't Keep Prenatal Down

  • The only prenatals that don't make me nauseous are the gummy kind.

  • I was just going to suggest vita fusion gummies. They don't have iron in them, but they are better than nothing! Also, you can try taking them before bed to cut down on the nausea.
  • I take mine with dinner when Im able to eat more. I also second asking your OB about a gummy vitamin you can take.

  • I take the gummy ones and I never feel sick. I second them!
  • Thanks everyone. I'll go get some gummies tomorrow :)
  • You can also try cutting your prenatal in half.  I take half with lunch and half with dinner - and that helps.  If it's a really bad nausea day then I gummies, but if it's not too bad, then I'll take the prenatal in halves.
  • Target prenatal's gummies are great for that! They never make me feel sick and taste good too.
  • I second the Target brand.  Everything else has made me feel sick.  I also made the mistake of taking my prenatals on an empty stomach first thing.  I seriously think that makes the ms worse.  I now take them right before bed with a full glass of water and a couple crackers.

Try the rainbow light ones. They have gummy and regular but include things for upset tummy and even constipation.

  • Yep! The only ones I have been able to take during pregnancy are the vita fusion or the RAW prenatal!
  • Thanks everyone! I took a gummy today and didn't get sick at all :)
  • Take them before bed. I take rainbow light but even those sometimes upset my stomach. I tried some sample ones fertility doc could have prescribed me if I wanted & those were really easy on stomach.
  • The prenatal gummies don't have iron in them and that's why they don't make people sick. LONG before I got pregnant I could never take multi vitamins because they always made me throw up. My doctor said it's the Iron. If your iron levels are ok then your body doesn't know how to handle the sudden intake of so much. Therefore puking lol
