There are certainly a lot of negative comments on this thread! I think it is a great idea tho and Halloween is my favorite! There is a concern or risk of people having their own plans and not coming but if it is during the day I don't see it being a major problem, just have people RSVP! Honestly I think it sounds fun. It's different from a traditional shower, and I like that. Hope it all works out!!
I love Halloween and say if you want a Halloween themed shower, go for it. I wouldn't do a combination shower/kids party though. Have it be over by 2 and then if you wanted to do a Halloween party, you could do one later in the day. That way there aren't kids running around bored.
I love the idea of a halloween themed shower (I got married on Halloween) I do think the biggest problem you would run in to is doing it during the day ON Halloween.... it is on a Friday this year which means most people will be working during the day and then taking their kids out trick-or-treating. I do not see too many people tsking a day off to attend a baby shower.
Some women don;t want to bring their children to a baby shower. I have never taken mine to any of them. I like the idea of getting together with just the girls to celebrate the mother. Also, if I got an invitation for a 5 hour shower, I would decline and never associate with that person again. That's just cruel.
