I think I've got a uti and when baby presses or kicks a certain spot it stings and my pees really dark, should I go doctors today or wait till tomorrow and ring my midwife
I would make sure to drink lots of fluids to help clear out our system, cranberry juice def can help but make sure it's not one loaded with extra sugar. I would also give a call this morning to check in, you don't want an infection going too long.
Get antibiotics! Uti's can cause premature labor. I've had 3 (I'm a teacher And a swim coach... I had no chance) so I'm on long term antibiotics until baby is born. It's not worth the risk! The longer you put off meds the worse it will get and you don't want the infection moving into your kidneys!!!
Keep drinking lots of water. Avoid sugary drinks, the bacteria like the sugar. Lemon water is also good, the bacteria don't like the acidity. If you're going the cranberry juice route, be sure to get the 100% kind. It should taste sour and pucker your lips. You can always dilute it with water if it's too gross.
Yea, it can... low/no sugar Cranberry juice can benefit and help with pain. The other thing you can do, as a preventative is to buy ellura. Its an all natural (recommended by my OB) cranberry supplement. I've been taking it for 3 months now and it is better for you than any cranberry juice on the market. It is a bit expensive though. It has been SOOO worth it! I highly recommend if you are prone to UTI's like I am.

Good Luck!
how long does it take for it not being treated to cause preterm labour? the doctor said by day 2 on antibiotics I should be feeling better but I don't feel any different
I had kidney stones just a few short weeks ago but originally the doctor thought it was a UTI turned kidney infection. They told me that pregnant women get UTIs more easily and it can transform into something more serious much quicker. I'd call but that's me. They are doctors and that's what they are here for. If you still aren't feeling any better I'd call back and make sure it didn't turn into something else.
