Please freakin sleep

is anyone else up with LO hanging off a boob right now? We've been up for almost two hours now (fed her both sides, changed a diaper, now feeding on the left) but I'm exhausted! I find myself nodding off when feeding her when the pain isn't too bad. Anyone else in the same boat? Of what about some advice?

  • Three hours is so sweet!! Last night she slept like a champ, 3 hours sleep/daddy change/boob time/ back to sleep. Tonight she just wants skin to skin, one check of the nipple to make sure it's there and she's out. I put her back in her crib and five minutes later she's hollering at me to come get her. I told her she's lucky she's so stinking cute!!
  • Third time tonight I've been up. He is finally sleeping! Thank the Lord! I don't know what sleep is anymore.
  • We're up! :)
  • DS loves to cluster feed from 11am to 4am for the last 2 days! I have never been one for naps, but am loving his 3 hour sleep stretch during the day!
  • I've been up since 2 am!!!! My husband's alarm went off at 5 for work and he started laughing bc I was in the floor giving Anna a bottle and googling laundry detergent recipes. Sometimes she'll sleep for 4 hours straight and then other nights she's up every hour wantingto be cuddled.
  • We are home from hospital and DS is not quite five days old... The first couple of nights were pretty brutal but tonight he has slept from around 8-12.30pm. I don't know what has hit me! (I think it was several weeks before our DD managed a few consecutive hours). And I can't sleep because my boobs are massive and painful, and I'm just totally wired for some reason...so desperate to sleep...
  • I was up. DS was up all night. From 12-6:30 he was either on my boob or screaming. He wasn't even sucking just wanted my boob to sleep ugh so exhausted today.

I miss sleeping! I know it is all worth it, but I'm so so tired! My LO only sleeps 1.5-2.5 hours at a time. The 2.5 stretches are usually earlier in the night and by 2am I'm lucky if we get 1.5 hours straight. Then he is wide awake by 5:30am!
  • We had cluster feeding for a week or so..but thankfully we've been back to normal for a few days again.  She's an every 3 hours on the dot type of girl (and occasionally scares me by reaching FOUR hours!)
    BabyFruit Ticker
  • I was up all night with my little man because he wasn't latching and he was so hungry. Literally he didn't go down until 6:30am. I figured out today it's because my milk came in really strong and it scares him when I let down. Been pumping all day.
  • Two nights ago was like that! And some this afternoon. After feeding multiple times I tried re-swaddling and rocking and she fell right asleep. She may have been comfort feeding...

This is our story too! More often than not she won't sleep 4 hours. She is just so unpredictable!
  • I feel you all. I miss sleep. I really do.
  • I nurse in bed in the side-lying position and then put baby in the rock n play next to the bed so I don't have to get up and I can keep the lights off. i have been getting lots of sleep!

Baby Will born 8/18. He's perfect.
  • LO refuses to sleep in her crib or bassinet. She wants to comfort nurse all night. Even when she sleeps, I can't cause I know in 30 min she will wake up fussy. If I put her in bed with us she sleeps a little better but I don't because I am paranoid I'll smother her or get covers over her head etc. I haven't slept in many many nights but DH has been taking her in the morning from 4am till 8 or so to let me nap.

Yup same for us. DD fights against me a lot during feedings which confuses me, then when she finally does feed, she's passed out cold on the nipple. She only likes to sleep on me, and wakes up if I set her down. Tonight I actually got her to sleep and laid her down in her bassinet and went to the bathroom. When I came back she was awake and crying because hubby thought she needed to be swaddled :-L I was not happy. She was asleep!!! It took a couple hours to get her back to sleep and now she's passed out on my chest. The part that makes it awesome is that she's sleeping in the exact came position I tend to sleep in, same arm placements and all. Hehe.

Up breastfeeding my baby right now...he is a little piggie. He will nurse , poop, nurse again, maybe poop again, then he falls asleep on the boob. I put him in his bassinet , then 30min or so later we do the same routine again. I am lucky if he sleeps more than an hour between feedings.....
  • I know swaddling helps me a lot
  • Vivian wanted to cluster feed from about 5pm to about 5am. At one point last night I was BFing in bed and we both fell asleep. So scary since DH and I worry about smothering her. DH woke me up and I burst into tears. He felt so bad but even with the paci he couldn't comfort her last night. Right now she's fast asleep against my chest.
  • We had a hard night and didn't get much sleep. I hate it when my head hurts and sleep deprived.
