Can't decide on any boy names. Suggestions?!

in February 2016 Moms
we are set on our girl name but are really struggling with coming up with a boy name. We have a middle name picked which is turner (family name) we've contemplated using it as a first name but not sure we love it. We don't go for the super popular names but nothing crazy either. A few on our list (again, I don't really love any) are: Porter, Knox, Granger, Derek. Our dd is named Ellie, if that helps.

    You should try posting on the baby names board! I posted over there, they were really nice, plus it's a whole board dedicated to exactly what you need!

    ETA the huge baby names post has also been bumped up to the front page. I also suggest looking through past BMB's baby announcements, you may find some names you like there.

    Honestly, I'd take a break from names. Take a month, and come back with a fresh take. You've got plenty of time to obsess over names.

    Have you tried Nymbler? You input names you like and it comes up with similar stuff for you. It's pretty cool!

    I first thought that Nymbler was your name suggestion.  I'm SO glad it is not.

    My DS's name is, Jonah. :) I also like Henry, Avery, Holden, and Liam.

    My sons name is Porter so I am partial to it. But I'm not sure it sounds good with turner. I would also take a break and look at names again in a few weeks. You might notice some names you passed on before.

    I'm a fan of occupational names; hunter, cooper, thatcher, carter, tanner.

    I haven't posted on the Baby Names board, but think they are a little intense! Anyone else? It's fun to follow though. There are definite regulars there that all have fairly strong opinions. They won't hesitate to tell you that your choices are awful and start over! (Not saying yours are OP, just wanted to warn you). They tend to all like very classic but less used names. Made up names, trendy names, stupid creative spellings- they rip those to pieces!

    @thoughtfulmommy - I'm not sure why, but I can't stand occupational names or most names that end in "-er". It's hard to comment nicely on other people's choices, since everyone's opinions/style can be so different.

    @dtaded13 I immediately hated Porter and Granger because of the -er/occupational thing. Granger seems especially bad to me.

    Knox isn't my thing either. Derek isn't awful. That could grow on me.

    @ss456 I was definitely scared of that, and you're totally right! I think for the most part they're fine helping with name ideas. Also, when I posted, I explained to them my very strong feelings about the name I chose, that I wouldn't be changing it, and that I honestly just wanted some opinions for what other people (in the outside world) would feel about her name.

    I definitely could wait a while, but I'm odd in that once we know the sex I want to be able to call them by their name. ;) thanks for the ideas everyone! Off to show dh
